Story
Eric or Prince Eric - as he likes to be called - was found wandering around looking for his castle. He is a very relaxed Husky who loves to be with people and snuggle on the couch. He is a very curious dog who prefers to be with people and is extremely athletic so he would need a 6ft fenced in yard. Eric has met other dogs very well and seems to be pretty social and comfortable around them. His play style can be overwhelming for some dogs, so a meet and greet will be required. Eric has met children and does very well with them! Of course, due to his size - supervision is always recommended. *Adopters must live in Central Indiana, no more than 45 min from downtown Indy *Please visit website for how to adopt: https://sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org/adopt *Please note that we do not operate on a first come first served basis.

Story
Meet Aristotle! This very special approximately 3-year-old boy is looking for a special home to call his own! He was found as a stray and is very timid with people. He has opened up A LOT to his foster family and loves to give kisses and cuddles, but new people and environments are still a struggle for him, and he will require an owner to have patience with him. He can and will go over a 6-foot fence, so he will need to be on a leash when outside. He is very much a husky in so many ways - independent, silly, and stubborn :) He is very dog friendly, and we will require him to go to a home with a confident dog that he can learn from. He gets excited to see cats, must mostly ignores them after the initial excitement wears off. We are working on house and crate training, and he is very used to wearing a male wrap when in the house while learning. Aristotle's adoption fee is $100 and he will come fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He is heartworm negative and is on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. His adoption fee also includes a one-time training consultation with our training partner, It's a Breeze Dog Training, to help integrate him into your home! Interested in meeting Aristotle? Please submit an adoption application through our website - www.helpingpawsonline.com/adoption-application

Story
Meet Balto! This older gentleman was found as a stray and is now looking for the perfect home to call his own! He is approximately 10 years old and is your typical husky in that he LOVES the outdoors. His foster mom has a hard time getting him inside more days! When inside, he loves to be cuddle up in a blanket - preferably with his people. He does well with the other dogs in his foster home, but mostly just ignores them as well as the cats. He came to us with some issues with his back leg, but regular exercise and some pain meds help keep him mobile and happy. Balto's adoption fee is sponsored (with an approved application) and he will come fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He is heartworm negative and is on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Balto will also come with a one time training session with our training partner - It's a Breeze Dog Training - to help you integrate him into your home! Interested in meeting Balto? Story
Ice was originally found as a stray in Speedway on 1/19. He is approximately 4-6 months old. He is a total sweetheart. He currently lives at Tonya's Puppy Palace and is daycare certified. He gets along with other dogs but has not been cat tested. Our best guess is husky/shepherd mix. He is well-mannered for a puppy but still very much has puppy tendencies, like chewing and mouthiness. He is crate trained and almost entirely potty trained (may have an occasional accident). He is currently 34 lbs. Ice is neutered, vaccinated (2 rounds currently), microchipped, on heartworm prevention, dewormed, and on flea prevention

If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website, for details about our fees and process, and to complete our Adoption Application.   ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis.  We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.  Luna Moon is a 40 lb., 7 year old white husky with beautiful blue eyes.  She is a tripod that came to ARPO after being hit by a car requiring her to have her leg amputated.  Being a tripod does not intimidate her and she is mastering stairs with ease.  She is fine being crated, is house trained, loves people, kids and cats.  She is mostly a quiet dog and calm in the evenings. Initially not socialized with dogs, she struggled to accept the resident dogs at first, but given time, she has come a long way in being tolerant of them especially the male. She will need a slow introduction to a new dog and would be more tolerant with a male or a submissive female. She is a great walker and would do well with someone who is able to provide frequent walks, but being a tripod should be taken into consideration. She would not be good for frequent long hikes. She is a happy dog who loves the winter weather.  We believe she came from a home without a fenced yard and is fine going out leashed or being let out in a fenced yard. DOB 10/29/17If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please complete the online Adoption Application.  If you would like to donate to this pet's care, please click here. His right front leg was amputated on 12/26/24. However, he has adapted well and runs and moves as if he had four legs. Storm is very friendly, loving, smart, is potty trained and gets along well with the 10 year old cattle dog in his foster home. He has one blue eye and one brown eye and has a beautifully colored coat. Storm loves the cold weather and the snow! He is full of energy and would do best in a home with a fenced in yard. He loves attention and getting all the affection you can give! Storm will adapt easily to a loving home. He has been neutered, microchipped, HW negative, and up to date on vaccinations. If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please complete the online Adoption Application.  If you would like to donate to this pet's care, please click here.
