Story
Meet Freda, a 3-year-old terrier mix with markings so dramatic you’d swear she’s wearing Frida Kahlo’s signature brows. Maybe in a past life she was an artist… or a dancer, given how nimble she is. Or maybe she’s simply the diva she knows herself to be — and honestly, the world should revolve around her. Freda is the total package: house-trained, crate-trained, leash-savvy, and quick to show off her “sit” on command. She knows her name, and she knows what she wants — whether it’s your attention, your lap, or an extra treat or two. She’ll bark to let you know how she feels, but really, she’s talking more than barking. Think of it as Freda’s way of reminding you she deserves the spotlight. She plays well with other dogs, but when it comes to home life, she prefers to be the leading lady. Snuggles are her love language, and she’s happiest when she’s being spoiled, adored, and treated like the star she is. With Freda, you’re not just adopting a dog — you’re welcoming a muse, a performer, and a cuddle bug all rolled into one irresistible 14-pound package. If you are interested in meeting please fill out an application at our website: www.gobeyondrescue.org/adopt Our adoption fee is $550 and includes spay/neuter, microchipping and up to date vaccines. We adopt within 200 miles of San Francisco.

Story
Bugsy is a great buddy to have around. He is about 18 lbs and around 6- 7 years old. He enjoys going on walks and loves to wander around in the yard in his wheels or scooting along, play with his toys, happy all snuggled up with his people, and just hanging around. Bugsy loves the toys at his foster home and doesn’t mind sharing them. He is the sweetest and most loving guy you will ever meet. He has been around all sizes and breeds of dogs and gets along great with them He enjoys the company of other dogs but he would be just as happy to be an only dog if his person was around most of the time to keep him company. If not then he needs a canine companion for company. Bugsy is very affectionate but doesn’t require a ton of attention to be content.  He is pretty low-maintenance and will happily follow your lead. Bugsy doesn’t use his back legs but do not be fooled since he is still an active guy and can go many places with his wheels or rear harness. He is very good around young kids and lives with one now. Bugsy is exceptionally loving and eager to please. He knows what he is being told and if you are looking for a smarty to be part of your family he is the guy. He will bring lots of warmth and terrier-silliness to your home. Give him a chance and he will steal your heart. Bugsy also needs a new foster home if not adopted. He is now being fostered in Belmont, CA and his adoption fee is $275. Arrangements to meet our dogs occur after an application has been received. Please contact us at dogzonerescue@yahoo.com for more information about this great guy or for an application to adopt.

Story
Kobi is a super sweet guy who is very loving and really smart. He is also a hugger. He is about 3 years old and 17lbs with short legs. He catches on to what you are telling him fast and responds pretty quickly to it. He gets along great with all the dogs in his foster home and settled into the pack in a week. Kobi loves to run around with the ball in the yard, sunbathe, and do the zoomies. In the house, he likes to sit next to you and keep you company wherever you are. He is a loyal little guy, and you matter most in his life. He loves to be held like a baby and will stay like that as long as you want. He is good with older dog-savvy children, but he can get annoyed if they do not leave him alone when he wants to be and will grump. He is a very good boy who just has a lot to say. He is also a great watchdog. He will bark when he hears noises near his home, so he would not do well in an apartment building. Kobi is house-trained, walks well on a leash, rides in the car well, sleeps in his own bed, and loves to be covered! He mostly just hangs out, and he would be a good addition to a home with another or multiple dogs. He wouldn't do well as an only dog with his parents gone at work all day, since it is clear he loves to have others around to be with. Kobi is being fostered in Santa Clara, CA. His adoption fee is $325.00 Please contact us for more info about this sweet boy or an application to adopt at dogzonerescue@yahoo.com Arrangements to meet our dogs occur after an application has been received.

Thank you for your inquiry. Trigger has an adopter but we have to wait for them to go pick him up after the stay at home is lifted. Once he is picked up we will remove his profile. Please do not write to us for an application. Sorry for any inconvenience. Trigger is only 11 inches tall and 19 pounds. He has all the wonderful traits you expect in a Jack Russell Terrier. He is very affectionate. He is about 7 years old and a snuggle bug that lost his previous person to illness and is looking for his own person to worship. He loves to lie out in the sun and go in the garage to look for mice. He plays okay with other dogs of all sizes. He would love to be an only dog if his person was around a lot but he wouldn’t like being left alone for 8 hours a day without canine company. He is untested with cats. Trigger is ok with children over 7 years old. He loves giving and getting lots of attention. Adores treats, walks, car rides and cuddles. He is an active kind of guy, always looking for adventures in everyday life. He is a real character and is full of love for his people. He sleeps in his bed all night long though he really would prefer yours so he can cuddle with you. He is a very quiet and smart dog who understands what you are saying to him. Trigger really is a sweetie pie that needs a forever home with someone who will love him forever. Trigger is being fostered in San Francisco. His adoption fee is $275.00. Story
Cleo is a one-eyed wonder and has completely forgotten about losing an eye in a dog attack.  Agile and athletic, Cleo is a 12 lb., 2 yr-old Terrier mix and displays Terrier behavior such as loving to play with toys, loving to go for long walks and is inquisitive about anything new in her world. Cleo came from a situation where she was under-socialized and displays fearful behavior. We are working on behavior training and she is becoming much calmer.  Little Cleo is potty trained with regular potty breaks.   Cleo is a one or 2 person dog, and makes friends with new people very slowly. She lives OK with a companion dog, and an ocassiional dog visitor, but we think she would prefer to be an only dog in her future home. Due to her young age and training, Cleo will age into a proper little companion. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Cleo is $300. If you are interested in adopting Cleo, please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area. See our other available dogs at  https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/available-dogs/ December 21, 2025, 3:38 pm

