Laser does best with very high energy level dogs that can give him corrections. Would do best with other high energy huskies in a home. He's your typical husky so he's a natural escape artist.

Hello! I'm Fenrir. I'm a cute boy who came into the shelter at no fault of my own and I am looking for my furever home! I can sometimes be nervous at first but give me a minute and I will come out of my shell! My previous owners said I am good with other dogs and kids. I'm a typical husky mix, so I will need my adopters to either have experience of be familiar with typical silly husky behavior! Come meet me today!

Story
This is my baby Draco. It hurts to have to post this but I do. I am finally moving out of a bust down one bedroom apartment, and they will only let me take one of my dogs and I have to say she’s a service dog . My mom first adopted Draco when I was 15. She left him with her ex friend for around a year a half about 2 years after we had him. He was neglected and abused. He ended back up at the shelter and I was able to claim him. My original intent was to rehome him but I held on to him. But now that I can only take one dog I have to. He is a funny quirky loveable boy. He has bronchitis from allergies and needs to be given Benadryl twice a day to help him. I just recently took him to the vet where they told me this. He coughs, hacks, and wheezes but hopefully this will get better once he is on the Benadryl for a little bit. I would also please ask you take him to your vet and see what they recommend. Before adopting I will want to do a home visit and introductions between any other anim

Story
Meet Balto! This senior fellow came to Helping Paws from the shelter with a bum back leg. We had him checked out by our vets and it was discovered that he has old ligament damage to that knee. That doesn't slow him down, though! Now that he has pain meds to be given as needed, he is a happy boy! He does well with other dogs and ignores the cats in his foster home. He is all Husky for sure, so people with breed experience would be preferred, but not required. He hasn't been around a lot of kids, but he is friendly with people. We suggest older children because he does occasionally take treats pretty roughly and we wouldn't want little fingers to be bitten. He is house trained and crate trained! He loves to curl up on the couch and nap, like any older gentleman would :) Balto's adoption fee is $200 and with that he comes neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He's also been on heartworm and flea prevention. Interested in meeting him? Visit www.helpingpawsonline.com/adoption-application

Story
Meet Aristotle! This guy came to us after being turned into the shelter as a stray. He had been staying in a wooded area with another dog for months and was tough to catch, but a local group that specializes in cases like this was able to get him into safety and now he is in a foster home that is continuing to work on him becoming a more confident guy! Aristotle is approximately 3 years old and weighs a little under 50 lbs. Obviously he age and breeds are guesses since he was a stray, but he definitely has the husky tendency to be an escape artist - LOL. He can scale a 6 foot fence, so he will need to be leashed or watched closely at all times when outside. He is very timid with new people and so an adopter would need to be committed to continuing working with him on socializing. He absolutely LOVES other dogs and so if you are looking for a companion for your dog, he is your guy! He also has done well with the cats in his foster home. We would suggest no children just because of timid nature and the fact children move fast and that easily startles him. He is currently working on his housetraining and crate training and is doing well to acclimating to life in the house :) Aristotle's adoption fee is $250 and he will come fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He is also heartworm negative and currently on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. If you are interested in meeting him, please visit www.helpingpawsonline.com/adoption-application

Story
Eric or Price Eric as he likes to be called was found wandering around looking for his castle. He is a very relaxed Husky who loves to be with people and snuggle on the couch. He is a very curious dog who prefers to be with people, and is extremely athletic so he would need a 6ft fenced in yard. Eric has met other dogs very well and seems to be pretty social and comfortable around other dogs. He would love to be Fostered or adopted by you. We are looking for someone with Husky experience for Prince Eric. *Adopters must live in Central Indiana, no more than 45 min from downtown Indy *Please visit website for how to adopt: https://sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org/adopt *Please note that we do not operate on a first come first served basis.

