He is a sweet heart and joyful spirit. He is also a distemper survivor puppy left with permanent nerve damage to his nervous system. And after fighting to live litterly more times than we can count we are happy to share he always comes out stronger. Ghost has partial facial paralyzing, repeated tic movements, yet he is always happy and smiling. He has a huge heart full of love he is ready to share. Ghost is always up to going on walk, swimming, car rides, or just snuggles and cuddles as long as he can spend time with his humans he's always eager to please. He is amazing and strong will, and joyful all while spreading his love to all who is willing to share their time with him. Ghost is friendly with every animal of every species big or small, he loves them all. Ghost know all his basic command, muzzle trained, walks perfect on leash, great recall. He is all around awesome. Story
Meet Willa!!! Rescued from a local shelter Christmas of 2021 after a hoarding abandonment case of 27 plus fearful feral dogs left behind in a property. The home was condemned, disgusting filthy. A home in such condition, no animal or human should have to live in. Willa is believed to be at most 18 months, She and 3 others call the sanctuary home, temporarily, all are doing amazing with their rehab, learning what life as a loved pet should be. Willia is unsure and fears new people and change but with patience she surly warms up. She is independent some and still unsure if she wants human affection but will always take a treat, sit next to your feet, moves in for petting, willing to snuggle and even cuddle. Willa loves all the dogs,is good with cats and small critters too. Willa has a missing eye. She either was born without it or lost it to trauma. It makes no difference to her. She is no different than any other dog. A 100% secured fenced in yard is a must, A home with other pets is required. At least 1 other balance playful dog for her to follow/gravitate toward. Willa has an amazing personality she herself is still learning she has. She has a banshee screech that will knock your socks off and scare the hell out of you. But no worries its her excitement happy noise she makes when overly happy and or excited. Always best to approach her slow at first, lots of butt scratches, treats, soft voice and if you enjoying singing she enjoys being sung too. Willa needs a lot of confidence still, and that requires a lot of patience with no set time frame and expectations ever. Allow her to live life 1 day at a time. Willa walks amazing on leash, barks very little but barks, will make her presence known and will seek human interaction as she follow other dogs doing so. Willa is house and crate trained, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, rabies, de-wormed, fecal tested negative, micro-chipped, neutered, and on monthly heart-worm flea/tick prevention. Roki is the most handsome husky with a heart as big as his howls! This fluffy fellow is as friendly as can be, ready to wiggle his way into your heart with his bright eyes and wagging tail.Huskies like Roki are known for their striking appearance and playful nature. If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website, for details about our fees and process, and to complete our Adoption Application.   ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis.  We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.  Cooper is the true definition of a derpy puppy! While he will definitely need someone that understands and is willing to work through the anxiety that comes from being pulled from a shelter/unfortunate start, I truly feel he will thrive in a home with patience that shows him that he is loved. I have gotten to know him over the last few weeks as his foster momma, and he truly is a friendly puppy that just wants to slobber on and kiss everyone he meets. He has shown an extreme interest in playing with other dogs (especially those that will rough house back with him), does very well with cats (he is currently living with 3), and he has met a variety of new people on the day-to-day showing only tail wags and butt wiggles. He is very food and toy motivated, and he came to me with pretty impressive leash manners/command knowledge. He will sit on command, and he tends to stay by your side on walks. I am glad that this young boy is being given the chance at a second start, and I look forward to helping with the integration of him into your home. Cooper has been neutered, microchipped, is up to date on vaccines, and HW negative. His estimated birthday is 9-15-23.If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please complete the online Adoption Application.  If you would like to donate to this pet's care, please click here. Story
This is my baby Draco. It hurts to have to post this but I do. I am finally moving out of a bust down one bedroom apartment, and they will only let me take one of my dogs and I have to say she’s a service dog . My mom first adopted Draco when I was 15. She left him with her ex friend for around a year a half about 2 years after we had him. He was neglected and abused. He ended back up at the shelter and I was able to claim him. My original intent was to rehome him but I held on to him. But now that I can only take one dog I have to. He is a funny quirky loveable boy. He has bronchitis from allergies and needs to be given Benadryl twice a day to help him. I just recently took him to the vet where they told me this. He coughs, hacks, and wheezes but hopefully this will get better once he is on the Benadryl for a little bit. I would also please ask you take him to your vet and see what they recommend. Before adopting I will want to do a home visit and introductions between any other anim
