Story
Some dogs just get it—they move through the world with quiet grace, calm energy, and the kind of loyal heart that makes every day better. That’s Wanda. This girl is the total package when it comes to manners and home life. She’s fully housebroken, sleeps quietly in her crate, walks beautifully on leash, and doesn’t chew or destroy things in the home. She thrives on routine, is affectionate without being clingy, and will quietly lay nearby while you work, relax, or move through your day. She has a love for adventure, particularly water, long hikes, and car rides!! Wanda is friendly and social with dogs out in the world. But when it comes to her home space, she prefers a quieter life where she doesn’t have to share her people. She’ll do best as the only dog in the home, where she can be your loyal companion and soak up all the love for herself. Wanda is not a fan of cats as she’s a bit too curious. A feline-free home is a must. A fenced yard would be a nice bonus for Wanda, but it's not required. What Wanda really wants is a steady, loving home where she can finally relax and be part of a family... her family. Apply online: HBWI.org. FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping. For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.

Missy, female, 1yr old Great Pyrenees, weighs 70lbs Missy was brought into a rural shelter in Texas as a stray with an injury to her eye. No one ever came to claim her and she did have surgery to have that eye removed. She is healed now and is hoping that she can share all her love with a family. Missy is easy going, loves going for leisure walks and hanging out. She is good with other calmer dogs as with her lack of peripheral vision on one side, she can get intimidated by higher energy dogs. Missy would love a calmer household where she can relax and enjoy life. She is crate trained and seems to be housebroken. She does not pull on the leash when walking.   We are located at S47 W30760 State Road 59, North Prairie, WI As always, we never guarantee the breed OR the size they'll be as an adult. But in order to help me out of here to catch the ride to WI on FEBRUARY 13th and arrive on FEBRUARY 14th, I need *both* a sponsor, and a WI foster home *or* a WI adopter! I have a place for now, but I can't stay here forever and I am worried. The rescue has put a hold on me to save my spot on the trip up north to WI, but now they need YOUR help to get me there - don't wait!!!   Updated: 1/28/2025 Dog Name: Foxy Sex: Female Estimated Breed: Great Pyrenees/ Husky/ Shepherd Mix Approximate Age: 8-10 months Approximate Weight: 25 lbs (goal weight 35-40) Spay/Neuter Status: Spayed Description: Foxy was found by a wonderful family, they noticed she was in rough shape. She is great with kids and other dogs! She is already crate trained and working on potty training! Foxy hopes to find her forever family in WI and enjoy the WI snow! Adoption Fee: $550We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433   ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time, we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs once they're at least 6 months old. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are between 6 to 8 months old. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. January 28, 2026, 5:33 pm
