Story
Odin I'm a super active fun-loving guy who loves to play, run around, and go on adventures! I like to go for daily walks, hikes, bike rides, or runs! I really enjoy playing in water and hope my new family has a pool or takes trips to the lake! Did I mention I love car rides and paddleboarding! I can be a little nervous around new people and dogs, so an adult only, dog savvy family would be my ideal home. I'm super smart and am treat motivated, so training will be fun! All it takes is a little patience and love to get me to warm up and once I do, I know that I am worth it! If you think we could be a great match, please fill out an adoption application to meet me! •Saving Paws recommends I live with adults only. •Saving Paws says I am a must meet with other dogs. •Saving Paws thinks I am a daily workout, meaning I need lots of exercise. •Saving Paws says I can NOT live with cats. If you can give Odin an indoor forever home, please fill out our online application on our website at http://www.savingpawsrescueaz.com/adoption-form/ We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. We are an all-volunteer organization. It may take a couple of days to process an application and complete reference checks. Thank you for your interest in saving the life of a dog.

Story
COURTESY POST   My name is Angel. I am a 10 years young and healthy girl who needs a furever home. My owner and I were homeless for 10 years. He died and I got abandoned on the streets months ago. I was microchipped by my caring friend Bob 8 years ago just in case I ever got lost. He found me!!!  Bob would love to be my new person but is unable to care for me. I am an energetic girl who loves to play with tennis balls and toys and given the chance will splash around in a shallow pool. I walk well on a leash and am potty trained. I would love a comfy dog bed or chair that I can call my own.   I show love by giving kisses and hugs but sometimes I get so excited I may nip when giving kisses. I sometimes get afraid around a new person and might nip at them if they hover over me or their face gets too close to mine. I just need a bit of time to wram up to people and you will love me. I really am a nice girl. I just need someone to work with me on my manners. I also have some separation anxiety and do not like crates.  I was spayed 8 years ago and got all my vaccinations recently. Bob has spent over $1000 on me already with this and boarding. He is asking just $150 for a rehoming fee to make sure I go to a new safe home or foster home. Bob will ask to see where I would be living to make sure I am safe. I appear to get along with other dogs, cats I have not encountered. I need a home environment and people interaction so that I can adapt to living in a home instead of on the streets. Please help me find a home.  If you can be Angel’s Angel and provide this deserving girl a furever home please fill out an application* at: https://www.helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application/ . Or you can call/text email Bob at 602-578-9949. His email is RCvanriper@gmail.com . *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up. April 13, 2024, 10:25 pm

Story
If you are looking for a big dog that hates to leave the house....ie no walks needed. Who is gentle, quiet and housetrained....and could easily be an only dog look no further....Chuck is your guy! He loves to be at home with his people and is fine being an only dog! He loves to walk around a yard and rest in the sun! He is fine at home and not destructive! He just would love a quiet household where he can watch TV, lay by his people and have a few snacks! Low energy is his favorite mode. He will jump around to great you in the am and when you come home but otherwise he is a quiet and sweet guy.  Chuck would prefer to never go for a walk! His home is his castle and as a guy who was without a home for 5 long years his goal is to never leave his home:) He loves soft dog beds, cheese, quiet people and being at home!  Chuck does need a home with a securely fenced yard.  If you have questions about Chuck his foster would be happy to talk with you:) Mary 602 568 5219 please feel free to call after 5 or on the weekends or texting is great too! Chuck has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. His adoption fee of $350 helps offset the cost of medical expenses. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think Chuck could be the right fit for you, please complete an  application found on our website:     Application *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool   used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Story
Hi, my name is Allie and I am looking for a forever home where I can be a true family member. I believe I am Rhodesian Ridgeback and Lab mix. I am very kind and loving to my foster family and I’m learning my manners. I am comfortable in my kennel and I love the two other dogs in the house. I can sit for treats and I only bark if I hear new sounds or new voices. I love tummy rubs, and to run and play. I am still a puppy and still get goofy at play time. My mom calls me cougar because she says when I walk away, I look like a mountain lion because of my long tail. I know I could be your most loving companion and the best addition to your family. My dream home would be with an active family who has time to train me to be the best family dog. I would not do well being created all day. My must have in my forever home is a securely fenced yard and a family who wants to make me a part of the fam! I am not a good fit for an apartment or condo.   Allie is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Her adoption fee of $350 helps offset the rescue's medical expenses. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think he could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application*:     Adoption Application - Help A Dog Smile .    *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Story
Hi my name is Jack! I love people, petting, and all the attention I can get. Car rides, hiking, going for walks, and guarding the yard are some of the things I like to do. I really like stuffed animals, but don’t usually chew them up, just carry them around. I get along with most dogs, but if challenged I will defend myself. I was starved before my foster family took me in, so I guard my food and bones from other dogs. I’m happy to share with my humans though. I love people so much! Currently I live with several dogs from 4-80 pounds and play nicely with all of them. My foster mom would be happy to bring me over to meet your dogs and see if we could be friends. When can we go for a ride?!

