Story
Meet Milo, an adorable 13-year-old senior dog! Milo and Daphne came into rescue as their previous owner passed away. Although he might be a bit older, Milo still has lots of love and affection to give to his forever family. He would be the most successful in a home with no cats, dogs, and with a fence, preferably a privacy fence. He does not jump fences, but does bark and growl at other dogs so it would be best if he does not have to interact with other dogs. Milo is the perfect companion for someone looking for a more low-key, yet affectionate dog.He loves to cuddle and snuggle. He is used to being alone at home. Milo is very loyal and will stick by your side through thick and thin. He would do best in a calm and quiet home where he can take life at his own pace. Milo may have a hard time getting along with other dogs, but he's sure to steal your heart with his charming personality and loving nature! He is not a fan of fireworks and thunderstorms so he does have an anti-anxiety medication he takes as needed. *More information and photos added over time. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application at http://legendsrescue.org/index.php/adopt/forms/ FOSTER CARE: Our rescues are fostered in individual homes or at our facility. We work hard to ensure that our rescues have a supportive family while at foster homes to help them move forward and get ready for their forever home. We work on training, crate-training and socialization before a dog is adopted out. Foster homes are extremely important to the success of the cat at their forever home, and it is extremely rewarding to be able to watch the cats growth as you help them on their journey to their happy ending. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please fill out our application at http://legendsrescue.org/index.php/adopt/foster-application/ YOU CAN HELP: If you’re not able to foster or adopt right now, please consider sponsoring a Legend. Your donation will help with our care and pay for medical costs. Visit this link http://legendsrescue.org/index.php/donate/ to donate.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Sheridan! When Sheridan found her way into the rescue she was thin and emaciated. She has been settling into her Texas foster home and receiving some much-needed TLC! One thing you'll quickly notice about Sheridan is her intense love for food. She's so eager to eat that she inhales her meals in record time. To help her slow down and enjoy her food more, her Texas foster parent uses a special dog bowl designed to help dogs slow down when they eat and separates her from other during feeding time. Recently, Sheridan's foster parent discovered that she's very fearful of storms. The loud thunder sent her into a panic, causing her to break out of her crate in search of safety and comfort. Now that this is known, there are many ways to help her feel more safe and comfortable during storms, including something called a thundershirt!  Sheridan has many favorite parts of the day. As mentioned, Mealtime is definitely at the top of her list, she also enjoy sitting in her loved ones laps, playing with toys and she enjoys having the freedom of using the doggie door to go in and out as she pleases. While she will go into her kennel, she would much prefer to be out and about in the house, hanging out with her humans! Sheridan has some quirks that make her unique like the funny moaning sounds she makes. She is only 1 year old and still has some puppy tendencies that require patience and supervision. She's prone to chewing on things if left unsupervised, and her intense focus on food means she'll dig in the trash or counter surf if given the chance. Sheridan has not been introduced to children or cats. Sheridan is from Texas.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Coco is a spirited and affectionate dog eagerly seeking her forever family. Known for her warm and outgoing nature, Coco adores human interaction and forms deep connections with her loved ones. Currently working diligently on kennel training, Coco struggles with separation anxiety, often vocalizing when alone, requiring patient guidance and consistent reinforcement. Her favorite pastime is playing fetch with her beloved ball.  Fueled by her boundless energy and food motivation, training sessions are both enjoyable and productive. Her strong prey drive leads her to chase birds, squirrels, and rabbits, necessitating careful supervision outdoors, and she is not suitable for homes with cats. Coco is potty trained and impressively agile, demonstrating her high energy by effortlessly climbing into high places. She lives as the only dog in her current foster home and is actively undergoing leash training to manage her reactivity towards other dogs. With her trainable nature and a nurturing environment, Coco has the potential to make remarkable progress in her behavior and skills. If you're looking for an affectionate companion willing to give her all in return for understanding and commitment, Coco could be your perfect match!   Coco is from a local impound. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Milo is a super friendly and loving guy who adores being loved and playing. He's the sweetest, funniest dog you'll meet. He was initially an only dog, but he has adjusted well to having playmates and would thrive either as a solo pet or with other dogs. Milo loves to run around the backyard with his two foster siblings, playing and doing their business. After a good romp, they come back in for water and food before heading out again for more play. Inside, they continue their playful antics until it's time for a nap. He's a healthy pup who just needed a bit more weight when he first arrived. He has been gaining weight nicely! Milo gets incredibly excited every time he sees you, even if you just stepped out to check the mailbox. His whole body wiggles with joy. If you are looking for a dog that makes you feel loved and will welcome you home with so much excitement, Milo may be the dog for you! Milo does bark a little when left alone but usually settles down if there's another dog with him. He would do best with another playful dog or an active lifestyle to keep him engaged and happy. Milios is from Texas.  One big thing you should know is they are heartworm positive - but please don’t let that scare you away from adopting them! After they undergo treatment for their condition they will be completely healthy again, and heartworm is not a contagious disease. Because they need treatment, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) program.   Click here   to learn more about this program. They will get heartworm treatment at one of Ruff Start’s partner veterinary clinics in St. Cloud, so their foster will need to be comfortable getting them to and from the appointments. Treatment will consist of three injections: the first will be roughly 30 days after they enter rescue. Then, the second and third injections will happen 30 days after the first. When they are undergoing treatment, they should be on activity ‘restrictions’ which just means they should relax in their crate or cuddle with you.     Click here   to learn more about heartworm disease, which is transmitted by mosquitoes.   If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an   adoption application.   An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
