Story
Petra | 2 yrs | Female | 46 lbs | Spayed | Dogs - Yes | Cats - Unknown | Kids - Yes | Husky Mix | House / Crate trained Meet Petra ❣️ If you’re looking for a fun-loving girl who will keep you smiling every single day, Petra might just be your perfect match! Petra was flown down from Manitoba. She has spent her entire life simply trying to survive, scrounging for food, fending for herself, and even enduring the devastating wildfires. When our friends at Save A Dog Network Canada reached out asking for help, we didn't hesitate. Petra has been in foster care and is now ready to find her furever home❣️ Petra is house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. She’s never had an accident in her foster home and settles nicely in her crate (with a little encouragement and a treat or two 😉). She may give a short whine at first, but she quickly relaxes especially once she knows it’s bedtime. This sweet girl is great with dogs and absolutely loves to play. She’s the kind of pup who flies in like she’s first in line at the ice cream truck all excitement and pure joy! She’s also wonderful with kids. Petra is full of personality. She’s energetic, vocal, and always ready to go. She thrives when she’s mentally stimulated and close to her people. She loves chew toys, squeakers, chasing a ball. But when the zoomies are done? She transforms into the ultimate snuggle bug. Petra gives the most heartwarming cuddles and will happily curl up beside you. Her little elf-like ears and the way she sits with one leg off to the side will absolutely melt your heart. If you think Pedra could be the missing piece in your home, apply to adopt through Backstreet Paws Rescue.

Story
Rascal| Male | 7 months old | 38.5 lbs and growing | Dog and Kid Friendly Rascal is a bit of a misnomer because this dog is pure good boy! He's a charismatic and confident, with a personality that says "hello, world!" This confidence makes him an easy companion and he loves to be included in the day-to-day routines of his people, seeing each as an adventure. Going for a drive? FUN. He loves to be a passenger, and even gets carried along in a little basket like a true VIP. Spending some time at the local brewery with friends? DOUBLE FUN. He'll soak up the atmosphere and all the attention he attracts with his gorgeous Husky looks. He absolutely loves to walk and likes to collect "treasures" like sticks and pinecones to carry with him. He walks well on leash and is so curious about everything and everyone he sees. Whether it's an outing or a quiet moment, Rascal just wants to be included. Like a typical puppy, Rascal has bouts of energy. He loves toys, playing fetch, walks, and backyard time. He also has an excellent "off switch" and is happy to chill once he's got his yayas out! He loves to watch birds and squirrels, nap, and cuddle. He's also very food and toy motivated, and therefore highly trainable. He's already learned "sit," "stay," "down," "recall," and "pee-pee" to do his business outside. He's smart and eager to learn. Rascal's love of people and easy trust of men, women, and children, is really special. He loves to engage with people and is at ease in social situations. He bonds quickly and easily, and is so affectionate. Because he thrives on being included and spending time with people, he'd benefit from someone who is home a lot of the time. He'd also love a backyard for playtime. He'd be fine as a solo or second dog. He can get along with anyone. Rascal joined us from northern Manitoba where he'd likely been involved in a car incident. He has now healed. We have him attending rehabilitation sessions, to build up his muscles in the affected leg. He's a very normal puppy in his abilities and therefore can do anything that a typical puppy can do. He's the sweetest boy with the best looks! Life with Rascal will really be a delight for his lucky adopter. He's extra special and will inevitably be the heart of whatever household he joins. Story
Elsa is a 1-year-old female Wolfdog, weighing 23kg. She was rescued just in time from a shelter where she was at risk of euthanasia. Now, she’s looking for a loving family who will give her the life she deserves. Elsa is full of energy, curiosity, and love, making every day an adventure! Personality & Behavior Elsa is a bright and affectionate girl who absolutely adores people. She expresses her excitement with joyful jumps when greeting her favorite humans. While this is endearing, she already understands the "sit" command, so with consistent training, she can learn to greet politely. Elsa thrives on human interaction and will form a deep bond with her owner through love, training, and patience. She is still learning how to socialize with other dogs properly. While she is not aggressive, she needs time and guidance to build confidence in dog interactions. Currently, she is undergoing training to help her navigate social situations with other pups. With continued support, she will improve and learn to play in a balanced way. Activity & Training Needs As a Wolfdog, Elsa is naturally athletic and has impressive jumping ability. She needs an active lifestyle with plenty of exercise to stay happy and well-behaved. A daily routine of long walks, outdoor adventures, and playtime will help her burn off energy and settle calmly at home. She is currently in training, where she follows a structured routine that includes three outdoor exercise sessions a day for potty breaks and play. If her new family maintains a similar schedule, Elsa will quickly adjust to her new home. Elsa is an intelligent dog who picks up training quickly. She already knows "sit" and is learning to wait calmly for treats. With consistent training, she has the potential to learn many more commands and become a well-mannered companion. The Perfect Home for Elsa Elsa will thrive in a home with: ✔️ An active family who enjoys outdoor activities ✔️ Someone committed to training and bonding with her ✔️ Experience with large dogs (or a willingness to learn) Elsa is young and still learning, but she is full of potential. With love, patience, and the right training, she will grow into a loyal and devoted companion. If you’re looking for a smart, energetic, and affectionate dog to share adventures with, Elsa is waiting for you!
