Story
We adopted Romeo from Dulce Vida pet rescue in January. He is very sweet, energetic, and loving. He is also cautious of strangers, which is why we think he would enjoy a quieter home. With 3 young kids, there are friends coming and going all day long. Romeo takes time to trust and settle in, but once he does, he will love having all the love and attention you can give him. He is crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night. Does not know formal commands, but walks very well on a leash. He needs a home that has plenty of time to give him all the attention and make him feel loved. We adopted Romeo and his sibling Juliette at the same time. They have very different personalities, but we would love it if they found a home together. Juliette is more timid and shy, while Romeo is the protector. Juliet also takes time to warm up, but is also very sweet once she gets to know and trust her caretaker.

Story
We adopted Juliette and her sibling Romeo from Dulce Vida pet rescue in January. She is very shy and nervous but grows to be sweet and loving once she earns your trust. She is cautious of strangers, which is why we think she would enjoy a quieter home. With 3 young kids, there are friends coming and going all day long. She takes time to trust and settle in, but once she does, she is sweet and affectionate. Juliette is crate trained and sleeps in her crate at night. She does not know formal commands, but walks well on a leash. She needs a family with lots of patience and softness. She does not bark but rather keeps to herself or hides when she feels unsure. Romeo and Juliette have very different personalities, but we would love it if they found a home together. Juliette is timid and shy, while Romeo is the protector. Juliette will make a great pet for someone who has the time to help her feel safe and secure outside of the sanctuary where she grew up.

Labrador Retriever Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)

Story
Our beautiful girl Shawna was rescued from the Corona Animal Shelter after she and a small Chihuahua were found tied up and abandoned in front of the shelter one morning when staff arrived. Her Chihuahua friend was adopted quickly which left Shawna even more confused and alone. Shelter volunteers who are also PAWS members quickly saw how sweet and calm Shawna is and pulled her to safety. She went immediately into a foster home where she has proved those first impressions to be true. Shawna is a lab mix, approximately 5 years old and 65lbs. Once in foster care it was noticed that she had some trouble getting up from a laying down position and a limp when she walked. After a vet visit, it was discovered that she was born with two deformed hips and a front elbow that prevents her from being able to bend it. She is on prescribed medication and a monthly Librela injection to help her thrive in our care. Other than a little stiffness getting up after lying down she is doing great. In fact her front leg deformation causes her to lay sprawled out like a little black seal sunbathing on the beach! Shawna is in no way disabled. She can climb stairs and go on short walks. She is special because of her birth defect and that just makes her even more loving! Shawna adapted quickly to her foster home. She immediately got along with her three doggie foster sisters. She showed them that she loves belly rubs & loves to be around her humans and other dogs. She is an easy keeper and does not ask for much in return. A couch or bed to crash on, food in her belly and some occasional treats that she will sit pretty for. Shawna will sit politely like a good girl with her foster sisters awaiting her treats but she really thinks that they are all hers! She sleeps through the night; in a crate or perfectly in a doggie bed, as long as she is near her humans. She is potty trained and up to date on all vaccines plus a fecal test. If you are looking for a sweet loving, low maintenance girl, then look no further. Shawna deserves a second chance at life in a loving home. Shawna's adoption fee is $195