Roki is the most handsome husky with a heart as big as his howls! This fluffy fellow is as friendly as can be, ready to wiggle his way into your heart with his bright eyes and wagging tail.Huskies like Roki are known for their striking appearance and playful nature. Story
Zen is a 4 year-old (born April 13, 2020) Alaskan-born doggo in need of a new home! Dad was a lab/Australian shepherd mix and mom was Alaskan husky/Rhodesian Ridgeback. He loves to run and will need a fenced space. After his neuter, he gained a lot of weight despite still being active running around the yard, barking at squirrels, and hunting for the best sticks. He is generally house trained but is an excited/nervous piddler. He loves to play and has gotten a lot better about not jumping up. He tends to be more anxious/submissive personality type. Zen has been through a 5-week away-from-home formal training camp and has good foundational skills, but does not get much practice these days as he is not out and about with us like he used to be and spends his time running in a fenced yard vs on leash. He is good with other dogs, has met cats but not been around them much, and loves kids but does tend to be a bit rough just due to his high energy and excitability.

Story
Myshkin (Myshie) has been a faithful companion to me for about three years. He has a VERY loving nature toward everyone and enjoys playing indoors or outdoors! With good exercise and trips to the dog park, Myshie and I are great pals. He is AKC registered, 100% Siberian Husky! As sorry as I am to let him go, I also want to make sure he gets into a good home. If you are interested in meeting him, please call or text me at (810) 348-2856. I have all the necessary supplies to take care of him included in the price (crate, beds, bowls, collars, leashes, etc). He really has been a great, adventurous dog with very little fuss and is surprisingly very quiet considering he is a Husky! He is fully trained (potty trained, several tricks, walking commands, etc) and shows a sense of respect that does need to be earned. If you have other dogs, I’d like to meet up to see how they get along as well.

And after fighting to live litterly more times than we can count we are happy to share he always comes out stronger. Ghost has partial facial paralyzing, repeated tic movements, yet he is always happy and smiling. He has a huge heart full of love he is ready to share. Ghost is always up to going on walk, swimming, car rides, or just snuggles and cuddles as long as he can spend time with his humans he's always eager to please. He is amazing and strong will, and joyful all while spreading his love to all who is willing to share their time with him. Ghost is friendly with every animal of every species big or small, he loves them all. Ghost know all his basic command, muzzle trained, walks perfect on leash, great recall. He is all around awesome. Story
Meet Willa!!! Rescued from a local shelter Christmas of 2021 after a hoarding abandonment case of 27 plus fearful feral dogs left behind in a property. The home was condemned, disgusting filthy. A home in such condition, no animal or human should have to live in. Willa is believed to be at most 18 months, She and 3 others call the sanctuary home, temporarily, all are doing amazing with their rehab, learning what life as a loved pet should be. Willia is unsure and fears new people and change but with patience she surly warms up. She is independent some and still unsure if she wants human affection but will always take a treat, sit next to your feet, moves in for petting, willing to snuggle and even cuddle. Willa loves all the dogs,is good with cats and small critters too. Willa has a missing eye. She either was born without it or lost it to trauma. It makes no difference to her. She is no different than any other dog. A 100% secured fenced in yard is a must, A home with other pets is required. At least 1 other balance playful dog for her to follow/gravitate toward. Willa has an amazing personality she herself is still learning she has. She has a banshee screech that will knock your socks off and scare the hell out of you. But no worries its her excitement happy noise she makes when overly happy and or excited. Always best to approach her slow at first, lots of butt scratches, treats, soft voice and if you enjoying singing she enjoys being sung too. Willa needs a lot of confidence still, and that requires a lot of patience with no set time frame and expectations ever. Allow her to live life 1 day at a time. Willa walks amazing on leash, barks very little but barks, will make her presence known and will seek human interaction as she follow other dogs doing so. Willa is house and crate trained, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, rabies, de-wormed, fecal tested negative, micro-chipped, neutered, and on monthly heart-worm flea/tick prevention. Story
Clark Kent was pulled from a euthanasia list at a shelter outside of Marion Co. While we are not normally able to do this, a lot of stars aligned for this lucky dog. He is approximately 2 years old and an Akita mix. He is 56 lbs. Clark Kent was on the euthanasia list because he was suffering from very high kennel stress, and it was affecting his quality of life. He is currently living at a daycare facility and doing very well. Clark is a very sweet dog and also does well with other dogs. He has a lot of energy, so we are looking for a home where he can be active. We are also looking for a home where owners are either home frequently or where he will NOT go long periods of time in a crate. He would also do best in a home that has a fenced-in yard. Clark is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $200.
