Story
Mako is an 8 year old Husky/Chow mix. He was part of a litter of 6 other dogs. He grew up in a household with other dogs and cats. Mako enjoys a fenced yard to play in and also enjoys relaxing in the living room on the floor, on a dog bed, or even a small sofa that he is allowed to get on. He loves treats! Who doesn't? He likes lounging around the house, very low maintenance. He does enjoy being pet! Mako prefers going on night walks when there aren't other dogs nearby. He also enjoys his personal time right next to you! Mako is excited to meet his new companion for life!

Story
Denali is a very sweet Siberian Husky who wants to be with people most of the time. She has done okay with our cat, but when excited can go overboard which can stress the cat out a bit. Not recommended with cats She was reported to do well with dogs, she is reactive to larger dogs in our home and would do best as the only dog. We are working on kennel training her, she gets stressed in a kennel so it’s a work in progress, consistent training would benefit her greatly. Denali should not be left out in the house alone as she may damage items or furniture/walls. She is incredibly intelligent and loyal, she will be a wonderful companion for someone and addition to a family. She has not been around young children (under 14) yet, but has not exhibited any behaviors that would suggest she isn’t child friendly. Adoption fee is negotiable, and highly recommend a visit/meetup

Story
Cheese is a sweet boy who loves to explore outdoors and see new sights, but when he’s tired he’s always down for cuddles. He loves to eat snacks and does not have any interest in toys. He was gotten as a rescue so I am unsure of his experiences as a puppy but he does not get along with cats. He prefers his own personal space when it comes to dogs and doesn’t like them in his face. He has met kids but hasn’t lived with any. He is pretty talkative when he has something to say but he will nap quietly for hours. I am unsure of his actual age but I think he is getting older and doesn’t have as much energy as he once did. Also as he is getting older he does have an occasional accident.

Meet Our Shepherd/Akita Girls! These beautiful 14-week-old female German Shepherd/Akita mix puppies are ready to find their forever families! Strong, smart, and stunning, these girls are going to be big dogs, so they’re looking for adopters prepared for large-breed companions who will grow alongside them.Currently thriving in foster homes, the girls are learning all about home life. Each puppy will go home on a spay contract, which will be honored by the time she reaches 6 months of age. Adoption fee: $600.00If you’re interested in applying, please email adoption@columbiahumane.org.
