What a handsome Husky! Neville seems to know it too. He’s very happy to sit and smile pretty while you take as many pictures of him as you want…as long as you pay him in treats. He knows his angles and works them hard. He has yet to have a bad picture taken of him. He’s got great leash manners and is easy to handle. He will sometimes get excited and jump if you have something he wants like a treat. He’s very treat motivated and loves to snack. He always takes them nicely from your hand though! Neville has a medium energy level. After getting some exercise, he’s ready to relax and be pet. He enjoys going for walks and playing fetch with toys.

Story
A smart name for a smart boy…smart aleck counts as smart, right? You can tell Lector is super smart, but he only wants to show it off when he feels like it. Take sitting on command for example: he can do so beautifully, but only selectively. As a strong, independent thinker he sees no need to just blindly follow unless he feels like it. While independent, he’s also friendly. He loves to be pet and will lean as close into you as he can. He’ll also give you kisses as a thank you. When he’s not taking himself too seriously Lector lets his silly side shine through. Toys seem to bring out that part of him. He’ll even play with them by himself! He typically has an average energy level.

Story
As things heat up around here everyone in Texas can only dream about snow. But we have the coolest Snow in the state right here at FBCAS! JK. This handsome Husky is just as hot as the rest of us. If you’ve seen his picture then you know how good looking Snow is, but he’s also super smart! He already knows the commands sit, stay, and down. He’ll probably pick up more tricks quickly if there’s treats on the line – he loves his treats! He’s a good leash walker too – as long as you let him take a break to smell any interesting looking plants. While he has a playful side, Snow typically has a medium energy level. After getting some energy out he’s ready to relax and be pet. His favorite kind of pets are belly rubs!

Story
Hello, my name is Gracie Lue and I'm a fun-loving girl who loves to play, loves to cuddle, and loves to eat. I am very smart and will sit on command for a treat. I love to be outside but have to have some shade and a big bowl of water because my coat keeps me very warm all year round.  I like to keep busy so I need plenty of toys, puzzles, chew treats, and cuddles all day.  I am a very friendly girl and never met a stranger.  I am still learning not to jump up because I just get so excited to be around my people.  My foster mom says that I need some training, but lucky for me I am very smart and a quick learner but you know us  huskies are stubborn.  I am looking for a family that is willing to continue my training, and take me on adventures with them. My adoption fee is $200 locally in Houston, TX or can transported  out of state for $550 (includes health certificate and transport fee).  It includes all my vaccines, spay/neuter, and microchip. Story
Bailey is the sweetest girl and has never met a stranger! Originally saved by rescue after she was run over and her owners couldn't afford to help her, she eventually had to have one of her legs amputated. She loves to go on walks and having three legs does not slow her down a single bit! She can jump, run, and play like any other dog. She runs right up to all houseguests to say hi and gets full body wags when she’s excited. She enjoys being outside to sun herself and is pretty mellow and relaxed most of the time. She can goof around too, and she likes to play with both human and dog companions. She is great with most dogs; however, she does not get along with older dogs and dominant dogs, and a home without cats is also best. She’s wonderful with kids.

Story
Moana, now almost 4 years old, was adopted from TSDR 2 years ago and is sadly being returned due to her family's changing work schedule. She loves to play catch and run from one side of the house to the other. She's a well-behaved girl who allows her humans to cut her nails, wash her, brush her, etc. She also has a tendency to snore! Moana is both house and crate trained, and would make a wonderful addition to a family able to give her the attention she needs.

Foster is a sweet boy who loves his humans and gets along great with his foster siblings. He knows sit and shake, and is both house and crate trained. He would do best with a stay-at-home human. Born 1/3/18, he was surrendered to rescue after repeated escapes from the yard of his original owner. This good boy is thriving in his foster home and ready to find his fur-ever family!

Sweet boy Cap’n Crunch was picked up by TSDR's medical foster from a shelter where he was a stray and never reclaimed. This affectionate, dog-friendly, handsome boy is hoping YOU are ready to give him the furever home he deserves! He’d be good as an only dog or living with one that can handle his intense style of play.

