Story
Frisco says: “Give me a few minutes, and I’ll give you my whole heart.” This boy is a huge lover, very affectionate, and wants to be your best friend. Frisco is a sensitive dog and will require a slow intro with every person he meets. It won’t take long before he is your new best friend and asking for butt scritches. This tender boy would do best with a dog owner who is committed to training and advocating for him when he encounters new situations. 2-year-old Frisco is about 55 lbs. and is looking for a home that will appreciate his handler-driven nature. He desires to be with you and is always looking to be a part of what you are doing. This fun pup walks great on the leash with a confident owner and would love to go on hikes or on road-trip adventures. And yes, Frisco is kennel trained and house broken. Frisco is friendly with other animals but does not want to go to dog parks. However, he LOVES to play and would do well with a confident playful dog. Fill out an application if you’d like to meet this lovable pooch. (While our rescue typically does not adopt out beyond Phoenix, in order to best meet Frisco’s adventure needs, we will make an exception and accept applications from outside the Phoenix metro area.) **$150 adoption fee includes: vaccinations, dewormed, neuter, and microchip. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MEETING FRISCO PLEASE FIRST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://pepperspals.org/adoption-application/

Story
Boyka lived with his owner since he was a wee pup. One day his owner was deployed to help defend our country and Boyka was given to a family member to care for. The family then determined that he was not allowed to have Boyka where he lived and surrendered him to the county shelter. Boyka found himself with only days to live. Our veteran co-director could not stand the thought of a military person's dog being euthanized because she was deployed to serve our country. So we saved Boyka and are now looking for a perfect forever home. Boyka is a smart boy who likes all people he meets. Some training in some specific areas will make him even smarter! If you are a strong teacher and leader, you will be a good match to Boyka. He likes to play with other dogs but doesn't always realize that he is bigger than his playmate, so supervision is advised. No cats or small dogs. Boyka is 7 years young, housebroken, crate trained, fully vaccinated and neutered. Our adoption process includes an interview, application, home visit and meet & greet. Please contact us by texting 602-501-1844 and letting us know you are interested in Boyka.

Story
COURTESY POST   My name is Angel. I am a 10 years young and healthy girl who needs a furever home. My owner and I were homeless for 10 years. He died and I got abandoned on the streets months ago. I was microchipped by my caring friend Bob 8 years ago just in case I ever got lost. He found me!!!  Bob would love to be my new person but is unable to care for me. I am an energetic girl who loves to play with tennis balls and toys and given the chance will splash around in a shallow pool. I walk well on a leash and am potty trained. I would love a comfy dog bed or chair that I can call my own.   I show love by giving kisses and hugs but sometimes I get so excited I may nip when giving kisses. I sometimes get afraid around a new person and might nip at them if they hover over me or their face gets too close to mine. I just need a bit of time to wram up to people and you will love me. I really am a nice girl. I just need someone to work with me on my manners. I also have some separation anxiety and do not like crates.  I was spayed 8 years ago and got all my vaccinations recently. Bob has spent over $1000 on me already with this and boarding. He is asking just $150 for a rehoming fee to make sure I go to a new safe home or foster home. Bob will ask to see where I would be living to make sure I am safe. I appear to get along with other dogs, cats I have not encountered. I need a home environment and people interaction so that I can adapt to living in a home instead of on the streets. Please help me find a home.  If you can be Angel’s Angel and provide this deserving girl a furever home please fill out an application* at: https://www.helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application/ . Or you can call/text email Bob at 602-578-9949. His email is RCvanriper@gmail.com . *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up. April 29, 2024, 11:19 pm

If you are looking for a big dog that hates to leave the house....ie no walks needed. Who is gentle, quiet and housetrained....and could easily be an only dog look no further....Chuck is your guy! He loves to be at home with his people and is fine being an only dog! He loves to walk around a yard and rest in the sun! He is fine at home and not destructive! He just would love a quiet household where he can watch TV, lay by his people and have a few snacks! Low energy is his favorite mode. He will jump around to great you in the am and when you come home but otherwise he is a quiet and sweet guy.  Chuck would prefer to never go for a walk! His home is his castle and as a guy who was without a home for 5 long years his goal is to never leave his home:) He loves soft dog beds, cheese, quiet people and being at home!  Chuck does need a home with a securely fenced yard.  If you have questions about Chuck his foster would be happy to talk with you:) Mary 602 568 5219 please feel free to call after 5 or on the weekends or texting is great too! Story
Hi, my name is Allie and I am looking for a forever home where I can be a true family member. I believe I am Rhodesian Ridgeback and Lab mix. I am very kind and loving to my foster family and I’m learning my manners. I am comfortable in my kennel and I love the two other dogs in the house. I can sit for treats and I only bark if I hear new sounds or new voices. I love tummy rubs, and to run and play. I am still a puppy and still get goofy at play time. My mom calls me cougar because she says when I walk away, I look like a mountain lion because of my long tail. I know I could be your most loving companion and the best addition to your family. My dream home would be with an active family who has time to train me to be the best family dog. I would not do well being created all day. My must have in my forever home is a securely fenced yard and a family who wants to make me a part of the fam! I am not a good fit for an apartment or condo.   Allie is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Her adoption fee of $350 helps offset the rescue's medical expenses. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think he could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application*:     Adoption Application - Help A Dog Smile .    *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Story
Hi my name is Jack! I love people, petting, and all the attention I can get. Car rides, hiking, going for walks, and guarding the yard are some of the things I like to do. I really like stuffed animals, but don’t usually chew them up, just carry them around. I get along with most dogs, but if challenged I will defend myself. I was starved before my foster family took me in, so I guard my food and bones from other dogs. I’m happy to share with my humans though. I love people so much! Currently I live with several dogs from 4-80 pounds and play nicely with all of them. My foster mom would be happy to bring me over to meet your dogs and see if we could be friends. When can we go for a ride?!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hello my name is Oscar!  I had a rough start to life. We know that momma was a brindle pit mix and I look nothing like her! In fact I look nothing like any of my siblings. Dad was just a one night stand. We were told that dad was a golden retriever that runs the streets in the neighborhood we got them from.  Oscar is a sweet boy who enjoys other dogs (big and small) and has been around cats. He enjoys playing with toys and hanging out on his dog bed.  If your interested in Oscar please fill out an application at bbshonor.rescuegroups.org Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 11, 2024, 12:03 am
