Story
Meet Nilla – Your Gentle, Cozy Companion 🐾 Nilla is a 5.5-year-old, 70 lb Yellow Labrador Retriever with the softest soul and the sweetest heart. She may be a little timid at first, but once she feels safe, she blossoms into the most loving, cuddly companion you could ask for. Nilla has a calm, relaxed personality and truly enjoys the simple things in life—cozy cuddles, a game of fetch, tasty treats, and even calming music while she peacefully sleeps in her crate. She’s the kind of dog who will quietly keep you company and fill your home with warmth. She is potty trained and not food aggressive, making her an easy and respectful addition to the right home. Nilla does great with people and cats, and she has a gentle, friendly nature. While she may growl if other dogs get in her space, she is not aggressive—she simply prefers to have her own space and would do best as the only dog in the home. Nilla would thrive in a patient, loving family who understands that shy dogs just need a little time to feel secure. Once she trusts you, her loyalty and affection are unmatched. If you’re looking for a calm, sweet companion who will happily curl up beside you and be your quiet best friend, Nilla might just be your perfect match 💛 Come meet Nilla and see for yourself how special she is! Nilla is being fostered near Cincinnati, OH. Her adoption fee is $300.00. Story
Meet Ophelia (or Opie, as we call her)! Ophelia is a 7 month old, 34-lb Lab Mix who loves cuddles, naps, and being close to her people. She’s adapted to foster life and ready to find her forever home! Ophelia's superpowers include being smart and food motivated (which makes training a breeze), getting along great with our other dogs, and responding beautifully to commands like “no” and “stop.” She came to us two weeks ago as an unwanted puppy mill puppy, timid at first, but growing more curious and playful every day. She sleeps through the night in her crate like a champion and naps quietly in her playpen during the workday, mastering the work-from-home rhythm right alongside us. In terms of house training, Ophelia is close to fully housebroken and now trots herself down to the yard when nature calls. She’s still working on being okay when left alone, it can be a little rough at first, but she’s making real progress. Some of her favorite things are hard chew toys (Nylabones especially), long afternoon naps, chasing our other dogs around the yard, and snuggling up close for cuddles. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal, food-motivated pup who’ll fit easily into your daily rhythm and reward you with full cuddle-bug energy, Ophelia might be your perfect match. Ophelia is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $300.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. Story
Meet Atlas! 🐾 Atlas is a handsome 7-month-old Lab mix weighing in at 43 pounds of pure puppy love! This sweet boy has a gentle, affectionate personality and absolutely adores his people. Whether he’s following you around the house, soaking up attention, or curling up in your lap after a fun-filled day, Atlas just wants to be part of the family. Like any young pup, Atlas loves to play! He enjoys tossing around his toys, chewing on his favorite bones, and going for walks to explore the world around him. He’s still figuring out the whole “fetch” thing, but he’s eager to learn and catches on quickly. Atlas is smart, food-motivated, and already picking up basic commands like a champ. While peanut butter isn’t really his thing, offer him some cheese or a crunchy ice cube and you’ll have a best friend for life! Atlas is currently working on leash manners and potty training and is making great progress every day. He seems interested in making friends with other dogs, cats, and children when introduced properly, so he could do well in many different types of homes. This lovable pup is looking for a family that will continue helping him grow into the amazing dog he’s destined to be. In return, Atlas promises endless love, goofy puppy antics, and lots of cuddles. Atlas is being fostered in Cincinnati, Ohio. His adoption fee is $300. Story
My family in Tennessee had a dog that had a litter of pups. His mother was a pit mix, but did not look it and did not have a pit bull personality. She was a very friendly, quiet easy going dog. I wrote golden lab in the description, because that is what Achilles looks like, but he is mixed breed. We don't know his father. I know his exact birthday and he is 5 years old. He has been with me since he was a pup of about 8 weeks. He is a good guard dog. Very loyal/territorial. He has never bitten anyone, but we have been very careful with him since he is a big guy. He does not like strangers, especially men & will be rather aggressive if a stranger comes around. He was taken to discipline training as a young dog and knows basic commands but i keep a firm hand on him when new people are around until he gets to know them. Once he warms up to people and is taught they are friends, he is good to be around new people.I am travelling more and will be moving and I need to rehouse him.
