Loki is like a big teddy bear! He is so gentle, and he will try to climb in your lap.He really played well with our grandkids when they were here over Thanksgiving. He was very excited to meet them, and they even got him to play chase in the yard. He doesn`t show this playfulness when you meet him at the shelter, but it`s there! He doesn`t show any interest in playing with toys or fetching, though.He does like to mark everything in the yard. At first, we had to watch him very carefully when he was in the house, and immediately correct him and take him outside if he showed signs of marking in the house. It only happened a couple of times.He behaves very well on the leash, but we did have to keep him leashed. He escaped a couple of times when we left a door open, and he doesn`t want to come back. He will explore and actively run away from you when you call him.He`s a bit of a picky eater, and generally needed something added to his kibble (chicken broth, for example) to get him to eat it.He tolerates crating well, and will enter it on his own when we leave it open. He generally slept in it at night, though we didn`t close it after the first couple of days.Loki gets along wonderfully with other dogs and absolutely adores people. Whether he’s out playing with doggy pals or soaking up cuddles from his humans, Loki is just happy to be included. Meet Toby! ??This sweet boy is blossoming into a wonderful companion and is ready to find his forever home!Toby is a playful, gentle soul who’s learning that life can be fun and full of love. His favorite thing in the world? Chasing balls! (Although, fair warning—he might lay down about five feet away from you with it and call that a win. ??) He also enjoys playful chases with his humans and is always up for a bit of fun in the yard.He’s doing great with house training and is now considered fully housebroken—no accidents in over two weeks! He`s also mastered the doggy door, making potty breaks easy and independent.Toby is affectionate with his foster family and warms up nicely with a little time. He may be shy or a bit wary around new people at first and might give a little growl, but he’s not aggressive—just cautious. With a few minutes and some gentle reassurance, he settles in beautifully (even with kids!).He walks well on a leash and has had some fun adventures at the park. While Toby isn`t a fan of the crate, he tolerates it during mealtime, and he`s doing so well with his house manners that crating may not even be necessary.Toby seems to have limited vision, which means he sometimes needs a little help locating that thrown ball, but it doesn’t slow him down when it comes to having fun or showing love. He hasn’t had much interaction with other animals yet, but he calmly ignores the neighbor`s dog through the fence.Toby is looking for a calm, patient adopter who will help him continue to build confidence and feel safe.
