Story
Meet Gold Age: 10 months (as of October 2025) Weight: 14.1kg Breed: Jindo Mix Color: Brown Sex: Neutered Male Height: 42cm
Rescue StoryGold was rescued from Wanju Shelter on July 26, 2025, just before his scheduled euthanasia, together with his sister Hwang. The two siblings have been living safely and happily in their foster home ever since.
Personality & TemperamentGold can be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly — especially when offered treats! Once he trusts you, he enjoys gentle pets and being close. He tends to bond more easily with women and may feel cautious around unfamiliar men at first, but once comfortable, he relaxes completely.
He’s wonderful with children under 13, calm and gentle, and allows himself to be lifted with arms under his belly. Sometimes, even with new people, he’ll roll over to show his belly. When he first arrived, he would show his belly to everyone right away — now he saves that gesture for people he truly loves.
Gold enjoys quiet companionship and loves lying next to his person on the bed. He’s affectionate but not demanding, and he’s just as content spending quiet time on his own. Indoors, he shows his sweetest and most loving side.
With Other DogsGold is polite and gentle with other dogs. He tends to feel uneasy around dogs larger than himself but gets along well with smaller or similar-sized dogs. Because of his timid nature, he prefers calm dogs over those with high energy. Even when other dogs bark or challenge him, Gold simply steps away rather than react. Having lived with his sister Hwang since rescue, he feels more secure when another dog is nearby.
With CatsOn walks, Gold might curiously look at cats but follows his handler calmly without chasing.
Energy Level & Behaviour
He prefers being indoors over outdoor play and loves curling up in cozy spots. After walks or outdoor activity, he settles down quickly.
Leash & WalksHe walks well but may pull slightly as he sniffs around — he likes to stop often to explore scents! In quiet areas, he walks with confidence, but on busy streets or in loud noises can get nervous.
Other NotesGold doesn’t guard food or toys, and rarely barks. He can get in and out of the car on his own and does not experience motion sickness. He may whine softly when left alone, but it’s mild and improving as he gains confidence.
He is mostly outdoor potty-trained, though he occasionally makes small mistakes indoors. Gold enjoys toys and nosework games, and though he’s a bit sensitive to loud sounds, he’s always curious and willing to learn.
Baths, brushing, and nail trims are all manageable — he’s patient and trusting.
Gold is a gentle, thoughtful, and affectionate boy who blossoms once he feels safe. He’s looking for a kind and patient family who will give him time to shine and discover how much love he has to give.
