Cookie is a sweetie pie 5-year-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix with a soft, sensitive demeanor. She may be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, Cookie becomes affectionate and is starting to open up in her Texas foster home (especially when other dogs are out and playing!). Cookie would do best in a calm home, ideally with another friendly dog to help her feel secure. She can be a bit timid around new people and situations, because of this, her future family will need to be mindful about keeping her safe and preventing escapes, as she may run if she gets frightened until she builds relationships with her people and starts to feel safe. Cookie is very intelligent and extremely food motivated! Treats are the key to her heart, especially jerky treats and Himalayan yak chews. She is easy to handle, eager to please, and enjoys toys and cuddle time. She is mostly potty trained but may need a refresher as she adjusts to a new home and routine. She’s also working through a few minor skin issues that should continue to improve with regular feeding, grooming, and good care. With patience, consistency, and lots of love, Cookie will blossom into a loyal and devoted friend. Canica is sweet and friendly after a little time to warm up and see new things. She is good with other dogs. She is living with cats and doing just fine. We always recommend proper intros when meeting new feline friends. Canica is fully house trained and is crate trained. She does fine confined in an area with things to do during a work day. All new dogs may have accidents in a new home. Canica loves toys and plays fetch. She even enjoys playing outside in the snow. Canica likes to wear clothes and would do great learning to wear boots too! Because she is a bit of a wallflower, Canica would do great in a basic training class to help bond with a new family too. Sawyer came from a hoarding situation. He is a bit shy but with the help of our staff and a loving adopter he will make a great addition to any family. He needs to interact with people as he didn't get much interaction in the situation he was in. We are working on leash and potty training.
