Story
Hi my name is Jack! I love people, petting, and all the attention I can get. Car rides, hiking, going for walks, and guarding the yard are some of the things I like to do. I really like stuffed animals, but don’t usually chew them up, just carry them around. I get along with most dogs, but if challenged I will defend myself. I was starved before my foster family took me in, so I guard my food and bones from other dogs. I’m happy to share with my humans though. I love people so much! Currently I live with several dogs from 4-80 pounds and play nicely with all of them. My foster mom would be happy to bring me over to meet your dogs and see if we could be friends. When can we go for a ride?!

Story
Boyka lived with his owner since he was a wee pup. One day his owner was deployed to help defend our country and Boyka was given to a family member to care for. The family then determined that he was not allowed to have Boyka where he lived and surrendered him to the county shelter. Boyka found himself with only days to live. Our veteran co-director could not stand the thought of a military person's dog being euthanized because she was deployed to serve our country. So we saved Boyka and are now looking for a perfect forever home. Boyka is a smart boy who likes all people he meets. Some training in some specific areas will make him even smarter! If you are a strong teacher and leader, you will be a good match to Boyka. He likes to play with other dogs but doesn't always realize that he is bigger than his playmate, so supervision is advised. No cats or small dogs. Boyka is 7 years young, housebroken, crate trained, fully vaccinated and neutered. Our adoption process includes an interview, application, home visit and meet & greet. Please contact us by texting 602-501-1844 and letting us know you are interested in Boyka.

Story
COURTESY POST   My name is Angel. I am a 10 years young and healthy girl who needs a furever home. My owner and I were homeless for 10 years. He died and I got abandoned on the streets months ago. I was microchipped by my caring friend Bob 8 years ago just in case I ever got lost. He found me!!!  Bob would love to be my new person but is unable to care for me. I am an energetic girl who loves to play with tennis balls and toys and given the chance will splash around in a shallow pool. I walk well on a leash and am potty trained. I would love a comfy dog bed or chair that I can call my own.   I show love by giving kisses and hugs but sometimes I get so excited I may nip when giving kisses. I sometimes get afraid around a new person and might nip at them if they hover over me or their face gets too close to mine. I just need a bit of time to wram up to people and you will love me. I really am a nice girl. I just need someone to work with me on my manners. I also have some separation anxiety and do not like crates.  I was spayed 8 years ago and got all my vaccinations recently. Bob has spent over $1000 on me already with this and boarding. He is asking just $150 for a rehoming fee to make sure I go to a new safe home or foster home. Bob will ask to see where I would be living to make sure I am safe. I appear to get along with other dogs, cats I have not encountered. I need a home environment and people interaction so that I can adapt to living in a home instead of on the streets. Please help me find a home.  If you can be Angel’s Angel and provide this deserving girl a furever home please fill out an application* at: https://www.helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application/ . Or you can call/text email Bob at 602-578-9949. His email is RCvanriper@gmail.com . *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up. July 25, 2024, 6:32 pm

Story
Technically, my name is Sarah, but my foster parents call me Sweet Puppy, Snugglebug, and all types of nice things. I am a happy and affectionate 6-month-old puppy. My breed is unknown, but I’ve heard lots of guesses, including lab, pointer, cattle dog, border collie, and more! What do I look like to you? I only weigh 25 lbs now but I might grow up to be a big girl.   I love to play with toys and dogs of all sizes in my foster home. Fetch is my favorite so I would love a fenced in yard to run around and play in. I like to play pretty hard but after playtime, all I want to do is cuddle up in a lap (it’s never too hot to cuddle). I give really good hugs. I know “sit” and I'm working on other commands. I’m also house-trained and use a doggy door. My foster parents tell me I’m one of the smartest puppies they’ve ever fostered.  My adopters must have a secure, fenced-in yard and be 100% committed to training and loving me for the rest of my years. My adoption fee of $350 helps offset the cost of medical expenses, include spay surgery, vaccines, and microchip. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think I could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application: helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application    *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Story
Valentina is a sweet puppy. The only reason that we have to give her up is because a new baby Is coming home, and the owners living arrangements have changed. Therefore, they can not keep her any longer. This puppy is maybe a little hyper and a home with a yard and even other dogs for her to play with would probably be best. Someone who could give her plenty of attention and take her for walks. This dog is extremely sweet and just wants to love on everyone.

