Story
Negrita is a calm girl; she wants to be with her people, plays with her foster doggie friends, leans right into affection and love. Takes food with a gentle mouth and does not complain about petting and brushing; she likes it. Negrita is shy when meeting new people, which is to be expected with most rescued dogs until they have a forever home with someone who can take them out daily to show them the world is safe because you are the one to care for her forever. She and her sister look identical; in fact, they were even photographed in the same harness; oops. Negrita is the shyer of the two and little bit more laid back. She does well with children and other dogs; walks pretty good on the leash and is definitely trainable because she wants to please you. We say she may be Aussie also only because one of our volunteers had two dogs that were Black Lab and Aussie verified through a DNA test, and those dogs looked identical to Negrita and Smiley, who will be posted separately.

Story
Earl Grey is a sweet and lovable senior pup who’s all about companionship. He’ll follow you from room to room, always wanting to be close, and he thrives on affection and reassurance. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow who’s happy to lounge by your side, Earl is your guy! He’s extremely food-motivated and knows how to sit politely for treats. He’s also fully house-trained, occasionally uses a crate, and walks easily on a leash. Earl enjoys a short daily stroll—he starts off strong and enthusiastic but tires out quickly, so he’s not the type to demand long hikes. A cozy couch and a warm lap are much more his speed! Earl is doing well adjusting to life with his current foster dog sibling, though he’s still learning how to respect personal space. He sometimes gets a little jealous when attention is shared, but with plenty of love and reassurance, he settles right in. He’s a very obedient boy and is eager to please! Being hard of hearing, Earl relies on visual cues to understand what’s being asked of him, but he’s very intuitive and quick to learn. He’s also a pro at bath time, which is great since we’re currently working with the vet to manage some allergies affecting his skin. Overall, Earl Grey is a gentle, low-maintenance companion perfect for someone who wants an easygoing, affectionate buddy. If you’re looking for a sweet senior who’s happy with short walks, lots of cuddles, and a comfy spot on the couch, Earl is ready to be your new best friend!
