Story
Junior here -- I am a Lover! I am affectionate, give kisses & roll over for tummy rubs! I am such a good natured, engaging 7-month old Husky puppy. I show good house manners (no counter surfing or destruction) am friendly with people, gentle & respectful of small dogs, & love to romp & play with larger dogs in the back yard.. I am healthy, intelligent, & learn quickly. Also, I am house-trained, neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, crate trained, obedient, & respond to the commands for come, sit, go lay down, leave it, & crate. I ride quietly tethered in the backseat of the car & often nap.. I would love to find a furever home where I'm a treasured member of an active family. Currently, I enjoy a home with a fenced backyard where I can play. I like balls & stuffies, but don't destroy them. I'm respectful & do not destroy or chew on furniture. Some experience with active young dogs may be helpful. Interested? Please contact Sue: sgaskell63@gmail.com. Adoption fee: $800.00

Story
Hear ye, hear ye! From the frosty north (or at least the local streets), arrives Ragnar, a 4-year-old Siberian Husky of epic proportions. Much like his legendary namesake Ragnar Lothbrok from the TV show Vikings, our Ragnar appeared as a mysterious wanderer — arriving at the shelter as a “stray,” unclaimed and clearly between conquests. He came in intact, sporting warrior-length nails, a bit of tartar on his teeth, and one chipped canine tooth (we’re calling it a battle scar from conquering the Realm of Couch Cushions). Ragnar is every bit the classic Husky: High energy like a longship cutting through stormy seas. Friendly… yet slightly aloof (he must maintain his mystique). Vocal enough to summon Odin himself. Because of his operatic howls and dramatic monologues, a detached dwelling is recommended. Apartment neighbors may not fully appreciate his Norse poetry at sunrise. This Viking does not simply walk — he charges into life. He: Knows “sit” (a true scholar-warrior). Is very food motivated (a fan of post-battle feasts). Pulls on leash like he’s towing a longship. Occasionally leaps up in excitement to declare you his favorite human. He does not enjoy being restrained — in true Husky fashion, he believes shackles are beneath him. Patience, structure, and consistent obedience training will be key to shaping this wild Norse heart into a loyal household champion. Ragnar needs: High physical exercise (raids on hiking trails preferred) Mental stimulation (puzzle toys = tactical war planning) Routine and calming cues (even Vikings need structure) Without proper enrichment, he may redecorate your village or attempt a daring escape worthy of saga retelling. Huskies are legendary escape artists, and Ragnar seems ready to live up to the folklore. His Ideal Clan A home experienced with the Husky breed A high-energy canine sibling to spar and burn energy with A confident, patient handler who can provide leadership (think wise Jarl, not chaotic villager) Supervision and structure to help build his self-control muscles While he may have come from a background lacking consistency, his natural Husky independence — already strong in the breed — just needs the right leader to channel it. True to his lineage, Ragnar embodies the full theatrical Husky flair: The “you have betrayed me” look when asked to wait The soulful howl of injustice when mildly inconvenienced The zoomies of Valhalla He is super fun, endlessly comedic, and guaranteed to keep his humans laughing daily. If you are ready to: Provide epic adventures Establish strong but kind leadership Embrace the drama And welcome a fluffy Viking into your hall… Then Ragnar awaits his forever fjord. Will you be the Jarl of his next great saga? AGE: 1 Year SEX: Female BREED: Husky Mix ENERGY LEVEL: Medium DOG FRIENDLY?: Yep! CAT FRIENDLY?: Yep! KID FRIENDLY?: Likely! FOSTER IG: @meet_thefosters Meet Millie! This sweet, playful girl has a gentle, lovable personality that instantly wins people over. She enjoys cuddling just as much as she loves to play and brings a soft, joyful energy to everything she does. Millie is generally quiet and easygoing, and while she can be a little shy, she truly blossoms with reassurance and kind guidance from her people. Millie absolutely adores other dogs and lights up around her canine friends. She loves playing with them and greets dogs nicely and happily on walks, clearly enjoying their company. She has also done well meeting a cat indoors and has shown she can be cat friendly. Given her gentle nature, Millie would likely do very well in a home with kids. She lives in a busy area and handles it well, taking everyday sights and sounds in stride. While sudden noises may occasionally surprise her, she adjusts quickly and carries on with her tail wagging. When meeting new people, Millie may start off shy, but with a little encouragement she becomes very friendly and eager to soak up attention and affection. At home, Millie is house trained and knows several cues, including sit, come, and wait. She is also crate trained and sleeps soundly through the night, though she may politely remind you if you sleep in a bit too long! She benefits from positive reinforcement and gentle encouragement with things like getting into the car or taking a bath, and she responds beautifully to supportive guidance. With her sweet nature, playful spirit, and love of both dogs and cuddles, Millie would thrive in a home ready to offer reassurance, consistency, and plenty of love. If you’re looking for a happy, dog-friendly companion with a heart of gold, Millie may be the perfect match! Think you might be the right fit to provide a loving home for Millie? AGE: 8 months SEX: Female BREED: Husky Mix ENERGY LEVEL: Medium DOG FRIENDLY?: Yep! CAT FRIENDLY?: Untested KID FRIENDLY?: Likely! FOSTER IG: @lolathenorthernmix Meet Lola! This playful, energetic girl is full of joy and absolutely loves to move. Zoomies are one of her specialties, and she’s happiest when she can run around, explore her surroundings, and investigate everything the world has to offer. Lola enjoys enrichment activities and chewing on her toys, which keep her busy and satisfied. At the end of the day, she transforms into a total love bug - she adores being snuggled, follows her people from room to room, and will gently nudge you with her nose to ask for pets and affection. Lola is confident and social, greeting new people with ease and enthusiasm. She’s not shy at all and becomes comfortable immediately, happily engaging with visitors - she recently had a guest over and loved every minute of playing with her. Lola does well in a busy, downtown environment and takes the hustle and bustle in stride. She’s smart and eager to learn, already knowing sit and stay, sitting patiently while waiting for her meal to be placed down, and currently learning paw. She’s also house trained, understands the word “crate,” and will go in when asked. At night, she sleeps soundly in her crate. On walks, Lola can get very excited when she sees other dogs, which can lead to pulling and some reactive behaviours, so dedicated training and support will help her build calmer leash skills. Indoors, she can be vocal at times, usually when she’s seeking attention or can’t see her people. While she does great sleeping in her crate overnight, she’s still working on daytime crating and being home alone and will benefit from continued support as she builds confidence here. With her affectionate nature, playful spirit, and love for people, Lola will thrive in a home ready to guide her energy and continue her training. If you’re looking for a fun, cuddly companion who brings both excitement and endless love, Lola might just be your perfect match! Think you might be the right fit to provide a loving home for Lola?