Story
Honey is a Female Yellow Labrador Retriever mix, she is around 9 yrs old with an estimated birthday of April 5, 2015. she weighs approx 65lbs, is visually impaired in both eyes, and has all updated shot records, microchips records, home again account and all adoption records from the Arizona Humane Society. Honey is a sweet and easy-going girl, she can navigate her area, go in and out the doggie door, is around children daily, able to eat/drink unattended, goes on leash walks, car rides, loves sunbathing and relaxing in bed. She walks around the house unattended, knows commands such as sit, treats, no and go, and gets along with our senior German shepherd husky mix (dog parks not recommended). We will be moving and are unable to take her with us, we also understand that adopting a pet isn't cheap so we decided not to set a sell price but are here to simply find her a loving home that can accept her disability but also embrace that she doesn't let that slow her down.

Story
Roxy was adopted by my Finaces mother about five years ago; Roxy is nine now. She is a sweetheart who currently lives with two other dogs, two cats, and two children who are eight and 12. I think it would be best if she went to a less chaotic environment, and should be monitored around other animals/kids until you (whoever adopts her) feels comfortable. She has never bitten or been aggressive towards any of our dogs, cats, or the kids, but any new environment can take some getting used to. I can get more information if you would like regarding her past because I am not sure where she came from prior to this family. All I know is she needs a loving home and I am doing this because I do not want to see her surrendered to a resuce, where she will be with tons of strangers and different animals that might spike her anxiety. I want her to live out the rest of her years with people who are going to love her the way she deserves.

Story
Our precious Athena has been our cuddly girl for 6 years. We got her from Craigslist when she was 1.5 y/o. She loves to play keep-away, chew bones, and play with the water hose. She’s also the biggest cuddle bug and will happily lounge around all day with you. We’re looking to rehome her, not for our lack of love (we are devastated to do this), but she needs someone who can give her the proper attention she deserves. We’re two busy people with our first child on the way, and don’t know how she will be with the baby, but is fine with older kids. She has had some behavioral issues over the years that we have managed, but not necessarily fixed fully. She absolutely loves people, but can be overbearing about it when excited. She doesnt like other dogs, though can occasionally do well with a smaller one. And she has separation anxiety. She’s healthy, just needs someone to better train her. She is our first baby, but with our lifestyle change, she needs more than we can give her.

Story
Harley Quinn aka Harley... She is an incredibly loving and loyal, pure bread chocolate lab, who will be 6 y/o August 2024. She is house trained, loves to swim and run, she loves kids and cant get enough cuddling. My sons allergies and asthma have recently started getting much worse due to her dander; even with assistance from an allergist specialist and many forms of medication we are forced to rehome her. Harley loves car rides, walks, cuddling, and doesnt have any behavioral issues. We are heartbroken to have to rehome her, but it is whats best for her. She can no longer cuddle with my son or lay on the couch, I can see it in her eyes that she is sad, as are we. She would spend her day on the couch with you just cuddling if she could! I would be happy to rehome her to a family or a couple who can give her the love, effection, and attention she deserves and needs. Not asking for an adoption fee unless travel is required.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.LEONARDO is available! Leonardo is a 2-and-1/2-year-old neutered male Golden Doodle, loving and with a heart of gold. His friendly demeanor and love for playtime make him an ideal companion for anyone seeking a loyal furry friend. Here are some highlights about Leonardo: Playful and Snuggly: Leonardo’s zest for life is contagious! He enjoys playing, chasing after tennis balls, and curling up on the couch for cuddle sessions. Basic Commands: Leonardo is a smart cookie! He already knows essential commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “down.” With a little extra training, he’ll be a well-mannered superstar. Best as an Only Dog: While Leonardo has experience living with another dog, he thrives when he’s the center of attention. His enthusiasm sometimes leads to playful jumps and mouthing, so a home where he’s the sole canine would be ideal. Kid-Friendly: Leonardo has interacted with kids aged 9 to 15 and aced the test! He’s been gentle and allowed them to pet him all over without any issues. Anxiety Management: Leonardo takes a small daily dose of fluoxetine to manage his anxiety. Loud noises, like fireworks, still spook him, but he finds comfort in being close to his human companions during those moments. Are you ready to welcome Leonardo into your heart and home? All potential fosters and adopters must complete an application, pay the $25.00 application fee and have a home visit before being considered for any dog.  If you reside in Arizona and are interested in adopting a dog like this from Arizona Golden Rescue, we recommend that you visit our website and complete the Online Adoption Application to begin the process.    http://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption  WE DO NOT ADOPT OUTSIDE OF THE STATE OF ARIZONA. Rescued dogs are given a complete veterinary exam and their vaccines are updated; they are also micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and tested for valley fever and heartworm.
