Gus is a 5 year old Great Pyrenees, German Shepherd and Golden Retriever mix. He is an active, affectionate dog who enjoys both relaxing days on the couch and getting outside for walks and exercise. He weighs 85 lbs. Gus has experience being around small children, though he would thrive best in a home with young adults or older children. While he can be selective with other dogs, he has successfully adjusted to living with another dog in the past with proper time and introduction. However, he is probably best as the star of the show! He would do best with an owner who can provide him with structure, attention, and regular activity while also appreciating his calm and loyal nature indoors. He’d love to have a fenced in yard to lounge around in and freely roam to stretch his legs. Local adoptions only. We do not adopt out of the state of Illinois. Gus is being fostered in a private home. Appointments to meet him will be set up for approved adopters only. His adoption fee is $300 which includes all age appropriate vaccines. He is spayed, microchipped and Heartworm negative. He has also been kept on both flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Hello, It is me, Fezzik! You may remember me from such adventures as carrying my friends up cliffs, fighting giant battles, and being a very large fellow with a very soft heart. I have many opinions. I like to talk, sing, grumble, and generally keep my people informed about important matters, such as squirrels, dinner, and why we should be playing right now. I am quite large. In fact, some people mistake me for a small horse. I take this as a compliment. Despite my impressive size, my energy level is more `pleasant adventure` than `constant chaos.` I enjoy playing with my human friends and other dogs, and I`m happy to romp around before settling in for some quality lounging. I already know important things like sit, down, and how to walk on a leash. Of course, I am also strong as an ox, so you should be prepared to admire my magnificent muscles while we stroll together. I get along well with other dogs, I love spending time with my people, and I promise that while I may be giant-sized, my heart is even bigger. Any cats in the home should be dog savvy! If you`re looking for a loyal companion, a goofy best friend, and a furry sidekick who can double as a draft horse in an emergency, then I think we should meet.

This girl is one princess of fluff - she is shy at first in doggie playgroup but if the other dogs are gentle, she starts to bow and prance around to play. She dances and bounces like a bunny around the yard when she's comfortable. She is easily comforted by people and likes being near her foster family. Diamond loves being petted and brushed. She has a white/cream long coat with tan 'freckles' on her face. Diamond shows no signs of preferring being a 'working dog' and living with livestock outside. Instead, she finds her crate inside quickly and lays down to nibble her kibble one at a time. Diamond does not have leash experience, lays down and had to be carried to/from car and in Vet clinic. Car rides make her nervous, she did best in a crate for containment. Likely this girl had an isolated puppyhood in the rural county and not familiar with field trips; car rides and leashes. She is Quiet and does not growl or bark/whine when moved around. Guessed to be under 2 years old - just a teen! She is spayed, up to date on vaccines and on prevention (negative for heartworms). Housetrained, crate trained and part of a suburban foster home. They are patient and affectionate but require consistent training due to an independent nature and need secure fencing because of a natural urge to roam". That pretty much sums me up! Good thing CDR provides free training as part of the adoption fee! And lets not forget my amazing, flowing coat!
