Story
Eric or Prince Eric - as he likes to be called - was found wandering around looking for his castle. He is a very relaxed Husky who loves to be with people and snuggle on the couch. He is a very curious dog who prefers to be with people and is extremely athletic so he would need a 6ft fenced in yard. Eric has met other dogs very well and seems to be pretty social and comfortable around them. His play style can be overwhelming for some dogs, so a meet and greet will be required. Eric has met children and does very well with them! Of course, due to his size - supervision is always recommended. *Adopters must live in Central Indiana, no more than 45 min from downtown Indy *Please visit website for how to adopt: https://sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org/adopt *Please note that we do not operate on a first come first served basis.

Story
Meet Aristotle! This very special approximately 3-year-old boy is looking for a special home to call his own! He was found as a stray and is very timid with people. He has opened up A LOT to his foster family and loves to give kisses and cuddles, but new people and environments are still a struggle for him, and he will require an owner to have patience with him. He can and will go over a 6-foot fence, so he will need to be on a leash when outside. He is very much a husky in so many ways - independent, silly, and stubborn :) He is very dog friendly, and we will require him to go to a home with a confident dog that he can learn from. He gets excited to see cats, must mostly ignores them after the initial excitement wears off. We are working on house and crate training, and he is very used to wearing a male wrap when in the house while learning. Aristotle's adoption fee is $100 and he will come fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He is heartworm negative and is on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. His adoption fee also includes a one-time training consultation with our training partner, It's a Breeze Dog Training, to help integrate him into your home! Interested in meeting Aristotle? Please submit an adoption application through our website - www.helpingpawsonline.com/adoption-application

Meet Balto! This older gentleman was found as a stray and is now looking for the perfect home to call his own! He is approximately 10 years old and is your typical husky in that he LOVES the outdoors. His foster mom has a hard time getting him inside more days! When inside, he loves to be cuddle up in a blanket - preferably with his people. He does well with the other dogs in his foster home, but mostly just ignores them as well as the cats. He came to us with some issues with his back leg, but regular exercise and some pain meds help keep him mobile and happy. Balto's adoption fee is sponsored (with an approved application) and he will come fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He is heartworm negative and is on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Balto will also come with a one time training session with our training partner - It's a Breeze Dog Training - to help you integrate him into your home! Interested in meeting Balto? Story
Sis has been DNA tested and results are in! 84% Husky and 16% Lab! Her foster pawrents currently have two other huskies that Lil Sis plays with, noted with supervision as she has tons of energy and a very forward play style. Lil Sis currently lives with a cat as well and they have seen a bit of chasing but only when the cat starts running, so best to always supervise if going to a home with cats. They suggest a home with a fenced in yard as Lil Sis LOVES to run and be chased! When Lil Sis is worn out, she is the biggest cuddlebug! This animal is staying in a foster home and is not at the shelter. Please fill out the adoption application and an adoption counselor will contact you to set up an appointment to meet the animal. Adoptions are free and include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before leaving with you. To view our current available animals, please visit: https://indy.gov/activity/adopt-a-pet.

Meet Buckeye a purebred Akita around 7 years old! Buckeye would do best with an owner knowledgeable on the Akita breed. Buckeye loves treats and will greet you with tippy tappies and a big ole smile. He has been known to be friendly with children but would do best with supervision. Akitas need regular grooming due to their fluffy undercoat which usually blows out twice a year if not more. Story
Skye is a very sweet pup! She is 43 lbs of fluff! She loves to go for walks and loves tummy rubs. She is 2 years old, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations through 3/2026. She will come with toys, two harnesses, her collar, and a leash. We also have some food and her vaccination records. She is great with kids. She will chase cats a bit, to their dismay, but ultimately is okay with them. I am not sure how she would do living with other dogs, but doesn't mind visiting them when walking on a leash. She is very friendly. We are only rehoming her due to her mommy's health status. She is no longer able to care for her properly. If you are interested, please let me know.
