Story
✨ Let’s Talk About Raven… Because Honestly, She’s Unforgettable ✨ Some dogs sit politely for photos. Raven? Raven shows up, steals the spotlight, grabs the lollipop, throws in a little chaos, and somehow makes you fall completely in love with her in the process. Meet Raven — 7 years, 7 months young, currently in foster with the Stray Animal Adoption Program (SAAP) in Northern Kentucky… and quite possibly the most entertaining, expressive, full-of-life companion you’ll ever meet. This girl has presence. She’s got that big, joyful grin, those bright “what are we doing next?!” eyes, and a personality that fills every room she walks into (and occasionally rearranges it for fun). But Raven’s story didn’t start here. She was once someone’s whole world — adopted at just a year old, deeply loved, completely devoted to her dad. And then, in 2025, her world changed overnight when he passed away. Just like that, everything she knew was gone. And yet… here she is. Still loving. Still trusting. Still ready to give her whole heart all over again. That’s who Raven is. She’s the kind of dog who: Greets every human like a long-lost best friend (kids included — she adores them) “Talks” to you when you’re taking too long to meet her very reasonable demands Barks at dogs on TV because, excuse me, why are they in her house? Makes you laugh daily without even trying She’s incredibly smart, knows multiple commands, and learns fast — the kind of dog who gets you. And let’s talk about that athletic side… Listed as a Lab/Retriever mix, but take one look and you’ll see it — those long legs, that sleek build. There’s some Greyhound or Whippet energy in there because this girl can RUN. She recently completed a 10K hike/run like an absolute champion. Not just kept up — thrived. She regularly enjoys 3–5 mile walks and still comes home ready for love, snacks, and a well-earned nap. Translation: do NOT let the “almost 8” label fool you. Raven has plenty of adventures left to give. Her dream home? Someone who wants a true partner. A sidekick. A shadow. A “let’s go do life together” kind of dog. Active person or family ✔️ Hiking buddy ✔️ Fetch enthusiast (your arm has been warned) ✔️ Only dog home (she wants all the love, and honestly… she deserves it) ✔️ Raven is: ✔️ Spayed ✔️ Microchipped ✔️ Up to date on vaccines ✔️ Crate trained ✔️ Potty trained She lost her person… but not her spirit. Not her joy. Not her ability to love someone with her whole entire heart. Now she’s just waiting for someone to choose her again. Adoption Fee: $50 Fostered in Northern Kentucky Stray Animal Adoption Program (SAAP) Apply to meet Raven: https://www.adoptastray.com/adoptable-dogs If you can’t adopt, please share. Truly — her person might be one share away. Let’s make this her year. Let’s get Raven home. #adoptRaven #letsraveaboutraven        March 28, 2026, 3:38 pm

Story
Lizzie Beth has started her training in her foster home. But as her foster mom, I wanted to show daily life with Lizzie. Several people have applied, but Lizzie needs a really special home. Lizzie Beth came to SAAP with her sister. Both are semi feral but mostly terrified. Lizzie Beth came to us at the end of October. Her & her sister replied too heavily on one another so to further help them, they were separated. Lizzie has warmed up to 2 people in our house of 5. She seems to rely heavily on adult women. Kids are scary and men are absolutely terrifying! But Lizzie LOVES all dogs. She has yet to find a dog she doesn’t love. Older dogs can be easily exhausted by her energy. So she’ll need a playful, younger fur buddy. She loves cats and mostly wants to sniff them and be near them. She’s truly fascinated by them. (But never harms them) Lizzie still bolts from foster mom around the house and has kept me in shape from trying to catch her. We’ve begun using cheese to get entice her (& get her to eat from my hand) and a drag leash so she’s easy to grab. I forgot to put one on before her potty break and well…Lizzie really enjoyed the snow for a while! She also has a bad habit of nibbling holes in pillow cases, blankets, socks, slippers…etc. (ask me how I know ) BUT Lizzie Beth is SO sweet and snuggly. When it’s just foster mom, she will sleep on top of me or right beside me. She loves her furry foster siblings and cuddles with them too. To summarize: if you are interested in Lizzie Beth she needs the following (as far as we know at this time, it has taken several months for her to start to open up) -older kids. Young kids are scary and their toys are tasty -preferably no men, this might change but currently her foster dad is unable to handle her in the home and she usually runs from him. (Foster dad is sad as 95% of fosters all love him instantly) -Younger, social dogs in the home okay with play. -Patience because potty training is ruff and Lizzie takes time to open up. I know this is long but let me know if you have questions!  March 7, 2026, 3:29 pm

Story
Sandy is a beautiful mix of fluff.  Part Lab, part Yeti? Who's to say for sure. This gorgeous girl is 80+ pounds of love. As a senior, she has earned a life of leisure. She's looking for a home with plenty of comfy places to nap. Sandy is petrified of fireworks, and storms. She will need anti-anxiety meds. Combining fear with a healthy dose of curiosity which tempts her to explore, we strongly recommend Sandy have a yard with a high fence.  Our girl loves her some food and treats, and being tall has absolutely no problems countersurfing, so she'll need a door or an extra tall gate to keep her out of the kitchen.  Sandy gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home, but she does get growly when there are too many in close proximity.  She came to SAAP with some skin issues, but is all healed and looking for her forever home.March 7, 2026, 3:29 pm
