Story
This is Ash. Ash is a 1 year old Silver Lab/Leopard hound mix. We got Ash from a farm family a couple hours away, when he was 8 weeks old. He was the runt. Ash will absolutely need a very experienced owner. Here is why. As Ash has gotten older we have figured out he has food aggression/reactivity. We are wanting to move and buy a house, unfortunately Ash is no longer fit for us. We feel that he would be best suited with someone who is experienced in this and/or a trainer is ideal. We love Ash dearly, which is why we are trying rehoming to the right people instead of euthanasia. Ash can be sweet, he loves meeting new people, he is very active and playful. He loves having your attention and going outside to play. Some new dogs he can get along with and others not... it depends on the dog. He has been around some cats, and not any babies, but 7 and up he seems okay with. If you or anyone you know is interested please contact me, we can talk more detail on him if interested. Thank you!

Story
This is Sam. Big body. Soft heart. Total wiggle-butt sweetheart. Sam is one of those dogs who doesn’t rush life — he feels it. He’s affectionate, goofy in the best way, and deeply bonded to his people. He’s housebroken, well-mannered, knows sit and shake, loves car rides, enjoys running free, and absolutely thrives on a good, predictable routine.Sam does best with smaller dogs, is good with some cats, and prefers a calm, consistent home where the furniture doesn’t move too often (If you rearrange the living room, he’ll take a minute… maybe two… then decide it’s safe. He’s a big guy — around 80–90 lbs — and very much a pancake dog. If Sam decides he’s done walking… He’s DONE. And honestly, it’s kind of adorable.Sam has experienced more change than any dog should, all through no fault of his own. But what stands out most about him is his resilience and his heart. When he recently returned to us, we placed him straight into foster care — and when he saw his former foster mom, he recognized her instantly. Full-body wiggles. Zero hesitation. Pure love. That’s Sam. He remembers. He bonds. He loves deeply.• Sam is available for adoption from his foster home.• For more information or to set up a meet & greet, TEXT 513-687-7598.Let’s give this gentle giant the forever home where he can finally relax and just be Sam.

Story
This handsome, high-energy boy is always ready for fun! Buddy loves to run, play, and burn off his enthusiasm with anyone who’s willing to join in. Buddy is a smart cookie who already knows sit, paw, and lay down. He’s also a big fan of chew toys, so we recommend having plenty of durable toys and enrichment activities on hand to keep him happily occupied. He’s been doing well in playgroups here at the shelter, though he can be a bit selective with his dog friend and seems to do better with dogs outside of the home. Because of this, we encourage you to bring any resident dogs—and children—along for a meet-and-greet to ensure it’s the perfect match. If Buddy sounds like your kind of companion, give us a call or stop by the SPCA Cincinnati today to meet him!

Story
Hello! My name is Biscuit. I’m a 9 year Lab mix weighing about 60 pounds, and I’m the perfect blend of gentle, sweet, and laid-back. I can be a little shy when we first meet, but once I feel comfortable, my loving personality really shines. I’m a total sweetheart who enjoys the company of my people and my dog friends.  In my foster home, I love snuggling with the other dogs, going for leisurely walks, and then settling in for a cozy couch nap. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion to share quiet moments and simple joys, I just might be your perfect match.    Biscuit is part of our Senior Soulmates Program. If I’m adopted by a senior citizen, a generous donor will sponsor my adoption fee, and I’ll come with six months of heartworm prevention to help us start our life together off right.     If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion to share quiet moments and simple joys, I just might be your perfect match.    All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   January 9, 2026, 8:27 pm

Story
Meet Tzatziki! This handsome fella is a 65 lb. hunk and around 8 years old. He is a confident and independent dog that doesn't demand to be the center of attention, but is happy just to be in the presence of people who love him.  He likes everyone and is always polite when meeting new people, but reserves his true love and loyalty for his family.  Once you've made his inner circle he will happily curl up next to you on the couch or at your feet, and will be your permanent taste tester and plate cleaner extraordinaire. Tzatziki would be perfectly fine as an only dog, but can also coexist with other dogs that allow him to be the alpha of the pack. He doesn't require much exercise and is happy to lounge in the yard, but also enjoys a nice walk and is great on leash. He is crate trained and can occupy himself with a good chew toy or a nice long nap.   Tzatziki is currently going through heartworm treatment and is doing great! He is looking for a foster to adopt home that is willing to provide him with a soft couch and lots of love while he finishes his treatment (vet care is at the expense of the rescue until cleared for adoption.) Heartworm treatment protocol is rather easy for an older dog like him; leash walking to go to the bathroom, and relaxing indoors without much activity- which he happens to be quite good at anyway!  If you want to get a jump on adopting this handsome fella, submit an application today!  All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home.
