Story
Adora is a gorgeous, 22 lb, 1.5-year-old girl that absolutely loves love! Adora came from a local gas station along the Texas/Mexico border where she lived for what we think, almost her whole life. She was not spayed at the time, and she was brought to our attention from the employees who said a bunch of male dogs were always chasing her. We couldn’t let that go, and stepped in to get her safe at the first of July 2026. Adora is what the foster considers a perfect dog. Cats? Great with cats! Dogs? She loves other dogs but would be fine without other dogs! Leash Trained? She is leash trained! What is a fun quirk about her? If she thinks you’re leaving, she will throw herself in front of you and roll on her back to guarantee she gets belly rubs before you go. She will ALWAYS make sure she gets her belly rubs in. Adora is calmer, but gets super excited with human attention. We think it’s because she has not had much attention living at that gas station. It’s so normal to see stray dogs in the area. Adora loves exploring and would be great as an adventure partner as well as a dog that can just hang out at home and in the backyard. If you live an apartment, please consider a lot of activity and/or even doggy daycare. She is such a Velcro girl, and is so loyal. She would be WONDERFUL with children. Adora is crate trained and working on mastering house training. A home who understands she needs some work, is a must. She knows how to sit and is very much a people pleaser. Loyalty is her middle name. Adora is always seeking attention from her humans. Someone home more often than not is preferred. Adora is spayed, heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport. PLEASE READ BELOW: To apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals out in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. We ONLY do adopt in Central US and the East Coast. The adoption fee listed ($625) INCLUDES transport from Texas to the Northeast. Transport goes to the following locations every 2-3 weeks: Albany, NY Wells, VT and Brattleboro, VT Nashua, NH – Only one transport company goes here, times vary Willington, CT - Stamford, CT - Dayville, CT Steubenville, OH – Cincinnati, OH – Grove City, OH Grove City, PA and Washington, PA Ridgefield, NJ and Mt Laurel, NJ Emmitsburg, MD and Elkton, MD Falls Church, VA and Glenn Allen, VA We have happily adopted hundreds of animals this way (long distance), and we do our best to make sure the animal you are applying for is best fit for your home. With an approved application, we do put you in touch with the Texas foster who has the doggy for you to make sure the pup is the perfect fit

Story
**Please note this is pet is currently out of town pet but we will transport this pet to NJ for you when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** Looking for a new friend? Buddy can be your go-to best buddy! This young pup is athletic, funny, playful, friendly, and great with other dogs. He's an outgoing dog who loves to run around and play, but he's also perfectly content to relax and take it easy — especially with his favorite humans. If you're looking for a fun-loving medium-sized dog, look no further than Buddy Rich! He is built to bring joy and laughter to your life, and he'll always be up for a game of fetch or a walk in the park. Ask us about your next best Buddy today — you won't regret it! Buddy is a little over a year old and around 37 pounds. Interested in becoming this pup’s forever home? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs — for them, one application will be fine. Because we have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news, and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions finding our fur babies the most loving homes. Please do not apply if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Buddy the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age-appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention, and travel expenses. All our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for their transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed.

Golden Years, Golden Girl: Meet Sadie Age: 9 yearsWeight: 15 lbsBreed: Terrier mixFully vetted • Spayed • ChippedFostered in: Suffolk County, NYAvailable in: NY, NJ, CT, PA, ME, VT, VA, DE, MD, RI, NHApply to adopt at houndsinpounds.org Her StorySadie and her best friend Rae Rae lost everything when their owner passed away. The people who were supposed to care for them instead abandoned them at one of Atlanta’s most overcrowded shelters. Two senior girls, terrified and confused, clinging to each other as their world collapsed. We couldn’t leave them there — so we didn’t.Now safe in foster care, Sadie is slowly remembering what it feels like to be loved again.  Who She Is Sadie is a gentle, affectionate terrier mix with a soft heart and a sensitive soul. She’s sweet, loving, and sometimes a little needy — and honestly, after everything she’s been through, she deserves to be. She’s also great with both dogs and cats — a gentle, easygoing senior girl who gets along with everyone. Here are a few of her favorite things:Snacks — her preferred love language, currency, and guiding star Warm laps — her royal chaise lounge, reserved exclusively for queens Quiet, cozy spaces — the enchanted nooks where she recharges her sparkle Becoming your shadow once she feels safe — a Velcro sprite with seniorsweet devotion Napping through entire TV seasons — a tiny dreampowered bingewatching wizard She’s a pocketsized terrier mix with big feelings, a bigger heart, and just a hint of whimsical seniorgirl magic.  Her Perfect Home A calm, peaceful home where she can spend her golden years doing what she does best: snacking, snoozing, and soaking up love. She’d thrive with someone who wants a loyal shadow and a builtin cuddle buddy. ##2711946##

