Story
Name: Bernard Breed Guess: Labradoodle Age: 2 years old Gender: Male Weight: 62 pounds Shelter Temperament: Sweet & Friendly Children: Unknown Cats: Can be tested upon request Dogs: Meet and Greet Required Adoption fee: $550 Likes: Belly Rubs Playing outside Snacks The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Story
Breed Guess: Labradoodle Age: 2 years old Gender: Neutered male Weight Guess: 85 pounds Children: Unknown at this time Cats: Unknown at this time Dogs: Meet and Greet required Housebroken: Yes Adoption fee: $550.00 This is what our volunteer Deb had to say about Cooper after she met him: Meet Cooper. He is well mannered, fully housetrained, and is a very friendly guy. Sadly, he just got much bigger than "advertised" and he is a bit too strong (when excited) for his mature & soft spoken retired parents. He LOVES a good run at the dog park! I was able to get him to heal on a loose leash (with a couple reminders) even in this stimulating environment. He is a smart & attentive dog with a playful, young spirit. Although he does not have a crazy energy level, he will need regular exercise to be happy & well behaved. He goes to the dog park a few days a week with his current owners but walking him is a bit more difficult for them. He has the more wirey type coat (versus curly) so he is a little easier to maintain. They keep him tidy looking with periodic professional grooming....especially his "beard" as he can be a sloppy drinker. He has good house manners and is crate trained, so he is ready to step into a loving home. If you always wanted a Doodle without the sometimes difficult & time consuming puppy period, this is the guy for you, so please apply today!
