You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Heath is fun-loving, HIGHLY intelligent, goofy, fully motivated, very affectionate, and exemplifies the term “go-dog.” Whatever you want to get out of the house and do, Heath wants to do it with you. He is fully obedience trained (including sit-stay, down-stay, heal, loose-leash-walking, “place,” etc…) and loves working with his humans. He is an expert at running agility courses and is always up for a new challenge. He is so smart and obedient, he almost became a search and rescue dog! If you want a buddy who can motivate you and keep up with you while you go for a long run, take a challenging hike, go for a bike ride, or just spend time with you outdoors, and then come home and snuggle with you on the couch, Heath is the right dog for you! Heath adores every person he has ever met, and he really enjoys a good cuddle and some love, and seeing him smile ear to ear will always brighten your day. He really enjoys playing fetch and tug-of-war. He loves training and working through his obedience cues. He is high energy and would love to live in a yard with a 6 foot fence so he can gallop and play around with you at home. Heath loves other dogs and would do best with another dog who is as playful and goofy as he is, he could also make a great only dog. He would love to live with a family with older children, a couple, or to be the best buddy to a single owner. Don’t let his middle-age fool you, Heath is a young dog in his heart, body, and soul. He is always ready to jump right into a new adventure with a big grin, high-hopes, and a whole heart. Everyone who works at the boarding facility where he currently lives, wants to take him home, he is just that charismatic and sweet. If you think Heath may be right for you, please come on by and see him. Don’t miss out on this one. He’d be so happy to meet you!   No cats!!!!  If you are interested in Heath, please contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com      *** Click here to sponsor this dog! *** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 5:13 pm

Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Poppy is a great all around family dog and one who you will be proud to call 'Our girl.' Her foster says 'She is a total sweetheart', and she gave us a great write up on Poppy, so you can get to know her before you ever see her.  Poppy is happiest when lying in the sun or napping next to you on the couch. She also likes to sleep at the end of the bed next to your feet.  She is completely housetrained and has never had an accident in the house (she currently enjoys the freedom of a fenced in yard for potty breaks). She will let you know when it is time to play with her tennis ball or go for her daily walk to explore the neighborhood by giving you a look and a bark. Unfortunately, she has issues with smaller dogs and has bitten them when provoked or feeling jealous, so no smaller dogs in her new family. She plays well with bigger dogs and goes to doggy daycare twice a week for socialization, where the staff absolutely adores her. She currently lives with a 70lb coonhound mix who she likes to play with. Poppy came to us three years ago with severe separation anxiety issues but has come a long way and does well for a few hours in her “indestructible” crate – just give her a peanut butter-filled Kong and she will do okay while you go out for a bit. Poppy is looking for a home where she can be the center of your world and she will repay you with unconditional love and companionship. What makes Poppy great… ·         Relatively low energy dog who just enjoys being with her owner(s). She has bouts of energy and will want to play fetch but never for too long. ·         Zero food aggression. She eats when she is hungry, and she loves to savor her treats and thinks ice cubes are the best treat ever! ·         Loves to go on walks and they don’t have to be super long – 10-15 minutes a night keeps her happy, but will happily join you on a longer walk when possible. ·         LOVES people and will happily greet your guests with enthusiasm. She has been around small children with no issues. ·         Well socialized with dogs her size or bigger by going to doggy daycare twice a week (and will be zonked out all night after a day of playing). However, she seems to be more interested in people than other dogs in general. ·         Knows basic commands like sit, shake and come. ·         She is great in cars. She will chill out in the back seat and just enjoy the view. ·         Overall very healthy with no major issues. Where Poppy has some challenges… ·         Separation anxiety – would not do well for long days without someone home – highly recommended that she be crated while alone to avoid any damage to property. ·         Aggression toward smaller dogs – when feeling jealous or annoyed. ·         Good on leash but could use more training/reinforcement as she will get overly excited (pulling, barking) when she sees another dog.   Full of life and love, she is all ready to be yours. She has had a complete vetting and has all her shots. All she needs now to complete her world is for you to clip on your leash, bend over, and say 'Let's go home, Poppy'. If you are interested in Poppy, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 5:13 pm

