Story
Buster is the kind of dog who turns heads — but it’s his personality that really wins you over. Smart, sweet, and full of husky charm, he’s been waiting at the pound far too long for someone to see what a great companion he is. He’s got the looks, the brains, and the playful streak that makes every day a little more interesting. Buster loves being out and about, soaking up attention, and showing off just how much potential he has with the right person by his side. This boy deserves more than a kennel. He deserves a couch, adventures, and someone who’s ready to make him family. Buster is available now — and ready to leave shelter life behind.

Story
Meet Nova! Nova is a spayed 7 yo 49lb husky/pittie mix. She is gentle and wants to please her people. She loves her "babies" aka stuffies! Being a husky mix she takes on the trait of a husky talker and will let you know if her dinner is late but has the perfect mix of the sweet, snuggly pit. Her foster has had her around kids around the age of 6 years old and she LOVED them. Even though Nova is an adult dog, she is ready to finally have a loving home to lay her head and live out her best years. If you are looking for a snuggly potato with a pinch of husky sass, Nova may just be your girl!

Story
I can be shy in new spaces. I need a family who will let me take things at my own pace as I learn about new things. Once I come out of my shell, I have lots of love to give.I'm easy going. Wanna go for a walk? Okay. Hang out in the yard? No problem. Just relax on the couch? I can do that. I'm pretty happy to go at your pace and I don't really need much more than most dogs do. If you're looking for a steady companion, I'm all yours. It's recommended I meet any dogs or kids living in my new home before I'm adopted. I just want to make sure we all get along.I'm not on the general adoption floor. You might not see me when you come to visit. So please speak to an adoption counselor if you'd like to meet me. Story
Ellie is a beautiful 1-year-old Siberian Husky who will absolutely melt your heart the second you meet her. She is incredibly affectionate and loves giving kisses. She thrives on companionship and loves being part of whatever her humans are doing, whether that's lounging at your feet, following you around the house, or cuddling up beside you at bedtime. Ellie gets along wonderfully with other dogs and especially enjoys playing with her foster family's husky. She loves stuffed toys, daily walks, and outdoor playtime, so she'd love to find a home that will include her in adventures and family activities. She is wonderful with kids. Ellie walks nicely on leash with a manageable husky pull. She comes when called in a secure yard, but like any true husky, she'll happily take advantage of an open gate or door to go on her own adventure. Her forever home will need to have a secure, fenced yard and remember that she's a true husky! Ellie would thrive with a family who wants a loyal companion, hiking buddy, cuddle partner, and best friend. She is an absolute GEM. Her foster family says she's the kind of dog you could easily fall in love with, and we think you'll feel the same way! Ellie is up-to-date on all vaccinations, spayed and microchipped! She is living in a foster home in Camas, WA. If you are interested in meeting her, please submit an adoption application: https://lifeofrileyrescue.org/adoption-application

What my friends at OHS say about me:I have been working with the Behavior and Training team here at OHS for consistency and am looking for a special home. It will take time and patience to get to know me. You'll need to meet with me multiple times before taking me home.To learn more about my specific needs, please read my What to Expect handout.Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.New things are a little scary to me, but I all I need is time and someone to show me it's okay.I am still learning how to walk on leash, especially in new environments that can be overwhelming. I need verbal encouragement, patience and of course treats from you to help me!I would prefer to live my life similar to that of an indoor cat. Just a chill homebody who doesn't stray farther than the backyard. The type of home I'm looking for:I would flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted.I must go to a home with a fenced in yard.I would flourish in a quiet, calm environment and a low-traffic home. No busy apartments or dwellings.Loud noises and unpredictable movements can make me uncomfortable, I would do best in a home with calm, older children. It could be with you!
