Story
Meet Oatmeal, a sweet, shy soul looking for a loving and patient forever family. This handsome boy has been on an incredible journey—he started as a terrified street dog, but he has blossomed into an amazing adventure buddy who loves life and the people he trusts!Oatmeal is the definition of a slow burn. While he might bark at new faces visiting the house, he comes around quickly once properly introduced. Once comfortable, his true personality shines: he's incredibly goofy, playful, and will follow his trusted people anywhere! He has even advanced to letting strangers pet him while out on walks or in dog-friendly stores.Oatmeal thrives with a canine companion. He is wonderfully dog friendly and does best when he has a four-legged pal to help him be brave. His favorite thing in the world is to play with other dogs—he can happily go for hours!Oatmeal is a great houseguest and is otherwise perfectly behaved around the house—he doesn't get into anything he shouldn't! Because he is still overcoming his past, he does not do well when kenneled or separated from his dog friends. If he gets highly stressed by a lot of new people, he can regress and have accidents, so he needs a calm environment and a family who understands his need for gradual introductions.Oatmeal's favorite activities are hikes and anything outdoors. He is ready for new adventures with the people he loves!Oatmeal is looking for a home that is:-Patient and understanding of his shy nature.-Ready to include another dog as his brave buddy.-Committed to helping him continue his incredible journey. Please visit our site at https://www.jennisrescueranch.org/adopt for more information on how to adopt. Story
I’m helping my mom rehome her dog that she doesn’t have time for since moving into help care for her mother. She’s had Stella since she was a puppy; Stella was born in 2018, so she’s roughly 8 years old. She’s got tons of energy and would enjoy a big backyard. She’s only grown up with one other dog, so I’m unsure how she is with other dogs. She is a dominant female. My mom also has a cat, and they seem to coexist together well. I would say if you have another pet to slowly introduce them. Stella is rambunctious and can be a lot to manage. She’s house trained but She is not leash trained. Stella needs an experienced owner. She gets excited and jumps on people so I would be careful around small children. She is a loving dog and great guard dog!

I got Alanni back in 2017 from a friend of a friend. She’s always been a cuddle bug, and loves to run and play! I’m hoping she has the opportunity to be free in a yard or pasture and not confined to an apartment. Alanni is cuddly, loves to tell you her opinion, and make funny faces.

Story
She is a healthy, active, and affectionate dog with a lot of positive traits. She enjoys truck rides, walks, parks, and play sessions, and can play for long periods. She walks well on a leash and is comfortable being handled by strangers. She knows basic obedience commands including sit, down, and kennel, and will sit before exiting her kennel. However, she has ongoing behavioral challenges that have become difficult for us to safely manage despite significant training efforts and working with professional trainers. We have worked with training and management strategies over time, but her behavior has not improved enough to be safely maintained long-term in our current home environment.
