Story
Snapshot of Sully: Size? Small-ish. I weigh 20lbs which is surprising when you look at my physical size. Activity Level? I play hard and snuggle harder! Noise Level? I bark to let you know something new is happening but quite down quickly Good with Dogs? Yes! My size or smaller is preferred. Good with Cats? Cats are boring. I ignore them. Good with Kids? I love kids! Good with Strangers? I love everyone! Potty Trained? Yes - but I mark occasionally. Now that I'm neutered it is becoming less and less! Crate Trained? I don't love my crate. But I do well outside of it. Shedding? I don't shed much About Sully: Sully is a super fun dog who absolutely adores people! He likes to follow us where we go and typically jumps up onto the couch before we even finish sitting down because he gets so excited for cuddles! He is still young, so he has a good amount of energy. But we've been able to manage it well with playtime in our back yard and having toys in the house for him to enjoy. His favorite toys are nyla bones and stuffies with squeakers in them! Although the squeakers don't tend to last long. He currently lives with cats, dogs (of all sizes), and kids. He ignores the cats and loves the kids! He does well with our dogs for the most part. But certainly prefers the ones that are his size or smaller. He met a Mastiff once and it didn't go well. So we've been avoiding XXL dogs and sticking with medium size dogs or smaller. He likes to play bitey face and chase or be chased! He's fast for how small his legs are! Overall, Sully is a really great dog and a joy to have! He is goofy and has the funniest body shape. But that adds to his personality! He has wire hair, with border collie coloring, and the abdomen length and ears of a corgi. He was recently neutered and we've noticed the marking has become less and less. So the need for a belly band has decreased with it! Outside of the occasional marking, he is potty trained. He will sit in a crate if he absolutely has to. But after a while he does start to whine. So we've left him out of a crate when we're gone and he has done great! Sully is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for his age. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $250 plus tax Meet Melo with the wagging tail that never seems to stop.  Melo is a playful dog who loves to run, play and explore. He is incredibly friendly and affectionate with people. He loves to look out the window and watch TV. Although he can get pretty excited when he spots a squirrel or his favorite team scores. He is reliably housetrained and enjoy’s sleeping in bed with you or in his kennel. Melo would do well in a home with a yard where he can run and play. Melo does best with slower intros to other dogs who are also willing to engage in some playtime shenanigans. Kids are great but he will want to play with them and may jump up on or knock them over in excitement. We do not know how Melo is with cats.  **Melo has a condition called hypoadrenocorticism (Addison's disease) which is when the adrenal glands do not function properly. The adrenal glands produce numerous important hormones that help to regulate the body. With Addison's disease the adrenal glands do not make enough hormone to properly regulate the body so supplementation is necessary. There is no cure for Addison's disease but it can be well managed with twice daily oral medication and a monthly injection. Recheck bloodwork every 6-12 months will also be required to make sure he remains on the correct medication dose. Cost for the medication is about $50-60 per month. When well-managed with medication Melo can still live a happy and healthy life with a normal expected lifespan. *Melo has had only one crisis and that was when he was first diagnosed. He has had no signs of sickness since being on his meds.***       Please feel free to fill out an ADOPTION APPLICATION by clicking on the button below. Thank You!       Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.   //

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Alejandro was found in a very bad situation.  Abuse and neglect were suspected.  He is learning to trust humans again. He will need a very quiet and calm home.  No young children to scare him.  No large or hyper dogs either. He is good with other calmer dogs and dog savvy cats.    Noises and fast movements cause him to pee... so patience and love is what he needs.  Training would be great to help give him the confidence he is lacking.  All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. First priority will go to someone who lives in the twin cities metro in order to bring to a vet visit.  Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 12, 2024, 10:07 am

Story
Bella Marie is a super sweet senior looking for her forever home. She has been through a lot the last few months and deserves a home that will love her forever! Her previous owner died and she clearly misses him so much. She was anxious when she first came to her foster but she quickly warmed up and now loves being in the mix and getting lots of rubs. Bella is very quiet - she’s never barked in her foster home. She gets along with her foster siblings — they all keep to themselves. She is great on a leash and loves a car ride and chewing on her rawhides. She would be the sweetest companion for anyone looking for a best friend. Bella is about 10 years old and weighs 20 pounds.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.April 11, 2024, 9:33 pm
