Story
Winnie and Edith are Labby sisters from a litter of nine "oops" puppies. Mom is a doodle who had a spay appointment, but the neighbor's Lab mix boy came a'callin' one evening and well, you know the story. The puppies were very loved and well fed, but are shy at first but do warm up to attention. They are walking great on a leash and are learning simple commands. Sadly, the owners, a retired couple in their 70s, waited till the puppies were 14 weeks old to decide that they couldn't keep them all. The girls have been around children, dogs and cats and would acclimate well to a family with a nice fenced yard. They both sleep in a crate at night. Winnie is about 8 months old and 40 pounds. Please help Winnie find the loving home she deserves. We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. Applicants must live within a 2 hour radius from Sparta/Andover (07871/07821). Please understand that we are an animal shelter and thus unable to say whether the dogs are housebroken as they are not in homes. Story
Fergus was left in a city pound by his owner because "he has too much energy for me". Well truth be told, Fergus is just a puppy at 11 months old and all puppies are very playful and energetic. Fergus is actually a blend on play, chill and is very social. He gets along with people and other dogs. We do not know what he thinks about cats. He does well in car rides and mostly just lays down. This handsome boy has a very Labby head and curly hair on his back. Fergus is about 50 pounds. Please help Fergus find the loving home he deserves. Update: Fergus tested positive for Ehrlicchia, another common tick borne disease similar to Lyme's. He is currently on a short course of Doxycycline, an antibiotic. Fergus is feeling great and is available to be adopted. Any remaining pills will be sent home with his family for completion. Don't miss out on this awesome boy! We do NOT ship our animals. Story
Bubba is the absolute sweetest, happiest boy. He loves hiking and play time, loves kids, and snuggles up so calmly 75% of the day. He's 4.5 years old and around 72lbs. He's 50% standard poodle and 50% labradoodle. He would do so well with an active family that takes him for hikes, and he'd be great with kids to run around with him and give him tons of attention. He loves to play in rivers but isn't fully into swimming (yet). He's lived with cats but does chase them. He's hit or miss with other dogs and wants all your attention. He knows basic commands and has decent (not perfect) recall. He may bark at new people at first but he will fall in love with you and be the best boy.

Story
Meet Iggy, who is currently at our rescue in Oklahoma and looking for a loving family in a state where animals are treated well. He must be prepaid and picked up at one of the listed transport cities. Iggy and 3 other pups came into our rescue when a "breeder" called and wanted to surrender the pups and would harm them if we didn't take them. They claimed all 4 were Labradoodles, but they all look drastically different. We have received his DNA results and he is 65% Lab/Poodle, 29% Great Pyrenees, and the rest is Golden Retriever, Australian Cattle Dog, German Shepherd, and Beagle. Male, approx. 6 months old (as of October 31) Currently 35 pounds (October 31) Loves all attention with people or other dogs Loves water Genetic testing says he has a gene for reduced shedding. Story
Meet Pluto — the Perfect Gentleman with a Heart of Gold! This 7-year-old, 33-lb Labradoodle is as sweet, steady, and charming as they come. Pluto LOVES his walks (seriously, he will never say no), enjoys hanging out in the backyard, and is just as happy curling up beside you for a cozy snuggle session. He’s the ideal mix of low-key and playful — a gentle guy who still enjoys toys, treats, and the occasional zoomie. Pluto is great with dogs and has been warming up beautifully to his younger, more energetic foster sister. He prefers polite canine friends or calm companions, but he’s coexisted wonderfully so far. He’s also good with kids and adults alike! Although, he'd proably do best with older children who are respectful of his space. He’s house trained, walks well on a leash, and is wonderfully quiet indoors unless he’s politely requesting a walk. He loves being petted, enjoys squeaky toys, is treat-motivated, and doesn’t shed. He isn’t crate trained, but he sleeps through the night like a pro on his dog bed. Pluto travels well, adores affection, and is simply an easy, lovely boy. Whether as an only dog or paired with a calm buddy, he’s going to make a family very, very lucky. If you’re looking for a mature, affectionate, well-mannered companion… Pluto is your guy. Story
Meet Gelato 🍦 We adopted Gelato when he was just 8 weeks old from a local rescue, and he turned 3 in August 2025. He is a handsome, strong, and playful dog who loves to run, play, and make friends with other dogs. He’s protective and can be a little nervous at first, but once he warms up, he’s incredibly sweet. He thrives in an environment where he gets a lot of attention, and feels part of the family. His ideal new family would continue to train and socialize him, and give him plenty of exercise. He would do especially well with someone that already has a dog, or who enjoys being outdoors and can give him consistent exercise on hikes or walks. Gelato is a wonderful dog with so much love to give ❤️ P.S. Adoption fee is not to make money, but to ensure the adopter is serious. This fee will be donated to the animal shelter 🐶
