Story
Lady was recently returned to us. She is a sweet wonderful 45lb dog. Here is what her previous owners had to say:  Lady is a 5 1/2 year old lab mix that loves long walks, snuggles, and couch time. She is house broken, has excellent leash manners, and knows all basic commands. Lady is socially timid with other dogs, and is being re-homed because of her resource guarding tendencies causing difficulty cohabitating with our small dog named Houdini. She is very healthy, and has allergies that are currently being managed with a monthly cytopoint injection. She eats dry food, and is not food aggressive with humans. Lady is a sweet dog with social anxiety around new dogs. We don’t engage in on leash greetings with strange dogs, as we have taught Lady to ignore dogs that she doesn’t know during our walks. We believe that Lady is a perfect only child, and would thrive in a home where she can be the center of your world and have daily walks and snuggles.June 12, 2024, 2:53 pm

Story
Max Boy is a very caring and empathetic dog who aims to please his owners. He responds well to praise as well as verbal reprimanding. He loves to wrestle with his sister, Daisy Girl, and is quick to join in any time he sees someone dancing. He is very loving and affectionate with his owners and with guests in our home. He is very patient with toddlers who test his patience daily with eye poking, tail pulling and horse riding. Max Boy is very friendly with all people/kids he encounters whether at home, on a walk or at the park. Max Boy does well walking on a leash, until he encounters another dog. Currently Max Boy does not get along well with other dogs and possesses a pack-like mentality with his sister.  Because of this, his exposure to other dogs has been limited and he has not had much practice engaging with other dogs without his sister by his side.  With proper training this can be addressed.  Max Boy is looking for his forever and will be your loyal companion who will protect your family! Interested in adopting this pet? Please contact us at questions@awishforanimals.org for more info.June 13, 2024, 11:34 pm
