Story
Meet Cocoon Age: 2 years Sex: Neutered Male Breed: Jindo Mix Color: Brown Weight: 16 kg (35 lbs) Height: 49 cm (shoulder height)   Rescue Story   Cocoon was rescued from a small mountain village where he had been confined in a raised wire cage, kept for meat purposes along with two other dogs. A kind individual began secretly taking care of them. Around Boknal (the traditional summer days associated with dog meat consumption), the two other dogs disappeared. Determined to save the remaining dog, a report for abuse was filed, and after significant confrontation with the owner, Cocoon was finally rescued in October 2025.   He is now experiencing life outside of a cage for the very first time.   ‍‍‍ Social with People   Cocoon is affectionate and friendly, not only with familiar people but also with strangers. He happily approaches for pets and leans his body in for affection.   He currently lives with children under 13 and does very well with them.   When his people return home, he can get overly excited and may jump up enthusiastically — younger children could accidentally get knocked over during these moments. With structure and training, this can continue to improve.   He allows being picked up (arms under his belly) and will show his tummy once he feels comfortable.   Social with Other Dogs   Cocoon is generally friendly and curious with other dogs. He approaches both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to greet and initiate play, especially those similar in size or larger than him.   If another dog challenges him, he may respond, so careful introductions are important at first.   With dogs he knows well — especially confident “big brother” types — he can be submissive and even roll over to show his belly.   On walks, he wants to greet every dog he sees. His enthusiasm can be overwhelming for shy dogs, and if another dog reacts defensively, Cocoon may stand his ground rather than back away.   Cats   Cocoon has not been formally tested with cats. However, he does show interest in birds and small movements outdoors and may try to lunge toward them. While manageable on leash, he appears to have some prey drive. A cat-experienced home would be safest.   Energy Level   Having lived confined for much of his life, Cocoon is now discovering the world with curiosity and excitement. He is highly interested in everything happening around him.   Previously, he would become very excited when seeing other dogs during walks, but he is gradually becoming more stable and regulated.   With sufficient outdoor activity and enrichment, he settles nicely at home.   Walking   Cocoon can pull on leash, especially at the beginning of walks due to excitement and curiosity. After about 30 minutes, his energy noticeably decreases and he walks more calmly.   With consistent daily walks and routine, he continues to improve.   He enjoys sniffing much more than fast walking — expect lots of stop-and-go sniff breaks.   Other Behaviors   • Does not guard food from humans • May growl if another dog approaches while eating • Accepts treats politely when sitting side-by-side • Can be vocal when playing with other dogs • Calm in a kennel • Jumps in and out of the car independently • Primarily eliminates outdoors • Marks frequently during walks   Ideal Home   Cocoon would thrive in an active home that can provide: Consistent structure and leadership Proper dog introductions Continued leash and impulse control training Plenty of outdoor enrichment   He is a resilient, affectionate survivor who is learning what it means to be safe and loved.   After everything he has endured, Cocoon deserves a home where he will never be confined again — only cherished. 🐾✨ Meet Pika — A Gentle, Social, and Affectionate Aspin Boy ✨🐾 📍 Location: Korea 🇰🇷 (able to fly once adopted ✈️) 🐶 Name: Pika 🎂 Age: 10months ♂️ Gender: Male ⚖️ Weight: 11KG 🐕 Breed: Aspin (Philippine native dog) 🧡 Personality & Social Skills He loves people of all ages and genders and bonds very quickly. He previously lived in a resort environment in the Philippines, where he was exposed to many people and animals. 👩 With women: Excellent. Friendly, affectionate, and comfortable from the start. 👨 With men: Excellent. No hesitation and warms up immediately. 👶 With kids: Very good. Pika enjoys being petted and staying close to children. If children are running or screaming loudly, he calmly moves away on his own. With gentle kids, he may play quietly or simply observe nearby. 🐶 With dogs: Excellent. Polite greetings and good social manners. He plays when invited and relaxes calmly otherwise. Avoids conflict and moves away from dogs that bark aggressively. He lived with both large and small dogs at a resort in the Philippines. 🐱 With cats: Good. He may briefly sniff, but if there is no reaction, he quickly loses interest. Previously lived alongside stray cats. 🏠 Energy Level & Lifestyle Pika has a medium energy level. Indoors, he plays nicely with dog friends or entertains himself quietly with toys. When no one is engaging with him, he settles down easily and rests. 🚽 Habits & Training ✔ Fully house-trained ✔ Uses outdoor potty areas, indoor pee pads, and artificial grass ✔ No separation anxiety ✔ Quiet — no excessive barking 🖐 Handling & Touch Very affectionate and loves physical contact. A true lap dog with endless cuddles. 🐕 Leash Walking & Travel ✔ Walks well on leash ✔ Rides comfortably in cars ✔ Has experience traveling by boat and airplane 🚪 Escape Tendencies If startled or frightened, he may instinctively try to run. Basic supervision is recommended in new environments. 🚫 Aggression None. Pika is socially aware and immediately respects warning signals from other dogs. 🌈 Rescue Story Pika was rescued in the Philippines. His mother and littermates were killed in a traffic accident, and he appeared alone at a resort at just 2 months old. Because he was so young, other dogs prevented him from eating properly, leaving him severely malnourished with serious skin disease and unable to walk well.He was rescued at around 3 months of age in October 2025 and spent two months in a veterinary hospital receiving treatment and rehabilitation. After making a full recovery, he stayed at the resort while completing health checks and travel procedures.