Story
Frisco says: “Give me a few minutes, and I’ll give you my whole heart.” This boy is a huge lover, very affectionate, and wants to be your best friend. Frisco is a sensitive dog and will require a slow intro with every person he meets. It won’t take long before he is your new best friend and asking for butt scritches. This tender boy would do best with a dog owner who is committed to training and advocating for him when he encounters new situations. 2-year-old Frisco is about 55 lbs. and is looking for a home that will appreciate his handler-driven nature. He desires to be with you and is always looking to be a part of what you are doing. This fun pup walks great on the leash with a confident owner and would love to go on hikes or on road-trip adventures. And yes, Frisco is kennel trained and house broken. Frisco is friendly with other animals but does not want to go to dog parks. However, he LOVES to play and would do well with a confident playful dog. Fill out an application if you’d like to meet this lovable pooch. (While our rescue typically does not adopt out beyond Phoenix, in order to best meet Frisco’s adventure needs, we will make an exception and accept applications from outside the Phoenix metro area.) **$150 adoption fee includes: vaccinations, dewormed, neuter, and microchip. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MEETING FRISCO PLEASE FIRST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://pepperspals.org/adoption-application/

Story
Sophie is a very sweet and active girl who loves to play. She is good with other dogs and has a submissive demeanor. Sophie loves children but she can get excited and jump when she plays. She is just a puppy, so she just needs to learn some manners. She is a smart girl and knows how to use a dog door. She is not completely potty trained, but she is getting better every day. Sophie has not had a lot of interaction with cats but has run screaming from them on the few occasions she has. She would likely do well with cats after an appropriate introduction and adjustment period. Sophie has a lot of puppy energy and would do best in an active home with a fenced yard for her to run in. She would be a great hiking partner! Sophie is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on vaccines. She is ready for her forever family! Her estimated birth date is 12/15/23 and her adoption fee is $300.April 14, 2024, 5:06 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. LEONARDO is available! Leonardo is a 2-and-1/2-year-old neutered male Golden Doodle.  He is a big boy at 86 lbs and needs to shed some more weight with the green bean diet. Leonardo is friendly, loves to play and needs lots of exercise.  He gets hyper excited and needs training to curb his enthusiasm and jumping. He has been fostered with other dogs, but he may do best in a home with no other dogs, as he can be very "mouthy" and intimidating. While he has never lived with children he has been around kids ages 9 to 15.  He knows sit, stay, down, come but sometimes chooses not to listen to come.  He will jump on people so before opening the door if you tell him "go get a toy" he will run to find a toy rather than jump. He needs more training on the leash as he pulls.  Leonardo is afraid of fireworks and loud noises and likes to be next to someone if that happens. He would benefit from additional basic training with proper benevolent leadership, structure, and socialization. All potential fosters and adopters must complete an application, pay the $25.00 application fee and have a home visit before being considered for any dog.  If you reside in Arizona and are interested in adopting a dog like this from Arizona Golden Rescue, we recommend that you visit our website and complete the Online Adoption Application to begin the process.    http://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption  WE DO NOT ADOPT OUTSIDE OF THE STATE OF ARIZONA. Once we receive your application and application fee, a home visit will be scheduled. Once your home visit is approved, you will be placed on our waiting list. (Please be aware that your application cannot be processed until the application fee is paid.) Our sole purpose is to find the perfect home for the dog as our dogs always come first.        Because we have new rescues coming in all the time, if the Golden that is the right dog for you is not available at this time it will probably come into Rescue and you would be notified of the availability.     Waiting times vary depending upon how specific your preferences are. The more you restrict the factors involved in choosing a dog – age, sex, coat color, etc. – the longer the wait may be before we find the perfect dog for you.  Please note: it is the policy of AGR not to place a dog less than 3 years of age with a family that has children less than 3 years of age.  If you have specific questions about our adoption process, please go to this link at our website.   https://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/display?PageID=20779  Arizona Golden Rescue is organized as an all-volunteer, non-profit, 501 (c) (3) corporation. We are a charitable organization whose mission is to rescue displaced Golden Retrievers and mostly Golden mixes that have been abused, abandoned, neglected or unwanted and find new, loving, permanent homes for them. Rescued dogs are given a complete veterinary exam and their vaccines are updated; they are also micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and tested for valley fever and heartworm. AGR provides emotional and medical rehabilitation and will pay for medications and for necessary surgeries. Through education at public appearances, AGR seeks to educate the public about the Golden Retriever breed and about responsible dog ownership, in order to help reduce the unwanted dog population.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 13, 2024, 10:24 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. BODHI is available! Bodhi is a neutered Golden Doodle approximately 3-and-1/2-years old.  He is tall, weighs 67#, energetic strong, friendly and likes to go on daily walks or go hiking. He needs training with a leash though. Bodhi had surgery in late 2023 for a mast cell tumor, is doing well, and has two oncology wellness follow-ups needed, the first one being 3/22/24. He has been around small children, but because of his size and strength older children would be recommended.  He has been around other dogs, but not cats. All potential fosters and adopters must complete an application, pay the $25.00 application fee and have a home visit before being considered for any dog.  If you reside in Arizona and are interested in adopting a dog like Bodhi from Arizona Golden Rescue, we recommend that you visit our website and complete the Online Adoption Application to begin the process.    http://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption  WE DO NOT ADOPT OUTSIDE OF THE STATE OF ARIZONA. We are not sure what he is mixed with, but he is really cute and small.  Loves to explore and run around, likes to play fetch and he is lovable.  He is a bit shy with new people at first then warms up.  He does not live with children but has been around children ages 7 and up.  He lives with another dog but has never been around cats.  He is a bit scared of loud noises and will hide.
