I'm Patty Rover, but everyone calls me Rover!I was found as a stray so not much is known about me but the staff here sure do love me! Maybe it's because of how handsome I am? Or maybe because I love attention and they have a lot to give! Will you love me next and be the saint to my Patty? I'm your typical shepsky, I can be talkative and a natural escape artist!P.S. I was found around St. Patrick's Day!

Story
This is my baby Draco. It hurts to have to post this but I do. I am finally moving out of a bust down one bedroom apartment, and they will only let me take one of my dogs and I have to say she’s a service dog . My mom first adopted Draco when I was 15. She left him with her ex friend for around a year a half about 2 years after we had him. He was neglected and abused. He ended back up at the shelter and I was able to claim him. My original intent was to rehome him but I held on to him. But now that I can only take one dog I have to. He is a funny quirky loveable boy. He has bronchitis from allergies and needs to be given Benadryl twice a day to help him. I just recently took him to the vet where they told me this. He coughs, hacks, and wheezes but hopefully this will get better once he is on the Benadryl for a little bit. I would also please ask you take him to your vet and see what they recommend. Before adopting I will want to do a home visit and introductions between any other anim

Story
Meet Balto! This senior fellow came to Helping Paws from the shelter with a bum back leg. We had him checked out by our vets and it was discovered that he has old ligament damage to that knee. That doesn't slow him down, though! Now that he has pain meds to be given as needed, he is a happy boy! He does well with other dogs and ignores the cats in his foster home. He is all Husky for sure, so people with breed experience would be preferred, but not required. He hasn't been around a lot of kids, but he is friendly with people. We suggest older children because he does occasionally take treats pretty roughly and we wouldn't want little fingers to be bitten. He is house trained and crate trained! He loves to curl up on the couch and nap, like any older gentleman would :) Balto's adoption fee is $200 and with that he comes neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He's also been on heartworm and flea prevention. Interested in meeting him? Visit www.helpingpawsonline.com/adoption-application

Story
Meet Aristotle! This guy came to us after being turned into the shelter as a stray. He had been staying in a wooded area with another dog for months and was tough to catch, but a local group that specializes in cases like this was able to get him into safety and now he is in a foster home that is continuing to work on him becoming a more confident guy! Aristotle is approximately 3 years old and weighs a little under 50 lbs. Obviously he age and breeds are guesses since he was a stray, but he definitely has the husky tendency to be an escape artist - LOL. He can scale a 6 foot fence, so he will need to be leashed or watched closely at all times when outside. He is very timid with new people and so an adopter would need to be committed to continuing working with him on socializing. He absolutely LOVES other dogs and so if you are looking for a companion for your dog, he is your guy! He also has done well with the cats in his foster home. We would suggest no children just because of timid nature and the fact children move fast and that easily startles him. He is currently working on his housetraining and crate training and is doing well to acclimating to life in the house :) Aristotle's adoption fee is $250 and he will come fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He is also heartworm negative and currently on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. If you are interested in meeting him, please visit www.helpingpawsonline.com/adoption-application

Story
Eric or Price Eric as he likes to be called was found wandering around looking for his castle. He is a very relaxed Husky who loves to be with people and snuggle on the couch. He is a very curious dog who prefers to be with people, and is extremely athletic so he would need a 6ft fenced in yard. Eric has met other dogs very well and seems to be pretty social and comfortable around other dogs. He would love to be Fostered or adopted by you. We are looking for someone with Husky experience for Prince Eric. *Adopters must live in Central Indiana, no more than 45 min from downtown Indy *Please visit website for how to adopt: https://sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org/adopt *Please note that we do not operate on a first come first served basis.

Story
Myshkin (Myshie) has been a faithful companion to me for about three years. He has a very loving nature toward everyone and enjoys playing indoors or outdoors! With good exercise and trips to the dog park, Myshie and I are great pals. As sorry as I am to let him go, I also want to make sure he gets into a good home. If you are interested in meeting him, please call or text me at (810) 348-2856. I have all the necessary supplies to take care of him included in the price. He really has been a great, adventurous dog with very little fuss and is surprisingly very quiet considering he is a Husky! If you have other dogs, I’d like to meet up to see how they get along as well.

Story
I was given this dog from a friend who had it for some years. I am looking for him to go to a home that will truly love him. Truly love him as have him preferably as an only dog to have time to play with him, walk him, and overall have a space for him with a big fence because he is an escape master. A home where he can run free and not be tied up all day! To my knowledge he will need medical attention due to having a bad scar near his butt. He is very well trained and loves to cuddle and roll around in the mud and grass.

Story
Clark Kent was pulled from a euthanasia list at a shelter outside of Marion Co. While we are not normally able to do this, a lot of stars aligned for this lucky dog. He is approximately 2 years old and an Akita mix. He is 56 lbs. Clark Kent was on the euthanasia list because he was suffering from very high kennel stress, and it was affecting his quality of life. He is currently living at a daycare facility and doing very well. Clark is a very sweet dog and also does well with other dogs. He has a lot of energy, so we are looking for a home where he can be active. We are also looking for a home where owners are either home frequently or where he will NOT go long periods of time in a crate. He would also do best in a home that has a fenced-in yard. Clark is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $200.
