You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application.The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Hi my name is Roxy! I was taken from a home that could only be entered by first putting on a respirator, and gloves along with my half-sisters Isabell & Smokey. Smokey and I have lived together all of our lives, so for that reason we must be adopted together. PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 5/13/23 Still available! 2/15/23 Colby was rescued from living life on a chain. He suffered through every season outdoors on a chain without shelter and usually without food. He drank rain water because often times that is all he had. Once we were made aware of the situation, we were able to rescue Colby, a litter of 10 week old puppies, and 2 other adult dogs from there. One of the other dogs and all of the puppies have been adopted. Colby is very energetic and friendly with everyone. He gets along well with other dogs and is very outgoing and happy. He would make an excellent running out hiking partner. We believe Colby is about 1-2 years old and is probably a mix of many different breeds with no dominant breed identifiable. He weighs about 40-50 lbs. Colby did have heartworms on intake but has been treated and is doing great. There is a transport fee of $125-$140 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email.
