- Prefers to explore and do their own thing here in the shelter, but will likely open up more once they're in a home environment and have had time to decompress - Smart pup, knows sit- Loves to learn and has great focus - especially if you have treats - so would be a lot of fun to train - Tends to avoid other dogs (dog intro recommended) - Needs a teens-and-up home right now- All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for age- The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, and not breed label Primary Color: Grey Secondary Color: White Weight: 57 Age: 5yrs 0mths 1wks

- LOVES playing with toys, especially squeaky ones! - Enjoys spending time outside and will get the zoomies; loves going on long sniff walks - Loves high value treats, and will focus well to learn new skills - Will enjoy staying mentally busy in his new home, but does a great job of doing things on his own as well - Appears to have some house training (foster family said he'd boop the door to go outside), just remember any dog may take time to adjust to a new schedule and routine - Prefers to build relationship with new people through calm activities - Has tons of personality and is just still figuring the world out! - Adopters will receive a discount on ARL Training Classes to assist in his decompression into his future life - Has gotten along well with another dog in a foster home, but was a little awkward when playing; may enjoy spending time with like-minded dog friends (dog intro recommended) - Needs a teens-and-up home right nowAll adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)- The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Story
Chevy is a husky mix and is about 6.5 years old and weighs 45 pounds. Chevy’s a perfect gentleman with excellent manners and he’s a total sweetheart! He loves people and other dogs and knows basic commands such as sit, down and wait. He is also kennel-trained. Chevy loves to be affectionate, but also respects your space and doesn’t jump on people. He absolutely loves some belly rubs and playing with stuffed toys.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.October 20, 2024, 10:39 am
