Sammy is a loving, affectionate, and cuddly 4-year-old Labradoodle (65 lbs) who bonds closely with her people and loves long walks and time outdoors. She is house trained, listens well, up to date on vaccines, and gets along great with other animals. Sammy has a lot of energy and would thrive with an active owner and a home with more space or ideally a yard. Sammy also has OCD and can become intensely focused on shadows and reflections, which requires patience and an owner who understands and can manage this behavior. She is intersex (hermaphrodite) and we are currently working with the Animal Medical Center in NYC regarding possible spay options. We live in a small Midtown apartment with two young children and sadly cannot give her the space she deserves. Midtown Manhattan — no rehoming fee. Personality & Characteristics:Br'er is a truly wonderful, sweet dog. He is great with other dogs and cats, and just loves getting pets and cuddles. He has good leash manners (we are working on heeling to one side and making progress!) Br'er is a fantastic walking and running buddy and makes my daily lap around Central Park so much more fun. He is house trained and goes to the bathroom outside with no issue, except the fact that he prefers to do his business on grass as opposed to the concrete. He can be left alone during the work day and sleeps through the night. Not a huge fan of his crate but will get in if coaxed with treats. Br'er is genuinely such a loving and friendly dog and would make any family so happy. ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. Based on her condition and background, it is highly likely that she was used as a breeding dog and may have given birth multiple times. At the time of rescue, Rian did not appear to be in good health. However, with consistent care and attention from the rescue team, her overall condition has significantly improved, and she is now stable and well cared for. Her age is an estimate, as dogs from illegal breeding facilities rarely come with accurate records. The environment she lived in was extremely poor, and she has significant dental damage. This is a common characteristic seen in dogs rescued from puppy mills, often caused by repetitive stress behaviors such as biting and chewing metal cage bars over long periods of confinement. **Personality & Temperament Rian is a very gentle, calm, and affectionate dog who prefers staying close to her caregiver. **Name:** Nemo **Gender:** Male (neutered) **Breed:** Mixed breed **Weight:** 20 kg (44 lbs) **Current Location:** Shelter / Korea Nemo’s story began in a place no puppy should have to grow up. He was found as a very young puppy, tied up at a duck farm in a rural area on the outskirts of the city. Alongside him was his sister, Semo. Both puppies were kept on chains, despite being only around six months old at the time. They were believed to have been raised to guard the farm. The conditions were extremely poor. Food and water were not consistently provided, and the environment was not suitable for young dogs. Thankfully, a local resident noticed their situation and began bringing them food and water every day. After repeatedly trying to persuade the farm owner without success, the resident eventually offered to buy the dogs to secure their safety. The owner agreed, and Nemo and his sister were finally released and brought into a private shelter. At the shelter, both dogs received stable care and began to recover—physically and emotionally. Semo was adopted last year (2025) and now lives happily with her forever family in San Francisco. Nemo has remained in our care, and throughout this time, he has shown nothing but a kind and loving nature. He is exceptionally friendly with both people and other dogs. In fact, he is so gentle and welcoming that he could easily be described as a “welcome dog”—the kind of dog who makes everyone feel at ease. Nemo loves toys, is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and walks calmly on a leash. He is generally confident, though he may occasionally startle when large vehicles pass by or when motorcycles move quickly nearby. Nemo is in excellent health and has all the qualities of a wonderful companion. He is affectionate, well-mannered, and deeply social—a truly ideal family dog.
