Story
Finn is an energetic guy who loves to go for walks. He is also super cuddly. He’s a people dog and loves to be with his humans. Finn was raised in a home with children and another dog, but has been struggling with both, so he is currently recommended to be an only-pet in a child free home. Finn is about 65lbs and is house and crate trained.     March 27, 2024, 9:27 am

Story
Cheers has recently come back to SAAP after being adopted as a puppy 8yrs ago. He loves butt scratches and is perfectly house trained. Cheers is struggling with all the changes, so he will need a patient adopter who will give him ample time to settle into a new life. He is currently taking anxiety medication to help him through these transitions. After a few weeks back with SAAP, Cheers is beginning to slowly build a relationship with his current caretakers. He is still a very stressed pup, but he has relaxed enough to curl up on the couch and nap near people, and he happily accepts affection.  Cheers seems genetically predisposed to lumps and bumps. He did have one cancerous mass that was completely removed upon his return to SAAP. He has quite a few other lumps that the vet has determined to be fatty masses that are not of concern. Many of his siblings have had similar diagnoses. Cheers has not reacted well to other dogs or young children, so at this time we are recommending he be adopted as an only pet to a household without kids. If you would be interested in fostering or adopting Cheers, you can apply for either option on our website! March 27, 2024, 9:27 am

Story
SAAP Nation, I need everyone to take a look at this sweet girl RIGHT NOW and how far she's come! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143   The bottom two pictures are Abbey the first night she got to her foster home - skin and bones, skin infections, ear infections, and parasites.    Fast forward to a month a later - her eyes are bright, she's gained a few pounds, a lot of fur, and she's happy and healthy.   Abbey is a 40 lb, almost 10 years young, lab mix - sweet as sweet can be &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143, housebroken, crate-trained, and still so full of love. She still needs to gain a few pounds, but is ready to find her furver family that will fatten her up (just a bit, not TOO much ). She loves my 4 year old daughter and gets along with all of my dogs - I really can't say enough about her and I really just want to see her go to the best home that she deserves.   Apply to #AdoptAbbey at www.adoptastray.com or reply to your approval email. As she's our little old lady, Abbey is meet and greet only, so get your app in to meet this darling.March 27, 2024, 9:27 am

Story
Skye is the best at making you feel like she is the saddest pup around when you see her in a kennel! Don't believe her! Even the hard start of life she has with her ear being ripped off and left for dead, she has bounced back to be a beautiful playful soul! She loves to play with the other pups, she can also keep herself busy with a Nyla bone. She is crate trained in the sense that she will stay quiet in her crate and play with her toys and she keeps her crate clean (I.e., no potty accidents); however, she does have to be nudged in. We are working on that. Skye is a high energy dog. She would do best if she had another playful doggo in the house, or a an active family to help burn off some of that energy. For this reason, we are also recommending a fenced in yard as she loves to run in the yard. Also, Skye seems a little too interested in the resident cat and so for that reason, I would recommend a home with no cats for this gal. Skye would also benefit from basic obedience training to help control her energy when in the house (to avoid running and jumping all over the furniture). Since she still likes to jump on people, I also recommend older kids for her to keep from getting knocked down. Skye truly is a sweetheart of a gal! She is so friendly and playful and just loves in the moment! Apply today to meet her in person! March 27, 2024, 9:27 am

Batman is a 1.5 years old, 70 lb, Shepherd mix. He was adopted out as a puppy and recently returned as he was not the right fit for that home.   He is housebroken, crate-trained, has a beautiful soft coat, and is good with dogs, cats, and kids.    Batman is also FULL of energy and would do well with at least one doggy friend to keep him entertained. He will need adopters that are willing to work with him on training, as he has more sweetness and exuberance than manners right now. March 27, 2024, 9:27 am

Story
Hi! my name is Minnie- I just moved to Cincinnati, OH. I'm a sweet and smart girl who is quick to learn and eager to please. I love snuggle and playtime. A good, long scratch makes me really happy, and I'll give you love eyes to show you my appreciation. I'd love to be your companion; I've lived with other dogs, adults, and kiddos. At around 42 lbs, I'm athletic and healthy and about 18" tall at my withers. Army crawling across the floor or grass is my favorite way to get a good stretch. I’m crate and house trained, know how to sit, wait, give you my paw, and can walk nicely on my leash. I would LOVE to meet you!

Hope is a female lab/spaniel mix and estiamted around 3 months old. She is sweet and snuggly and often looks for reassurance from people or dogs. She has done great with learning a routine in her foster home. She loves to eat and play. She most enjoys snuggling and will seek it out. Hope enjoys watching the other dogs play while in your lap. She does get nervous when alone and looks for her sister or another dog for support. She is a vocal girl and will cry when she needs to go out if in her kennel.

Story
ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED: KOBE is a friendly, medium-energy handsome older gent looking for a new home. He's a 9 year old 55 pound mixed breed dog, probably a lab mix. He's friendly and affectionate, enjoys sunbathing in the yard and chasing any invading squirrels. He also enjoys taking walks through the neighborhood. He's good with other dogs and kids but not a good fit with kitties. If you'd like to meet Kobe, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee. Story
WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Gable - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Named after a real life 'ladies man' Clark Gable, this here ladies man is ready to let all that be 'Gone With The Wind' and to settle down in a loving home. I want to say goodbye to 'Love On The Run' and just enjoy my belly rubs, ear scratches and some of those nice tasty treats. This family life is going to be all that, like being given the 'Key To The City'!! Here at my new foster home, I’m happily browsing around for any kind of yummy smells but when my foster mom says the word “ride” I jump in the truck lickety split. Going for a ride is one of my favorite things, making me a pawsome co-pilot. I come in at about 45 pounds and at around 5 years young, I still love having a blast going on adventures! My salt and pepper muzzle gives me a very distinguished look that the ladies tend to love (what can I say, this Gable has still got it!!), along with my 'turn you to mush' expressive eyes, I am just too handsome, what's not to love! I really really enjoy my cuddle time and will sit patiently waiting for my time to get me some lovins! I love to curl up right next to you and get as close as possible. And oh, did I mention how I will do anything for belly rubs?!!!! This ole boy hasn't let life get me down. 'It Happened One Night', I found myself in the local doggie jail, thinking I was gonna be doing 10 to life, but the judge was lenient and I'm out on parole for good behavior (and I really am a good boy!). I'm a very laid back and mellow fella, going with the flow, not wanting to make any extra work, which makes for me to be a great family addition even for a first time pet parent. Does I sound like a good fit for your family, I sure do hope so?! Please fill out my adoption application and let’s get me a 'Homecoming'...to your home!!!

Story
I have been fostering someone very special. Noel is looking for an amazing home to continue her journey…. Is that your family??? Noel (aka Little Bear and Winnie) is a 4 month old golden retriever/shepherd mix with the kindest heart. She was rescued after being abandoned outside with an injured leg, and so frightened. It’s obvious her start in life wasn’t the kindest.  I won’t dwell on where she started, as where her journey takes her is SO much more important!! But, her forever family needs to know what she needs to succeed and why! Knowledge is power She will be a medium sized gal. We have worked hard on trust, being brave and expecting nothing but love. She does AMAZING with other dogs, kind cats and calmer children. She is catching on to potty training but like every puppy is still a work in progress.  My dream forever home would be patient with her, have at least one female member of the family that would be involved in her care, older kind hearted children would be best, and a willingness to work slowly and steadily with her. She is filled with love and it’s my mission to show her nothing but that moving forward!  If you are ready to welcome Noel into your family, I promise it will be worth itMarch 27, 2024, 5:58 pm
