Story
Meet Woody! This 3-year-old Alaskan Husky truly is the total package; friendly, confident, and ready for whatever life throws at him. He gets along great with cats, children, and strangers, making him an easy fit for different households. Although he likes other dogs, given his play style, he would likely be better as the only dog in the house or in a house with another dog who is confident and enjoys rough-and-rowdy play, He has a passion for adventure but also knows how to settle down when it's time to relax. He enjoys walks, hiking, camping, and days spent exploring. As if Woody needs any more perks, he is also off-leash trained with a reliable recall and is crate trained. Since he is confident and well-adjusted, he isn't bothered by everyday noises or unexpected encounters (force dryer, drills, kids yelling/laughing, etc.). Woody just enjoys being part of your life. Unlike many huskies, Woody is surprisingly quiet. While he may occasionally share his thoughts, he doesn't do the classic husky yell/scream about 98% of the time, making him an excellent companion for people who work from home. Woody would thrive with an active family, couple, or single person who enjoys getting outdoors. He has successfully lived in multi-dog households with both male and female dogs and has also done well with cats and children. If you're looking for a loyal boy who also excels at cuddles, Woody may be your match.

Story
Boo is a tricky story. She was saved with her sister as a baby off a farm when they ran free from the start of life. At eight weeks old, we took her and her sister in. She was very timid, hence the name Boo, and appears to be the runt. She is afraid of a lot of things. She does not like being on a lead and paces in her kennel due to anxiety. She has started Prozac, but we were told it could take a month or so to take full effect. She likes to bury her head in your lap and receive pets. If you are patient and looking for a dog that will love you forever and be right beside you, Boo is your girl. She is an indoor dog and will always need to be outside on a lead, in a tall fence, or learn to be leashed. She is a special girl and well worth the effort. A much quieter environment will make a world of difference.

Story
Blaze is a gentle senior who has met everyone with quiet kindness. Even after everything he`s been through, he`s remained calm, approachable, and happy to accept gentle attention. He`s the kind of dog who seems grateful for a kind voice and a caring hand, and it`s easy to imagine how quickly he`ll settle into the comfort of a loving home. Sometimes the dogs with the most weathered appearances have the softest hearts, and Blaze certainly seems to fit that description. Blaze is looking for a family who will help him enjoy the comfort and care every senior deserves. He`s receiving treatment for significant ear injuries and has heavy matting, along with some dental wear, an eyelid growth, and ear irritation that will benefit from continued veterinary care. Through it all, he`s remained cooperative and trusting with the people helping him. Blaze has so much love left to give, and there`s something truly special about giving a deserving senior the chance to spend his golden years surrounded by warmth, comfort, and the people who adore him. All adoptions include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before leaving the shelter`s care. To view our current available animals, please visit: https://indy.gov/activity/adopt-a-pet

Story
Giza is still very much a puppy at heart, and it shows in the best possible ways. At just eight months old, she`s playful, curious, eager to learn, and ready to be part of whatever adventure comes next. Her former owner describes her as a sweetheart who loves people, enjoys car rides, listens well, and has a knack for figuring out the household routine. She lets her family know when it`s time to go outside, understands when she`s told `no,` and has spent her time surrounded by toys, affection, and family life. Staff found the same easygoing personality during intake, describing her as a super sweet dog who listens well and was a pleasure to handle. Giza seems to approach the world with a gentle optimism. She enjoys meeting new people, especially when they take a moment to let her come say hello, and she`s done well with other dogs and children. Like many young dogs, she still has plenty of energy for playtime and fun, but she also has the foundation of a wonderful family companion already in place. Whether you`re looking for a hiking buddy, a backyard playmate, or a dog who will happily ride along on errands, Giza is ready to fill the role. The family who adopts her won`t just be getting a dog. They`ll be getting a loyal young companion with a bright future and a whole lot of love left to give.
