Story
Meet Charlee! If you love a dog with a scruffy face and tons of personality, Charlee might just be your perfect match. He’s a happy, social guy who enjoys making dog friends. He does well with other friendly dogs, but if another dog isn’t interested in being nice, Charlee isn’t afraid to return the favor. He’d much rather spend his time with dogs that want to play. This handsome boy is all about the simple things in life: tennis balls, tasty treats, and hanging out with his people. He’s learning his basic manners, including sit and stay, and is eager to please. He rides well in the car, walks nicely on leash, knows his name, and has great recall. Charlee is affectionate and loves being around people. He was wonderful when young children stopped to give him pets, though he hasn’t lived in a home with kids or cats, so we can’t say how he’d do full-time. Overall, he’s an easygoing, fun-loving pup who’s ready for his forever family. ##2787725##

Story
Maui is a beautiful, sweet, and silly 100lb Double Doodle (her wisdom panel shows 45% Labrador Retriever, 32% Golden Retriever, 22% Poodle, and 1% Flat-Coated Retriever). Maui sleeps in her kennel at night and is great around other dogs of all sizes once proper introductions are done. She adores cats in her current foster home. She has decent leash manners and enjoys going on walks. Maui also has already had an incisional gastropexy, so no future risks of GDV, or “bloat”. If you are interested in meeting Maui, please complete the adoption application. We go through a multi-step process for our dogs that includes meeting at the fosters home, a home inspection, and reference checks.

NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY APPLIED TO ADOPT FAUNA. Please do not apply if you are retired and over the age of 70. Fauna is only 3 and we’d like to guarantee she spends the rest of her life with her next home. Fauna is a 3 year old (April 2023) Australian Labradoodle who is about 18-20 lbs. She generally has a calm temperament, is relatively quiet, and will find every opportunity to sit on you. She enjoys both stuffed and rubber toys and is quite treat-motivated when it comes to training. She is flexible in energy levels - she can stay home all day or she can run laps at the dog park. She is likely the best fit with someone with a younger household with similar energy levels as her and who doesn't mind a slightly anxious dog. We love her and would love to spend the rest of her life together, but unfortunately, some medical issues on our part have arisen and we can no longer keep her. She has no known major medical issues aside from some mild seasonal allergies.

Story
Snoot-Yowie's name was picked out for her before she came to us. Our 4 year old created the name and when we went to the shelter my daughter passed up several other dogs in search for the one she had been dreaming about, Snoot-Yowie. Snoot is now roughly a year and a half old. She has always been an energetic pup. She loves to chase other dogs and be chased. She loves being cuddled by members of our family or those she knows well enough to trust. Her happy place is the dog park or an open space that she can chase a ball. Snoot is anxious and reactive, making a house with unfamiliar small children and lots of adventuring into the community encountering strangers a bit too much for her to handle. She would probably benefit from a home that has another dog or two that she can run with as part of their pack. Snoot is a sweet, loving protector who believes she is a lap dog.

Story
Jack is a 3-year-old, handsome blonde German Shepherd mix. At 60 pounds he is medium-sized, smaller than the average Shepherd. An unclaimed stray, Jack was in the shelter for a long time, where he was a favorite of the shelter staff. He will be a delightful, loving home companion to his adopter. In his foster home, Jack is very sweet and affectionate, nearly velcro as he follows his foster human around and quietly settles wherever his foster dad is. Jack enjoys being petted and, once comfortable, loves tummy rubs. Jack is initially shy when meeting new people. However, it doesn't take long for Jack to become comfortable with those he trusts. Jack is one dog that takes his time "sizing up" people. Jack loves indoor living and is doing his best to learn house manners. He waits to be invited inside from the yard with the word “inside”. He carefully watches and follows the cues of the resident female German Shepherd, seemingly unsure of making his own decisions. He will probably do best in a setting with a confident dog whose lead he can follow. Jack is a quick study and is easy to train. He corrects very easily with a soft “no”. Jack sleeps in a crate and normally goes in on command. He has done quite well at mostly selecting approved dog toys to chew, but occasionally likes to sample a magazine. Jack has done well learning housebreaking, and does not have accidents provided that he is taken outside at appropriate times and intervals. He sits eagerly to have the leash put on, and delights in quiet walks with lots of opportunities to sniff and mark. Jack is an excellent traveler on road trips Jack still startles easily, and may become uncomfortable when joggers rush up, or in crowds, or in response to unexpected movement or noises. He has made tremendous progress on this in a few weeks in foster, and we expect that it will continue to improve with appropriate exposure and training. He will do best in a quiet home without a lot of commotion. Jack has done very well with the two German Shepherds in his foster home. He imitates the behavior of the mature female, who is a great role model. He is able to keep the play at a gentle level with the rowdy young male who tends to get wound up and play too roughly. Unknown whether Jack could live with a cat. On walks, he is overly interested in cats and squirrels, and will pull hard on the leash.
