Story
The last time we saw Coach, he weighed a whopping seven pounds! Coach used to be known as Alfie, and he came to Home Fur Good as a little puppy in the summer of 2020. As a squishie, chubby puppy, we all thought he was a Labrador Retriever mix. Now that he is turning three years old in June, he seems a little light on the Lab portion of his DNA. He is a very tall boy and now weighs 71 pounds. When he was a puppy, Home Fur Good had a nursing mom named Nova, who adopted Coach right into her litter without a second thought. He was adopted by a human mom and recently she decided she could not provide the best home for him. She felt Coach had developed some anxiety and had become protective. Coach is in shock to find himself in a busy shelter environment. He has been a little shy, but he is very receptive to kind, soft words, and soaks up affection if offered. HFG will watch him as he settles in and work to find him a home that is a perfect fit. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm by appointment.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Goose and Maverick were found eating out of a trash can in a remote area of northern AZ. These boys were shy and friendly, clearly not used to much human interaction but very much craving it. From the moment we welcomed them into the Paw Placement family, they were nothing but sweet and loving. They were also unfamiliar with the world and many things our own pet dogs find normal - such as a leash, tile floors, cozy blankets, nutritious food. But these boys quickly learned what the good life looks like, and they are blossoming in their foster homes. Goose is loving and affectionate, smart and eager to please, playful and energetic. He adores his doggy foster siblings, and we'd be hard pressed to find a home without another dog that we'd be willing to place him in. For the first 5 months of his life, Goose knew nothing but life with his brother Maverick and, while it would be unhealthy to keep the brothers together (google Sibling Syndrome if you're not sure why), it would be best to place both boys in a home with another dog as they rely so heavily on other dogs for comfort and security. Goose is house and crate trained in his foster home. Though their breed is a mystery, they look like they might have some retriever, some chow chow, along with a mix of likely many other breeds. Their coats are similar to retriever coats, smoother and shorter than you'd expect from a chow. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application. We will only be able to email those applicants that are approved to schedule a meet and greet. Thank you in advance for your understanding if you don't hear back from us regarding your application.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 1, 2024, 10:26 pm