Story
TSDRs Tucker2 was transferred back to a foster home after “working” at our boarding facility. After he was returned from his last failed adoption he went to our board-n-train for additional training. He graduated and became one of the star pupils who they used for training and socializing new dogs that came in from other rescues for training and/or evaluation. He is doing well back at the house and loves playing with foster siblings Alex and Alita. He is house and crate trained. He is a strong willed and smart husky that needs an experienced owner (no first time owners) who will continue to give him structure and guidance or he will likely regress to being a brat again! He is a sweet boy and has matured since his early days. He prefers a home with no young kids! He’s also not a fan of having his paws messed with (including nail trims). He listens well and is good with correction.

Story
Hi I’m Oso!!! I am a Rottie-Chow mix.  My name means "bear" in  Spanish. My foster mom says I looked like an old grisly bear and now I am a soft, fluffy, and cuddly teddy bear. My journey is unfolding into a story of healing, hope, love, and the search for a  permanent home with my very own family. The first day of the rest of my life. On 2/2/24 my foster family found me wandering around a gas station. I felt invisible. I know lots of humans saw me asking for help, but they just turned away. I started to wonder if I even existed. Then it happened I realized  a person looking AT me. She was moving her mouth but I couldn’t hear anything. Thankfully she squatted down and was making hand gestures  like  she was actually calling me. I thought “Could it be possible that she actually sees me AND wants me to go to her?“ She seemed friendly, so I starting walking towards her, but it took a minute. I had a very hard time moving. My legs were painfully bound by my dirty and knotted fur. Each step I tried to take hurt terribly. Regardless, I put on my most brave and handsome smile, and kept moving. Secretly, I was worried that when I got closer and she really saw me (and smelled me) she would also turn  away like the others. When I finally got to her, she reached out and touched me. I know by the soft look in her eyes and the gentle touch of her hands I was finally safe. That was the moment I knew I would never have to look back at the life I bravely broke free from and desperately needed to forget.  My past. My skeletal frame covered by heavily matted fur gives  testament of a lifetime of deprivation and heartbreak. My foster mom discovered an old injury, a healed broken rib, that told her of the pains I’ve had to endure. The chain hanging heavily from my neck spoke of the years I spent tied up, only dreaming of running in open fields. It also is proof that I was brave and found the strength to break away  in search of freedom and a life I knew existed and wanted so badly.  I am resilient.  Despite my tribulations, my spirit has never waned. At heart I am youthful, reflecting the playfulness of the puppy I never really got to be. My energy manifests in bursts of joy but is quickly followed by long serene naps.  What makes me truly special, aside from my resilience, is a very unique trait that captures the hearts of those I meet.  One my foster family has fallen in love with from day one. My adorably unforgettable nose and a smile that's all my own! I have cleft lip, but it doesn’t bother me. I think it makes me extra special. My journey as a hearing impaired dog hasn't dampened my spirit; it's a part of what makes me, OSO!  I’m not ashamed, I am proud. I’m HAPPY! Happy all the time!  I have HOPE!  Under the care of my loving foster home, my life has taken a turn for the better. Each day is a step towards recovery, gaining weight, and building the strength that was once stripped from me. My health, once a concern, now shines brightly with a clean bill, including a heartworm-negative status, proving that I am on my path to not just surviving, but thriving.  My dream is simple: a forever home where the grass under my paws and the sun overhead are daily joys. A secure yard for my adventures, and a family that appreciates quiet companionship as much as I do. Though I might not seek out couch cuddles, being by your side, engaged in play or exploration, is where I find my happiness. The family I imagine will understand my journey, offering guidance and strength as I continue to grow in spirit and in health. My ideal human companions will be ready to continue the work of building my confidence and manners, especially as I navigate my newfound interests in toys and the company of other confident dogs. I’m making my mind up about small pup and cats, but I am VERY sure I love to chase squirrels. My foster family said there is perfect home for me, because I’m “the goodest boy ever.”  I am Oso, a survivor, a friend, and a gentle soul seeking a place where I can embrace  being loved and the gift of loving  in return.  My adoption fee is $200 locally in Houston, TX or $550 out of state (includes health certificate and travel fee). I am up to date on shots, neutered and microchipped. Fill out an application at https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=SQYPSGVQJuly 26, 2024, 10:53 am
