Story
This is Ash. Ash is a 1 year old Silver Lab/Leopard hound mix. We got Ash from a farm family a couple hours away, when he was 8 weeks old. He was the runt. Ash will absolutely need a very experienced owner. Here is why. As Ash has gotten older we have figured out he has food aggression/reactivity. We are wanting to move and buy a house, unfortunately Ash is no longer fit for us. We feel that he would be best suited with someone who is experienced in this and/or a trainer is ideal. We love Ash dearly, which is why we are trying rehoming to the right people instead of euthanasia. Ash can be sweet, he loves meeting new people, he is very active and playful. He loves having your attention and going outside to play. Some new dogs he can get along with and others not... it depends on the dog. He has been around some cats, and not any babies, but 7 and up he seems okay with. If you or anyone you know is interested please contact me, we can talk more detail on him if interested. Thank you!

Story
We are looking to rehome one of our dogs Argo. She is three years old and was great with our kids. Argo does not get along with our 20 pound Maltese poodle and is very territorial in general. She will protect a house and an owner, that is for sure. She is also in constant need of attention and has major anxiety when left alone for long periods of time. She is an extremely beautiful dog and very loving to us but we think she will do best in a single-pet home and an owner who is willing to train her, walk her and give her undivided attention. We just do not have space or time for her. She is a lab shepherd mix. We just do NOT want her to go to a shelter.

Story
This handsome, high-energy boy is always ready for fun! Buddy loves to run, play, and burn off his enthusiasm with anyone who’s willing to join in. Buddy is a smart cookie who already knows sit, paw, and lay down. He’s also a big fan of chew toys, so we recommend having plenty of durable toys and enrichment activities on hand to keep him happily occupied. He’s been doing well in playgroups here at the shelter, though he can be a bit selective with his dog friends and would need to be the only dog in the home.If Buddy sounds like your kind of companion, give us a call or stop by the SPCA Cincinnati today to meet him!

Story
Come meet me and hundreds of adoptable pets at Cincinnati's mega adoption event, My Furry Valentine! Saturday, February 21st and Sunday February 22nd at Spooky Nook Sports! Cookie is a 5-year-old, 70-pound Labrador with a beautiful chocolate coat and soulful brown eyes. Her story is one of resilience, healing, and hope. Cookie grew up in a puppy mill where she was overbred and forced to produce litter after litter. She never experienced the love or attention that every dog deserves. Now safely rescued, she’s learning what it means to be a cherished pet. Despite her difficult past, Cookie’s heart is overflowing with affection. Her loyal and gentle nature shines through more each day as she grows in confidence. She craves human companionship and is happiest when she can sit close to her person, soaking up ear scratches and snuggles. Cookie has been a respectful and easy houseguest in her foster home. She finds comfort in her crate and enjoys having a safe, cozy space to relax. She sleeps quietly there through the night and greets everyone with a loudly thumping tail each morning. She appears to get along with both cats and other dogs, though slow, thoughtful introductions are important since she is timid and unsure in new situations. Cookie would do best with a calm and confident canine companion. Cookie is currently working on potty training but this smart girl already knows to use pee pads. With continued support Cookie is sure to master new routines. She loves spending time outdoors and enjoys walks, where she shows lovely leash manners. Cookie would thrive in a calm, patient home willing to let her blossom at her own pace. In return, she promises unwavering loyalty, companionship, and the kind of love only a grateful Labrador can give. Cookie is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $250.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Come meet me and hundreds of adoptable pets at Cincinnati's mega adoption event, My Furry Valentine! Saturday, February 21st and Sunday February 22nd at Spooky Nook Sports! Meet Zane! At 1.5 years old and about 55 pounds (though he looks even bigger in person!), Zane is the perfect match for anyone looking for a big, lovable, goofy best friend with an even bigger personality. Zane came to us from a high-intake shelter in West Virginia where space is limited. The staff works incredibly hard to care for every dog, and while some dogs spend time in outdoor kennels with dog houses and heaters, Zane was ready for a chance to stretch out and settle into a home — and from the first 30 minutes in foster care, he acted like he’d lived there forever. He is incredibly friendly and affectionate. Within minutes of arriving, he was rolling all over the bed, climbing into laps, wiggling around for belly rubs, and snuggling under the covers like a pro. He may be a big guy, but he absolutely believes he’s a lap dog. His tail basically never stops wagging! Zane is great with other dogs of all sizes and has the funniest, go-with-the-flow play style. He recently met a tiny, feisty Jack Russell who had a lot to say about his big, happy energy. While she grumbled and snapped, Zane basically gave her a “girl, whatever” and gently plopped his giant paw on her head before trying to keep the party going. He’s silly, unbothered, and just wants everyone to be friends. He’s a smart boy and is already showing good instincts with his potty habits. With a little routine and consistency, he’ll catch on quickly. Zane tested positive for Lyme disease, which is a non-contagious, tick-borne illness. He is currently being treated with antibiotics. If Zane finds his forever home before completing his medication, the remaining medication will be sent along with him. Many dogs who test positive for Lyme go on to live happy, normal lives with no long-term effects. If you’re looking for a big, affectionate, happy-go-lucky companion who will keep you laughing, steal your blankets, and happily curl up beside you at the end of the day, Zane is ready to be your guy. Zane is currently in foster care in Cincinnati, Ohio. His adoption fee is $250.00. Story
Come meet me and hundreds of adoptable pets at Cincinnati's mega adoption event, My Furry Valentine! Saturday, February 21st and Sunday February 22nd at Spooky Nook Sports! This handsome man is Atlas! Atlas is a 4-month-old Lab mix who weighs about 30 pounds. Based on his current weight, we expect him to be a large dog when he grows up! Atlas is your typical puppy - happy, silly, and just trying to figure out the world! He enjoys playing and digging in the snow, playing with toys, and even seems to be fond of bath time! Atlas is a very smart boy and has been working on some tricks! He would love a family who will continue to teach him fun things as he seems to enjoy his short training sessions already! He loves attention and will be happy to play and snuggle with you all while becoming your best friend! Since he loves spending time with his people, he can be vocal at times in his crate or when he is not with you. For this reason, apartment living would not be the best environment for him. He is not yet house-trained, so his family will need to be okay with continuing to help him master that skill! If you are looking for a large, goofy best friend to add to your forever family, apply today! Atlas is fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. His adoption fee is $400.00.
