This is a courtesy listing, not a SPOT Rescue dog. For more information regarding Max, contact Diana below... Max Male, neutered, 32 lbs Lab/Pit mix 8 months Max was rescued from Calexico Animal Control with his three other brothers. Mom and all four babies were left abandoned, and their people moved out. The neighbors finally called for help and the dogs were taken away. They spent a few weeks at the shelter until a foster home was found. Max loves kids and other dogs. He has not been cat tested because the foster does not have any cats. Max is vaccinated and fixed. Max loves to be around people playing with toys and taking walks. He is trying to understand the leash and is working on liking it. Diana D +1 (716) 912-8733 dianad1983@yahoo.com

Story
How this pet arrived: Trigger was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on November 7, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Trigger, a distinguished senior pup with soft eyes and a greying muzzle that will melt your heart. This gentle boy has perfected the art of taking it easy - he's mellow, sweet-natured and always ready for a leisurely stroll around the block. Trigger loves his walks and will happily accompany you wherever you go, wagging his tail the entire way. He's the kind of dog who thrives on quiet companionship and simple joys - a cozy nap by your side, a few gentle ear scratches and the comfort of being near his people. Trigger doesn't seem to love being left entirely alone, and is looking for a home with another dog that can keep him company. A recent x-ray showed evidence of arthritis in Trigger's spine. He may need medication in the future to help manage this, and we recommend following up with your veterinarian. If you're looking for a loyal, low-key companion who will fill your home with calm and affection, Trigger may be your perfect match! He's ready to enjoy his golden years in a caring home where he can be cherished for the wonderful dog he is. At SDHS:Trigger has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Trigger is now ready for his new home! Primary Color: Tan Weight: 69 Age: 12yrs 1mths 3wks

Story
How this pet arrived: Toby was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on January 5th, 2026 Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Toby! This sweet, affectionate boy is happiest spending time with his people and soaking up all the love and attention he can get. According to his previous owner, Toby is "not a big walker" and prefers a mellow, relaxed lifestyle-making him a great match for a calm home where he can simply enjoy being by your side. He likes to approach new people at his own pace, but once he's comfortable, he makes human friends quickly and enjoys companionship. Toby isn't a fan of water, so bathing will require extra patience and a gentle approach. Toby would do best as the only pet in a dog-free, cat-free home. He's looking for a home with children ages 10 and up, with kids present to meet him. Due to reported conflicts with other dogs, Toby is not a candidate for dog parks or off-leash areas-but he more than makes up for that by wanting to stick close to his favorite humans. With the right home, Toby will reward his adopters with loyalty, affection, and lots of heartfelt companionship. Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 45.8 Age: 3yrs 3mths 4wks

Story
How this pet arrived: Choco was brought in by his previous owner on December 30, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Choco is a sweet, charming boy with a heart as rich as his name. While he can be fearful of new places and faces (especially men or large dogs), he blossoms beautifully once he feels safe! He thrives in a calm, low-traffic home where he can investigate at his own pace - and get lots of treats for encouragement! Once he warms up, his playful personality truly shines. Choco loves to play fetch, run around, and entertain himself by throwing his toys in the air. He is a total cuddle bug who will happily try to climb into your lap for belly rubs. His previous owner said that he's crate trained, potty trained, and loves car rides! This affectionate boy has lived successfully with other small dogs but he will need a home without large dogs or small pets. If you can provide a soft place to land and time for his favorite games, Choco is ready to be your loyal match! At SDHS:Choco has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Choco is now ready for his new home! Shy/Fearful Dog: Choco requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about him. Story
How this pet arrived: Mulligan was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on April 6, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Mulligan! This sweet, sensitive guy might be a little shy at first, but give him a moment (and maybe a tennis ball), and you'll quickly see his goofy side shine through! Mulligan is the king of fetch and will happily chase down a ball with those hilarious zoomies and the cutest little bat ears flopping as he runs. He's made amazing progress in our care and is learning that new people can actually be pretty awesome. Once you're in his circle, Mulligan is pure love - silly, loyal, and always ready to be your shadow. He's dreaming of a calm, patient home where he can truly relax - young kids and chaotic energy aren't really his vibe. He's had mixed feelings about other dogs, and may do best without any other pups in the home. If you do have a resident canine, they should be should mellow and respectful. It's also important to have enough space for the two of them. A meet-and-greet will help everyone know if it's a match! Mulligan is waiting for someone who sees past the initial shyness and falls in love with his quirky charm, big heart, and those ridiculously cute ears. If you're looking for a loyal best friend who's equal parts playful and snuggly, Mulligan might just be your guy! Come meet him today! At SDHS:Mulligan has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is now ready for adoption!Shy/Fearful Dog: Mulligan requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about him.