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Meet Sol’s Solar System: The Planet Puppies  (Yes, they are out of this world.) Before we blast off into puppy introductions, a very quick word about Mom: About Mom: Sol Sol — named perfectly, because she is the calm, grounding force at the center of this entire universe — came into rescue already pregnant and handled motherhood like a total professional. She’s about 15 lbs, scruffy, sweet, and quietly hilarious. She raised six puppies with patience, structure, and zero drama, then politely handed them off like, “They’re ready. I’ll be over here relaxing now.” We’ll share more about Sol in her own bio later — just know she did an exceptional job and these puppies are confident, social, and thriving because of her. About the Puppies These Schnauzer-Terrier mix puppies were born in rescue on 10/22/25 and are expected to be under 20 lbs full grown. Dad is unknown — think Cracker Jack box surprise, but the good kind.Adoption Fee: $70010 weeks old Compatibility report:Dogs? Yes.Cats? Yes.Kids? Yes.Homes with laughter, movement, and the occasional stolen sock? Absolutely. They’ve been raised around dogs, cats, humans big and small, and everyday household life — so they’re adaptable, confident, and ready for their next adventure. And now… let’s meet the planets themselves.  MERCURY – Male Mercury may be the smallest, but he has main character energy. The only puppy with light brown coloring (everyone else went black-and-white), he looks like a tiny lion who missed the memo about his size. He is fearless, fast, and convinced he’s the biggest dog in the room. True to his planetary namesake, Mercury is the speed demon of the litter. Once the zoomies begin, no sibling stands a chance. He loves cuddling with his bigger sisters Earth and Saturn and wrestling with his brother Mars. He’ll melt you instantly with his fluttery eyes and affectionate hugs — then immediately sprint away like, “Catch me if you can.” VENUS – Female Venus is the Black Swan of the litter — dramatically fluffier than everyone else and fully aware of it. Sweet, playful, and people-oriented, she’s equally happy flopping onto a pillow next to you or launching herself into playtime with joyful abandon. She’s a social butterfly with contagious energy, often the first to grab a toy and invite others to join. Watching her chase a mop or dive headfirst at a ball is pure comedy. After burning through her energy, she’s also the first to curl up for a nap. Venus is loyal, loving, and the kind of puppy who makes every day feel brighter just by existing. EARTH – Female Earth is the thoughtful observer of the group. Identifiable by her solid black face, white stripe, and two spots on her back that resemble North and South America, she likes to take a moment to assess before diving in — but once she’s comfortable, she’s all in. She has a gentle, nurturing streak and can often be found cuddling different siblings throughout the day. Earth loves people, gives affection freely, and has a calm, reassuring presence. She’s the kind of pup who makes everyone around her feel safe, seen, and loved. MARS – Male Mars may be one of the smallest, but his heart is huge. With a solid black face and white chin, he started out as the shyest of the bunch — watching carefully before joining in. As his confidence has grown, so has his playful, goofy side. He adores cuddling with his sisters and is wonderfully adaptable around dogs of all sizes. His favorite toy is a rope, and once he gets going, he’s one of the two certified goofballs of the litter — tumbling, chasing, and romping with pure joy. SATURN – Female Saturn is the largest of the litter and the undeniable leader. With spots on her back resembling Saturn’s many moons, she is athletic, adventurous, and brave. She observes first, then launches into action with impressive speed — her zoomies are legendary and sometimes end in a joyful floor slide. Despite her bold energy, Saturn is deeply affectionate. She’s the first to greet humans, loves being near her people, and will happily flip over for belly rubs for as long as you’re willing to provide them. Confident, loving, and endlessly fun — Saturn is the full package. NEPTUNE – Male Neptune has soulful eyes and a personality to match. With two symmetrical spots on his back that look like wings, he’s inquisitive, intelligent, and deeply connected to his humans. He studies people carefully, locks eyes, and somehow makes you feel like you’re the most important person in the room. He also has the biggest appetite — for food, affection, and life. Neptune balances confidence with gentleness, loving cuddles just as much as playtime. He’s brave, forgiving, and endlessly sweet — an athlete with a heart of gold. Final Orbit Notes These puppies are playful, affectionate, social, and adaptable — ready for homes with dogs, cats, kids, and people who understand that puppies are joyful chaos wrapped in fur. If you’re looking to add a little planetary magic to your life… your universe might be missing one of these stars. January 3, 2026, 4:39 am
