Check out our Facebook page and YouTube channel for more pictures & videos of our adoptable dogs!Updated: 7/17/2024 Dog Name: Lacey Sex: Female Estimated Breed Mix: Great Pyrenees  Approximate Age: 11.5 weeks Approximate Weight: 10 lbs Litter: Acey Litter Description: Lacey and her sweet siblings were an unwanted litter in need who had no where to go and an uncertain fate. We're working on putting some meat on her bones. They are just babies who love to play and enjoy water activities and they love kids! Lacey is loving her life in WI! She loves every person and dog she meets. She's doing great with potty training and slept well in her kennel over night.  She is playful and spunky, but also loves to snuggle. She is a good swimmer too!   Adoption Fee: $450We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433   ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs by 6 months of age. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months of age, they will need to be spayed/neutered at one of our preferred clinics. This will be determined by your contract along with the month they should have their surgery. This is included in your adoption fee. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as PENDING, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. July 18, 2024, 9:41 pm

Story
Hello! I'm the lovely Daisy who you probably already know because I have been in and out of the shelter SIX TIMES in the last year. I am back yet again, and I am gonna be honest - It is taking a toll on me. I definitely have my flaws and quirks, some easy to manage, some that will take some time and patience to work through, but ultimately, I need someone who will not give up on me! I am stubborn, as many Great Pyrenees are, but I will make up for it with so much love I promise! Resource guarding is among one of the flaws I have, mostly just with people food and garbage, but if you don't give me the opportunity to get into that kind of thing, it should hopefully not be an issue. I enjoy being outside as much as possible, so being an outside dog, maybe on a farm setting, that would be a dream come true for me! I can be strong and jumpy when I am excited, so I would not be suitable for older people. I do well with children that are used to being around big dogs and understand to give me space while I am eating. Because of my resource guarding and being somewhat territorial, I would do best as your only inside animal. Outdoor cats would probably be okay though. I have a decent amount of energy, so my future home needs to be active and willing to take me for walks and play with me. I am SO smart! I would probably benefit greatly from some kind of training class if that's something you'd be willing to do with me! I could use a family or person that has familiarity and experience with Great Pyrenees because the people who have adopted me in the past just did not realize what they set themselves up for. I am not a bad dog. I just have not found that right fit, and it is starting to bring down my happy and sweet spirit! I really need to find my forever home. Could you be the one to never give up on me? Come meet me at the shelter and see if I could be your perfect match! Primary Color: White Weight: 95.63 Age: 2yrs 6mths 3wks

Story
Hi there! I'm Dixie, a sweet and goofy Great Pyrenees/ mix puppy looking for my forever home. My siblings and I were born in a shelter, but we were lucky enough to be tagged for rescue the day we were born. Since then, we've grown into happy and healthy pups. I love playing with my brothers and sisters, and I get along great with other dogs and kids. I haven't met many cats, but I think we could be friends too! I'm a typical puppy who loves to explore and have fun. I'm growing fast and will be a big, majestic dog, so I'll need a family that's ready for my size and needs. I need an adopter who understands my breed and knows I'm not just a cute, fluffy pup. Great Pyrenees like me need space, proper training, and lots of love! I'm resilient, loving, and full of joy, and I can't wait to share that with my new family. If you're looking for a big, fun-loving companion, I'm your pup! Adopt me, and let's start our adventure together. FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping. For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.
