·Intake Reason: Transferred from Alabama-Weight: 35 lbs Known with:·Dogs: Unknown·Kids: Unknown·Cats: UnknownPuppies are magnificent! I am cute, rambunctious, lively and fun. I have so much to learn, discover and explore - just a tiny sponge who is ready to absorb everything you must teach me and show me. I am counting on you to help me safely navigate the world and experience new things each day to allow me to grow into a confident young dog. That isn’t as exotic and daunting a task as it might sound. Each day I just need to be introduced to one new thing like the sound of a vacuum, a blender or a doorbell, walking up and down a step, a ride in a car, hearing a motorcycle or a truck, going somewhere to see new people, even maneuvering a fallen log on a walk. You get the idea, so many things that seem common to you are completely new to me. Speaking of growing, I may be tiny now but I do plan on getting bigger so I would love to take obedience classes to learn proper manners and social skills. I also know I have to practice something called house-training, so I know proper potty behavior. A routine and lots of yummy treats and praise will go a long way to helping me master house-training when I potty outside. Puppies and dogs need love, exercise, mental stimulation and consistency to be healthy, happy and confident. I am typically very open to all sorts of housemates; I can be a bit mischievous and may find any other critter as a potential playmate so they will need to understand that about me. I often explore the world with my mouth and while I am teething, I like to chew; my little puppy teeth are very sharp so if I am around children we should always be supervised. It is important that children learn about respecting me, too, and treat me gently because I am fragile. Raising a puppy is a big responsibility, a lot of work, and it may interrupt your sleep cycle for a bit, but a courteous and well-behaved dog is certainly worth the investment, and I promise to be loyal, love you unconditionally and be a companion forever. I just know I will bring joy and laughter into your home and cannot wait to meet you. Let the adventures begin!#1

Story
Some dogs just get it—they move through the world with quiet grace, calm energy, and the kind of loyal heart that makes every day better. That’s Wanda. This girl is the total package when it comes to manners and home life. She’s fully housebroken, sleeps quietly in her crate, walks beautifully on leash, and doesn’t chew or destroy things in the home. She thrives on routine, is affectionate without being clingy, and will quietly lay nearby while you work, relax, or move through your day. She has a love for adventure, particularly water, long hikes, and car rides!! Wanda is friendly and social with dogs out in the world. But when it comes to her home space, she prefers a quieter life where she doesn’t have to share her people. She’ll do best as the only dog in the home, where she can be your loyal companion and soak up all the love for herself. Wanda is not a fan of cats as she’s a bit too curious. A feline-free home is a must. A fenced yard would be a nice bonus for Wanda, but it's not required. What Wanda really wants is a steady, loving home where she can finally relax and be part of a family... her family. Apply online: HBWI.org. FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping. For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.

Story
Colby is a handsome 4-month-old male mixed breed puppy with a striking white coat and black accents. He was found abandoned with his littermates in rural Texas and brought to safety just in time—only days before a severe freeze hit the area. Colby is a social, affectionate puppy who loves to play and be part of the action. He does well with other dogs, is good with cats, and absolutely adores children. He thrives on interaction and would do best in a home that can give him plenty of attention, structure, and continued guidance as he grows. Curious about his breed mix? One of his siblings completed a Wisdom Panel DNA test, showing the litter is primarily Great Pyrenees (about 71%), with a mix of Pit Bull Terrier, Australian Cattle Dog, Anatolian Shepherd, and Greyhound. Like many rescue puppies, Colby is a unique blend of breeds and personality. Colby is currently working on his puppy manners and is doing well with potty training in his foster home. As with any young puppy, he will benefit from continued consistency, training, and patience as he learns and matures. He is up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, and will come with his medical records and an interstate health certificate confirming he was examined and cleared by a veterinarian prior to transport. His adoption includes a rebate toward a low-cost neuter at a local veterinary clinic. Colby is a fun, energetic puppy who will make a wonderful companion for an active home ready for all the joys (and responsibilities) of raising a young dog His adoption fee is $500, which will be used to support the many animals in our care whose medical bills far surpass their much lower adoption fee. We ask that you are serious about your intent to adopt before placing a deposit, so as not to prevent him from finding his forever family in the meantime, as we only accept one deposit per dog. If you’re not already familiar with our group, please feel free to visit our Group Page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/TxRescueRidersCommunity If you are serious about this pup, please contact us at DogTrailRides@gmail.com. We take payments through Zelle, Venmo, or CashApp, or we can take card numbers over the phone and process them through Square. All of these methods provide a receipt. Thank you for supporting our efforts to bring Texas dogs north to loving homes! You can read more about us at https://facebook.com/TxRescueRiders (Texas Rescue Riders). Also feel free to join our Group Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/groups/TxRescueRidersCommunity (Texas Rescue Riders Community) where members can post directly.
