Story
Brody is a handsome husky who is approximately 6 yrs old. He has all of the typical husky characteristics- friendly, smart, energetic but somewhat independent and stubborn. Brody is looking for home with an active owner who is familiar with arctic breeds. A fenced yard would be ideal so he can safely run and play. We want to make sure Brody has plenty of attention and exercise in his new home as he was often left crated outside. Brody seems to be dog selective and older children would be best because of his energy level. No renters please. If you are interested in Brody, please fill out our online application. You may also stop in during open hours Wednesdays 6-8pm or Saturdays 12-3pm. https://www.lakeshorehumanesociety.org/online-adoption-form - [ ]

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED Beautiful Matilda & her 3 siblings were only about 6.5 months old when they were found in a field foraging for food. They were taken to a local shelter where they received veterinary care, all vaccines, were spayed/neutered & microchipped. Her siblings have been adopted but Matilda just spent her 1st Birthday in the shelter. Although she’s stolen the hearts of shelter volunteers, they know a shelter is no place for a playful, energetic puppy. Diamonds agrees & is committed to help get her into a home, but we can’t make her a Diamond unless someone steps up to foster her! Matilda aka Maddie is a Husky mix with gorgeous blue eyes and a coat with a delicious blend of all the chocolates; white, milk, caramel & dark. In true husky & puppy fashion, she's a high energy girl who needs to run & play. She loves every person she meets but will require proper supervision around toddlers & young children just because of her energy. We believe Matilda is dog friendly; as always, a supervised meet & greet with any resident or frequently visiting dogs will be required as part of the approval process. There’s no way to properly cat test her at this time but a volunteer will assist approved applicants with a cat test if needed. Matilda’s ideal home would be an active owner/family who understands & is committed to fulfilling the physical and mental stimulation Huskies need. A spacious & securely fenced in yard would be ideal, but daily walks, runs or hikes would work to help burn off that spunky Husky puppy energy, too. LOTS OF TOYS! One of Matilda’s favorite things to do is gather toys, stack them on her bed and play with them all...Cutness overload! If you have room in your heart & home for a sweet, happy & playful dog who will love to go on adventures and share snuggle time with you, Matilda is waiting for you to make her Birthday wish come true! Story
This is a mighty special boy who is NOT special needs despite only having 3 legs.  Oscar is missing his front right leg and it does not slow him down at all.  His foster mom takes him on long walks daily and he loves them. If she gets busy and does not take him, he whines at hurt like his feelings are really hurt. He jumps into the van by himself and he loves to go on rides, really he barks if she loads up another dog and does not take Oscar.  The foster mom tries to give all of the dogs equal time in the love and attention area.  Oscar went riding in a subdivision where the Christmas lights were plentiful and he loved it, he rode and looked at the lights as if he were a real 2-legged little boy. So it is safe to say that Oscar's foster mom spoils him and gives him more attention and love because we feel he deserves it.  Oscar is 4 years old and 60 pounds.  All he knew all his life was being chained up in someone's yard.  Oscar got tired of it and chewed through his cable chain and got loose.  Something horrible happened to him but he made his way back home.  The foster mom lives on the same street so the owners called her over and begged her to help him.  She called me and Roxy's K-9 Rescue took him to the vet where they cleaned him up immediately and assessed the situation.  There was so much damage that they only option was to amputate his leg.  If you would like to see his wound pictures, I can email them to you. Oscar is now a Roxy's K-9 Rescue dog as the owners surrendered him not wanting a tri-pod dog.  But nothing is wrong with him, Oscar has no disabilities or special needs except to need love and a safe, happy home. He gets along with all of the dogs that are in the home, big and small.  He does not bother them and they do not bother him.  He is more focused on hanging out and following his foster mom around.  He is completely healed from his amputation, no medications or special instructions are required for him. Wouldn't you like a warm loving guy who is not destructive and appreciates a good home?  There is another video of him playing with a toy that I can provide. We transport across the United States.  Thank you.   ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.         November 22, 2023, 8:46 am