Story
Meet Aru | Apply Here Aru is a 2 year old, 15lb terrier mix that was pulled from the Incheon shelter in South Korea. She’s got scruff for days and is just the most gentle little lady. Though she’s only just arrived in the big city, Aru is making leaps and bounds of progress. She’s settling in nicely and has begun asking for love by nudging or licking available hands. At home she’s very calm and chill, but with growing interest in toys and people who knows what the future holds for her. Aru is doing wonderfully with crate training and walks outside like a pro. She is occasionally startled by loud noises and moving things, but honestly who isn’t? More than anything in the world (for now) this girl loves a good belly rub or ear massage. Scruff Queen is making her debut this Sunday! Come check her and all of her friends out - but don’t forget to submit your application ahead of time!   Meet Us At Our Next Adoption Event Where: KCBC - 381 Troutman St, Brooklyn, NY 11237 When: Sat August 22nd Time: 12pm-3pm   Learn more about our adoption process: www.koreank9rescue.org/adoption-procedures www.koreank9rescue.org/adoption-faq   Korean K9 Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit saving dogs from the Korean dog meat trade and overcrowded shelters. John - 12 weeks & 10lbs (as of 7/22), Collie/Terrier, Neutered Estimated to be about 35lbs full grown  If you would like to see a video of this dog please click HERE!  This puppy is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Level of dog ownership experience required:INTERMEDIATE – As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Relevant puppy care experience is a huge plus, but bare minimum the adopter must have TONS of time and patience. Raising a puppy can be a lot of fun, but it’s also  tremendous work. Puppies’ personalities and exercise/stimulation requirements change dramatically between now and when they’re a year old as their bodies and brains develop, so an active lifestyle and the ability to adapt to a pup’s evolving needs are a must. We strongly urge professional dog training with a rewards based trainer from the get go. Adults only or kids ages 8 and up – all puppies go through a mouthy, rambunctious phase and often accidentally hurt children when playing. PLEASE DO YOUR OWN BREED RESEARCH to make sure you have a better understanding of the kind of temperament and exercise requirements this dog may have as an adult. Energy level:MEDIUM – Very young puppies sleep and nap a lot, but their energy level skyrockets when they become teens (4 months to around a year). As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day at a minimum. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Potty trained?Working on this skill. Puppies under 12 weeks old are often on track with their wee pad skills, but they’re too young to walk outside in public NYC areas yet because they haven’t finished their puppy vaccine series. Puppies older than 12 weeks are usually learning to do their business outside. Potty training takes a lot of patience, consistency, and clean up.  Social with dogs?Yes. Some puppies are shy, others are bold, but all have the potential to be taught healthy socializing skills. It’s a huge part of raising a puppy and must be done carefully. How they interact with other dogs depends largely on how their humans help them learn to.  Social with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)Sort of – some puppies enjoy interacting with children, others get easily overwhelmed by their energy and attention. Regardless, most puppies are not a great match for a home with kids under age 8 because they go through intense mouthy play and rambunctious phases and often accidentally hurt young kids while playing. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age respectfully.   Social with cats?Yes. Most puppies have the potential to be friends with a cat. It’s on the adopter to know their cat’s temperament and preferences and to teach their puppy respectful manners.  Mouthy play: High! All puppies go through phases where they chew your stuff and grab your hands, arms, feet… puppies naturally explore the world, play, and test boundaries with their mouths. (It also happens when they’re teething.) Their teeth are super sharp, so it can be a very painful phase for humans and other animals in the home. Proper training, outlets, and socialization are key. Separation anxiety:Most puppies have some level of separation anxiety as they learn to self soothe. Often they cry the first 10+ minutes at night or when they are left home alone or in a crate. Consistent training and alone time is crucial. Leash manners:None or learning, depending on the puppy’s age. Will need to work on this skill.   Crate trained?Probably not. None of our new puppies have been formally trained, but many of our foster parents/adopters choose to crate train so some of the puppies that have been with us for a little while are learning this skill. It can be a great way to keep puppies safe and teach them independence. Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP and Bordetella vaccines, spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake. (For dogs under 4 months old, adopters will need to finish the DHPP vaccine series and administer the Rabies vaccine at 16 weeks of age.)How did this dog end up with Social Tees? Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses.  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org and Instagram @socialteesnyc ##2799389##
