Story
Meet Sargent — the kind of dog who makes life feel steady. Sargent is a middle-aged German Shepherd with the best qualities the breed is known for: loyal, grounded, and deeply connected to his people. He’s not the wild, nonstop-energy shepherd type. He’s calm, laid back, and happiest just being near his person, keeping an eye on things and soaking up the simple routine of home. His favorite thing? A ball. Toss one his way and you’ll see that playful spark come alive. He doesn’t need much to be happy — a few games, a comfortable place to relax, and someone he can call his own. Sargent has that old-soul energy. He’s the dog who settles in beside you after a long day, follows you from room to room, and reminds you how much companionship can matter. He’s the kind of loyal dog who forms a real bond and means it. If you’re looking for a steady companion rather than chaos, Sargent may be your guy — a faithful best friend who’s ready for a home where he can finally just belong.

Story
Vaccinations CurrentMedical conditions NoneShe has been an incredible companion these last 6 years, loves hiking and receives endless compliments on how well trained she is, not to mention her eyes. She has been to Canada, mountain biking and enjoys the occasional swim in the river. Between work and personal travel she is spending far more time at day care and boarding than I'd prefer and think she would be best fit with someone who can give her the time and attention she deserves. I think she'd prefer another dog in the house as we used to have one. She loves learning new tricks, catching and searching for treats. You'll love herBehavioral concerns: None Currently She was originally rehomed in 2019 due to being found with another dog and allegedly had attacked a cat, I've not personally experienced this with her, and she has been around farm animals, including chickens with no issues. With that said, out of precaution, if you have a cat she may not be the dog for you.

Story
Shefa is a playful, intelligent dog with a big personality and lots of love to give. I brought her home when she was just three months old — the shy runt of the litter — and she has grown up in a busy home with five young boys, so she absolutely loves kids and thrives around people and other dogs. She’s high-energy, silly, and happiest when she’s running, playing, and doing her signature “prey and pounce” moves with other dogs in the field. Once she’s well exercised, she settles down nicely and loves showing off the many tricks she’s learned. Shefa would do best with an active owner or family who has the time and space to play with her and continue giving her the attention and engagement she loves.

Bear is a good boy who is not getting the love he deserves. I am a single mom of two and between working and school, with no backyard, he isn’t getting the exercise or time he needs. Looking for a good home for a good boy.

Story
Great news! My adoption fee has been paid by someone who loves me and wants me to find a great home.My foster knows me better than anyone! Here's what they had to say about me during my time with them:I am calm, gentle and lovable. I am easy to walk, intelligent and good at communicating with people. I love nature and playing with balls. I only bark when someone is at the door.I have some handling sensitivity. That means I have some preferences about how and where I get petted. My human friends at the shelter can tell you more!I'm easy going. Wanna go for a walk? Okay. Hang out in the yard? No problem. Just relax on the couch? I can do that. I'm pretty happy to go at your pace and I don't really need much more than most dogs do. If you're looking for a steady companion, I'm all yours. It's recommended I meet any dogs or kids living in my new home before I'm adopted.I just want to make sure we all get along.I'm available for Trial Adoption! If you're interested in taking me home for 2 weeks before making a final decision, please speak to an adoption counselor.I'm currently in foster and ready for my new home! If you're interested in meeting me, please email caninefoster@southwesthumane.org Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 50.6 Age: 5yrs 0mths 3wks
