Story
Goose was recently taken in by a family, but they didn't understand his energy level and exercise needs. We're now helping them find the right person for him. Goose is nine months old and 38 lbs. as of March 2, 2026.  Goose is a loving, energetic Jack Russell Terrier mix who deserves a home where he has space to run, play, and truly thrive. He is potty trained and knows sit, shake, and fetch. He’s incredibly smart and eager to engage. He would do best in an active home where he can get plenty of attention and structure. He's good with other dogs and older kids, but still jumps so small children may not be a great fit. He is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $275 and you can apply online if you're interested in meeting him:  Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Ollie is a very handsome boy! The young girls just think he's so cute! He's bright as well; loves to chase the ball--yes, and bring it back. He sits beside me on the couch and looks to me now and then, so charming. Ollie needs a new home because, sadly, we are having aging issues and not as able to give him what he needs. We do regret this change to come. We are looking for a kind person who has a yard and is willing to see Ollie through the years he has left.

Story
I acquired him from two baseball players in college. They realized that they do not have a lot of time for him. He is a wonderful dog and very playful. He would be great with someone who has dogs his size to play with, a yard to run around, or older kids to play with. He would also be a great outdoor dog or I could see him going on runs or hikes. He has his rabies shot and is neutered. He is about 9 months old and about 2 ft tall. I truly want to find him a home where he will be happy and have kids/dogs to play with. He is a smart dog that can fetch, sit, shake, and is house trained. He stays in his crate at night. I have him in a crate while I’m at work.

Story
Calling all Jack Russell Terrier lovers! Are you looking for a true, full-of-energy JRT? Meet Akira – The Playful Adventure-Seeker!  Akira is a spirited Jack Russell Terrier who’s ready to bounce her way into your heart!Weighing just 15 lbs, this pint-sized bundle of energy is the perfect companion for an active person or family with older kids. True to her breed, Akira is incredibly smart, curious, and always on the lookout for her next adventure.   She absolutely loves going for walks, playing with her toys and dog puzzles. Akira does well with older, respectful kids (teens) who understand how to interact with dogs. She isn’t the best fit for families with young children, as she doesn’t enjoy their high energy or playful handling.   She gets along with other dogs and enjoys their company, though she prefers slow, gentle introductions when meeting new furry friends   Akira is potty trained and is comfortable using potty pads or a doggy door. She is also crate trained, spayed and up to date on shots.   Akira would thrive in a home that offers plenty of physical and mental stimulation. Her ideal family is one familiar with Jack Russells or similar breeds who can give her the activity, stimulation, structure, and love she needs to stay happy.   Akira’s loving nature and adventurous spirit make her an amazing addition to the right family. She loves car rides and due to her size, she is the perfect companion for going literally anywhere!   Are you ready to be her forever companion? Learn more about our adoption process below and fill out an adoption application to take the first step in giving Akira (and Aisha!) the home they deserve! Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. Meet Liberty: From Devoted Mama to Your New Adventure Buddy Liberty is a beautiful white and brown terrier who has officially finished raising her puppies — and now it’s her turn to be someone’s baby. This happy, energetic girl greets each morning ready to go! From sunrise until about 8 PM, Liberty is full of life, tail wags, and enthusiasm. Whether she’s heading out for a walk, hopping in the car for an adventure, or playing with other dogs, she’s all in. She would thrive with an active family — especially one with another dog who can match her playful energy. Liberty is: Housebroken Great on a leash A fan of car rides Dog-friendly and playful While she has plenty of pep in her step, Liberty has a soft side too. In the evenings, she happily settles into her bed — or better yet, onto your lap for cuddle time. She loves being close to her people and soaking up affection after a full day of fun. Because of her zest for life, Liberty would do best in a home with older children who can appreciate her excitement and playful spirit. She prefers sleeping in her own cozy bed and enjoys spending her days out and about rather than in a crate. After giving her all to her puppies, Liberty is more than ready for a family who will give their love right back. If you’re looking for a loyal, lively companion who balances adventure with affection, Liberty might just be your perfect match. ##2637152##
