For at least a week, this sweet girl stayed by the front door, hoping the person she knew would come back for her. She didn't understand that she'd been abandoned. She just waited for her person to return. People visiting the gas station would sometimes buy her food, so she didn't go hungry, but nobody stepped up to give her the help and safety she needed. We searched for her owner, but no one ever came forward. Thankfully, some wonderful people finally stepped in and got Maisie the care she deserved.
