Come see her at the Benbrook Animal Shelter located at 469 Winscott Rd., Benbrook, Texas, 76126. We are open for adoptions Tuesday through Friday from 10 AM to 3 PM, and Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM. You can also call Ursula at 817-262-3086 to schedule an appointment

Jolene is a 3 year old husky/shepherd mix. She is sweet, smart, and energetic. She knows basic commands, is potty trained and crate trained. She does require a daily walk or game of fetch. She unfortunately does not get along with our toddler so we have decided it would be best to find her a home with no kids or older kids that can understand her need for space. We do have another dog who she gets along with great.

I am very loyal to my human friends, and I love nothing more than to cuddle up with them and give them kisses. I love to play and run around, but I also love to sit back and observe my surroundings. I am a very funny dog, and I love to make my humans laugh. I am very friendly, so I am sure I would get along with other dogs just fine, have never met a cat so not sure about those. I am a young dog, so I have lots of energy and love to explore. I am looking for a forever home where I can get lots of love and attention. Kayla was outside the first year of her life but easily adapted to being part of a family. She loves to play and be with her people. She is doing much better with her manners but still gets excited when playing so would be better with older children in the household. She is house and crate trained, loves doing zoomies in the backyard, especially if she has a friend to play with! She is enthusiastic and a people pleaser.! She has one blue eye and always has a smile on her face.

Story
My wife found DJ at an outreach event. He was drawn to her and stayed close to her majority of the event. Nobody claimed him. Nobody had any idea of potential owner. Without 2nd thought, she couldnt leave him there and brought him home. This was mid October 2025. We took him for de-worming and shots. Vet said he was three months old back then (7mo old now). DJ is athletic and playful. Loves people and children but because he can be too playful, younger children should be advised; not that hes aggressive, just playful. House trained. He communicates when its time to go outside. Very trainable and intelligent. As he is maturing the playfulness is calming down and hes become abit more enjoyable on the couch. He is cage trained. Sleeps overnight in cage without fuss, same with leaving for work. Its only because of our lease and cost of care that we need to re-home him urgently, otherwise... this is not easy. Will give all the supplies with DJ: cage, toys, towels and remaining food.