Story
Janggo Age: 2 years Sex: Spayed Female Breed: Jindo Mix Color: Beige, Black, White Weight: 15 kg Height (shoulder): 50 cm   Rescue Story Janggo was rescued from a wildfire-affected area in 2025. She had been taken by a household to be used as a wild boar hunting dog, but because of her gentle nature, she was deemed unsuitable. Instead, she was tied up and left to guard a field.   ‍‍ Personality with People Janggo is naturally affectionate and enjoys being around people, but due to her past of being tethered and isolated, she can be cautious and a little timid with strangers at first.   If someone nearby has treats, she will approach on her own—sometimes pawing gently to ask for them . When approached for petting, she may briefly step back, but once she feels safe, she lowers her body and comes closer, even lying down to be petted.   In open spaces, she may initially avoid being caught and run before settling. However, once she bonds, she becomes very affectionate—approaching first, rolling onto her back, and asking for belly rubs   It took her about three weeks after rescue to fully trust her caregivers at the center. She can be picked up by supporting under her belly, and once comfortable, she happily shows her belly.   She also knows basic commands such as sit, down, and wait.   With Other Dogs Janggo is very social and friendly with other dogs. She approaches both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to greet and play, regardless of their size. Even if another dog provokes her, she tends to avoid conflict and shows a gentle temperament.   With Cats She may try to chase moving cats during walks, but shows little interest in cats that are stationary.   Energy Level She has a moderate energy level. After sufficient outdoor activity, she settles down calmly to rest. When she has compatible playmates, she enjoys running and playing, then resting in between . If there are no playmates, she is content to relax on her own.   Leash & Walks Janggo is both curious and a little cautious. On calm, familiar routes—or when following interesting scents—she may pull slightly in the direction she wants to go.   In busier urban environments, she tends to stay close to her handler. She often walks with her ears slightly back, showing she may feel a bit uneasy in crowded areas. Sudden loud noises can startle her at times.   Other Behaviours • No food guarding toward people or other dogs • May bark to ask to come out when other dogs are being let out • May show demand barking before meals • Tends to bark along if other dogs bark at unfamiliar people • Settles in a kennel after a brief period of whining • Experiences motion sickness in the car • Primarily does outdoor potty • Tolerates baths well and is calm during nail trimming • Overall gentle and easy-going temperament   Janggo is a sweet and gentle girl who just needs a little time to build confidence. Once she feels safe, her affectionate and loving personality truly shines Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram! Mari | 4-Year-Old Spayed Female | Jindo Mix   • Name: Mari • Age: 4 years • Sex: Spayed Female • Breed: Jindo Mix • Color: Brown & White • Weight: 7.2 kg (15.9 lbs) • Height: 37 cm (14.6 in) at the shoulder   Rescue Story   Mari was rescued in June 2023 from a rural property where she was being raised for meat.   Social with People   Mari is an affectionate and friendly girl who loves people. She happily approaches both familiar and unfamiliar individuals, leans in for attention, and enjoys being petted.   She is comfortable with both men and women and has a very gentle temperament.   Mari has not been tested with children under 13, but based on her sweet and sociable personality, she is expected to do well with respectful children.   She can be picked up easily by placing your arms under her belly, and once she feels comfortable, she will roll over to show her belly for rubs.   Social with Other Dogs   Mari is very social with other dogs. She eagerly greets both familiar and unfamiliar dogs and often invites them to play.   She responds positively when other dogs sniff her or initiate play. If another dog becomes too pushy, she simply walks away rather than reacting.   Mari is curious and friendly even with larger dogs, although she tends to play most comfortably with dogs of a similar size and energy level.   Cats   Mari has not been tested with cats, but a cat test can be arranged upon request.   Energy Level   Mari has a moderate energy level.   She enjoys walks and outdoor adventures, but after exercise she settles down nicely and relaxes quietly at home.   ‍ Walking & Leash Skills   Mari loves exploring the world through her nose and enjoys sniffing during walks.   She does not have extensive leash experience, so she may prefer to follow her own interests rather than walking in a perfect heel, but she is very manageable and responds well to gentle guidance.   When she sees cars, she may pause to watch them for a moment before continuing her walk.   Other Behaviors   No food guarding with people or other dogs. No signs of separation anxiety. May bark briefly when greeting people she is excited to see. Rides calmly in a crate. Car rides can be a little scary, so she may need to be lifted into the vehicle. Currently uses both pee pads indoors and eliminates outdoors. With regular walks and a consistent routine, she will likely transition easily to full outdoor potty habits.   Ideal Home   Mari would thrive in a loving home that can provide regular walks, affection, and positive reinforcement.   Her friendly and adaptable personality makes her a wonderful companion for both first-time and experienced dog owners.   Mari is a sweet, social, and joyful girl who is ready to bring lots of love to her forever family.
