❄️ Meet The Arctic Explorers Litter—a group of irresistibly soft, sweet pups who are ready to find their forever families! At just 2.5 months old and weighing 5–7 pounds, they’re on track to be around 25–30 pounds when fully grown. They look like husky/terrier mixes, but they’re probably a mix of several breeds. The boys, Siku and Nanuk, are total little shadows who love to follow their people around and curl up for snuggles. The girls, Luminate and Sura, have adventurous spirits and enjoy exploring their surroundings before coming back for affection. Whether you’re looking for a snuggly sidekick or a curious companion, this litter has the perfect match. These pups are destined to be fantastic additions to some lucky homes!

🐾 Meet Ada – The Adventure Buddy Who’s Been Waiting Too Long! 🐾
3 and a half months in care… and still no interest. Let’s change that! Ada is a gorgeous 3-year-old, 60-pound lovebug who has been so patient waiting for her forever family. She’s been living in a foster home this whole time, so you know exactly what you’re getting: a fun, affectionate, house-ready girl who will slide right into family life. If you’re looking for an enthusiastic companion, Ada is your girl. She lives for outdoor fun—water adventures, long walks, meeting new people, chasing balls, you name it. She’s full of life and happiest when she’s moving, exploring, and being part of whatever you’re doing. She even powered through a 5-mile walk recently and loved every second! Ada is smart and learning quickly. Her leash skills are improving (less pulling now!), and she just needs someone who can keep a good pace and enjoy adventures with her. She’s wonderful with kids and good with everyone—though she tends to pick a favorite person to be her shadow. She’s also working on her relationship with the resident cat. And the cuddles… oh, the cuddles. Ada isn’t just a snuggler; she needs that connection. It’s like affection recharges her emotional battery. She leans in with her whole heart (and maybe her paws). After a day of play, exploring, and being your adventure buddy, Ada transforms into the ultimate couch companion—soft, warm, and completely devoted. ✨ Ada has waited far too long for her person. Could it be you?
She’ll fill your days with joy, your home with love, and your nights with the sweetest snuggles.

Story
- Busy pup who loves to connect with people through play and other activities; will likely enjoy physical activity and mental challenges to keep their bodies and brains busy- Prefers to explore and do their own thing here in the shelter, but will likely open up more once they're in a home environment and have had time to decompress - Enjoys spending time with dogs who have a similar play style - Smart boy who knows sit, shake and down- Loves going on walks and does best with a harness- Loves to learn and has great focus - especially if you have treats - so would be a lot of fun to train Tends to be socially awkward with other dogs (dog intro recommended)- Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for them (mature home recommended) This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Black Weight: 54 Age: 4yrs 1mths 3wks
