Story
Meet Nuri! 1.5 years | 18kg | Spayed Female | Jindo Mix | Brown   Rescued from a dog meat farm on October 31st, 2024, Nuri has shown an incredible heart and resilience.   She’s friendly and affectionate, always approaching both familiar and new people to ask for pets and cuddles. Sometimes she barks at strangers at first, but a treat quickly turns her into your best friend! She loves both women and men, and although she hasn’t met young children yet, she’s gentle and easy to handle — you can even lift her up and she’ll relax once she trusts you.   With Other Dogs:Nuri is playful, social, and loves to meet new dog friends. She enjoys playing with dogs her size or bigger, and usually gets along with smaller dogs too. However, if a small dog challenges her, she may stand her ground — she’s confident but not aggressive. She can play well with high-energy dogs and often rolls over to show her belly to bigger ones.   With Cats:She hasn’t met cats yet, but testing can be arranged.   Energy Level:Moderate. She enjoys outdoor activities and walks, but also relaxes quietly after playtime.   ‍ Walks:At first, she didn’t know how to walk on a leash, but now she walks calmly beside her handler, maintaining a nice distance and good rhythm.   Other Behaviours:She doesn’t guard food from people or dogs, though she may give a small growl if another dog tries to take her food — she stops right away when corrected. Nuri isn’t anxious when left alone, but she doesn’t like being confined — she’ll scratch the door asking to come out, though she doesn’t bark much. She’s calm in a kennel, though still new to the car rides. She currently does her potty outdoors.   Nuri is affectionate, intelligent, and ready to bring joy to a loving home that appreciates her warm personality and playful energy. She’s a truly special girl who deserves her forever family! Send in your application through our website!  Please visit our Facebook or Instagram. Story
Name: Changhee Age: 4 years old Sex: Female (spayed) Breed: Jindo mix Colour: Brown / Black Weight: 21.5 kg Height: 56 cm (to shoulder)   Rescue Story: Changhee was found wandering alone in a rural village and was taken to a city shelter, where she was sadly placed on the euthanasia list. Fortunately, she was rescued just in time and is now safe, waiting for her forever home.   Personality & Temperament: Changhee can be a little shy at first, but she warms up quickly—especially if you offer her a tasty treat! Once she feels comfortable, she enjoys gentle petting and being near people. She hasn’t met children under 13, but she remains calm and polite around adults.   She’s quiet, calm, and very well-mannered indoors. She rarely barks, doesn’t guard food from people or other dogs, and travels quietly in her kennel. She walks beautifully without pulling, always keeping pace with her person.   Changhee has a balanced energy level—she enjoys outdoor walks and fresh air but relaxes quietly at home afterward. She prefers to greet other dogs politely rather than play and usually keeps to herself. Her reaction to cats hasn’t been tested yet.   While she may seem independent and not overly affectionate at first glance, she recognizes her people and greets them with quiet joy and loyalty. She would make a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates a calm, steady, and loyal dog. Story
Meet Gold Age: 10 months (as of October 2025) Weight: 14.1kg Breed: Jindo Mix Color: Brown Sex: Neutered Male Height: 42cm   Rescue StoryGold was rescued from Wanju Shelter on July 26, 2025, just before his scheduled euthanasia, together with his sister Hwang. The two siblings have been living safely and happily in their foster home ever since.   Personality & TemperamentGold can be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly — especially when offered treats! Once he trusts you, he enjoys gentle pets and being close. He tends to bond more easily with women and may feel cautious around unfamiliar men at first, but once comfortable, he relaxes completely. He’s wonderful with children under 13, calm and gentle, and allows himself to be lifted with arms under his belly. Sometimes, even with new people, he’ll roll over to show his belly. When he first arrived, he would show his belly to everyone right away — now he saves that gesture for people he truly loves. Gold enjoys quiet companionship and loves lying next to his person on the bed. He’s affectionate but not demanding, and he’s just as content spending quiet time on his own. Indoors, he shows his sweetest and most loving side.   With Other DogsGold is polite and gentle with other dogs. He tends to feel uneasy around dogs larger than himself but gets along well with smaller or similar-sized dogs. Because of his timid nature, he prefers calm dogs over those with high energy. Even when other dogs bark or challenge him, Gold simply steps away rather than react. Having lived with his sister Hwang since rescue, he feels more secure when another dog is nearby.   With CatsOn walks, Gold might curiously look at cats but follows his handler calmly without chasing.   Energy Level & Behaviour He prefers being indoors over outdoor play and loves curling up in cozy spots. After walks or outdoor activity, he settles down quickly.   ‍ Leash & WalksHe walks well but may pull slightly as he sniffs around — he likes to stop often to explore scents! In quiet areas, he walks with confidence, but on busy streets or in loud noises can get nervous.   Other NotesGold doesn’t guard food or toys, and rarely barks. He can get in and out of the car on his own and does not experience motion sickness. He may whine softly when left alone, but it’s mild and improving as he gains confidence. He is mostly outdoor potty-trained, though he occasionally makes small mistakes indoors. Gold enjoys toys and nosework games, and though he’s a bit sensitive to loud sounds, he’s always curious and willing to learn. Baths, brushing, and nail trims are all manageable — he’s patient and trusting. Gold is a gentle, thoughtful, and affectionate boy who blossoms once he feels safe. He’s looking for a kind and patient family who will give him time to shine and discover how much love he has to give.   Foster IG: @hwangold__ Send in your application through our website!  Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram. Story
Meet Hayang (4 yrs, Spayed Female)   Breed: Jindo Mix Color: White / Gray Weight: 16 kg Height: 51 cm (shoulder height)   Rescue Story Hayang was rescued from a neglect situation. Her previous owner, who struggled with alcoholism, was hospitalized and left her unattended. A concerned neighbor brought her to the local shelter, where she was sadly listed for euthanasia until rescue intervened.   ‍ Human Socialization Hayang is incredibly affectionate and loves people — both familiar faces and strangers. She happily approaches, leans in for attention, and allows touch easily.   She used to tremble around men (likely due to past abuse), but now accepts gentle male touch comfortably. She also does very well with children under 13 and can be gently lifted while being held.   Dog Socialization Hayang is social and friendly with both known and unfamiliar dogs. She’s the type who chooses one dog she really likes and plays with them nonstop rather than playing with a big group.   She prefers dogs with a similar body size and especially enjoys companions she can confidently play-wrestle with. She avoids conflict even if another dog challenges her and gets along well with high-energy dogs. If your home already has a playful dog, the two may keep each other entertained all day!   Cats No experience living with cats. Cat-testing can be arranged.   Energy Level Moderate. She enjoys outdoor activity but settles calmly afterward.   ‍ Walks She’s an experienced walker — does not pull and follows her handler well.   Other Behaviors • No resource guarding toward people or other dogs • Originally not food-motivated, but after shelter living she now eagerly asks for treats • No separation anxiety • Rarely barks • Rides well in a car and stays calm in a kennel • Currently potty trained outdoors Apply to Foster or Adopt at www.adoptmekr.org Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram.