Her foster certainly did and then , suddenly, there were puppies! Surprise! Toochie has turned out to be as good a mama as she is a house dog. Full of praise for her, her foster says 'Toochie wants to remind you that adopting an older dog like her means not having to deal with things like housebreaking, leash training, or destructive behaviors. No rough housing or jumping up on guests. All the cream has risen to the top. You get all of the perks with none of the work!' And the best part, at only 5 years old, she is not even really an older dog! You get it all! She has now raised all her puppies and is ready to find her own home where she can love you with all her heart.  She is showing herself good with other dogs, but not so happy with cats, so a catless home will be best for her to shine like the diamond she is. Come see her sparkle! She is currently prescribed medication to help control her anxiety and temperament. Rosie would do well in a house with a yard and space for her to run around and lounge in the grass. She would be best in a home with no other pets or small children. She likes her space and playing with (tearing open) stuffed toys. Rosie enjoys chasing tennis balls in the yard and laying in the sunniest spots in the house. Her dream day includes a long morning walk (ideally spotting a bunny or other furry animal), snoozing the rest of the morning, laying and playing in the yard and finishing up the evening with a fresh stuffed toy!If you are interested in adopting Rosie, please contact:Christopher Tedeschi CTedeschi23@gmail.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 5:13 pm

Monk knows all the basic commands and walks beautifully on leash. He is obedient but not without a naughty streak. He will jump a fence he can see through and is an opportunist with food left lying about. A privacy fence or 5' + vertical slat fence is recommended.   Monk is a lover, not a fighter. He loves doggy daycare and other dogs and long hikes. He is a ball enthusiast!   The right home for Monk will meet his exercise needs, use positive reinforcement methods, and will not leave him without company for long periods. He will do best if left home with another dog. Story
Ella is 3 years old. I got her when she was 6 weeks old, my 8 year old picked her out, we got her when my father passed away. She is an excellent dog, she loves everyone, she is very mellow and laid back. She would make an amazing service dog for someone. She knows when I'm sad, she comforts me. She loves to run, chase squirrels and swim! She knows as soon as she sees her leash and she gets super excited, she loves being outdoors. She is the absolute best dog I have ever had. She is my life but unfortunately I had to move in with my sister until my place is ready and my sister's landlord is threatening eviction because she doesn't allow pets. I do not want her going to the pound, I want the chance to get her back if possible, but who ever fosters her she will steal their heart guaranteed.

Story
You have a fascination with Charlie because he is insanely handsome and has one of the best personalities around town? You wish you could add him to your family? You need a cute goofball who loves people to make you smile and laugh? You`re so lucky, this boy is available and ready to be yours. While we don`t know too much about Charlie because he came from another shelter and refuses to share ALL of his secrets with us, we have learned quite a few things he just can`t hide. One of them being that he LOVES to shake hands. Just met? Hand shake. Wants attention? Hand shake. Waving hi? Yeah, he does that. He likes to sit in your lap (or at least try to, please don`t tell him he`s bigger than 10 pounds, we don`t want to ruin it for him.) He also loves to play with toys. Squeaks, balls, ropes - you name is, Charlie is all over it. Also, have we mentioned how handsome he is? You`re sure to be the envy of the neighborhood with a dog like him by your side. Think he`s the right dog for you? Come to Baltimore Humane and meet him today! What`s Next? We recommend submitting a general online adoption application and then heading to the shelter during our normal adoption hours to meet our available animals. Please note: all applications are considered general until the animal has been met. If you have any questions, please contact animalcenter@bmorehumane.org or 410-833-8848 Ext/Opt 2.

Story
Hi there-- I`m Zeus, a dapper gent looking for a home to call my own. I would love to be an `Only Dog` in my new family`s home. I`m not too excited about those other dogs. They call me a `Labraheeler,` which is a unique mix of Labrador and Australian cattle dog. One of my favorite activities is solving food puzzles! The humans are amazed that I always figure them out! Another favorite activity is hanging around my people! I love to follow them everywhere! My energy levels are moderate and I`m pretty low-maintenance in the house, but I do love activity outside. My favorite foods are cheese, chicken, and beef, although I also enjoy a good bone. I like to hide my favorites and find them later! Oh, it`s important you know that I`m a social eater, which means I prefer to eat my meal when my humans are eating. If you are looking for a loyal, deeply affectionate dog who loves attention and showers humans with attention in return, then you and I are probably a match made in heaven!Interested in adopting me? We recommend submitting a general online adoption application and then heading to the shelter during our normal adoption hours (Mon: 12-4pm and Tues-Sun: 12-5pm) to meet our available animals. Please note: all applications are considered general until the animal has been met. If you have any questions, please contact animalcenter@bmorehumane.org or 410-833-8848 Ext/Opt 2.

Story
Hey there! I`m Rufus and I am as sweet as I am handsome. I`m still a very young guy who has a lot to learn, but I`m super smart and love people. I am a very excitable guy. I love toys, especially ones that squeak! I enjoy long walks and would love to adventure with you. In my previous home, children visited often and I did well with them! While there isn`t any history of me living with other animals, with the proper introduction, I could be open to the idea of having a permanent best friend!Interested in adopting me? We recommend submitting a general online adoption application and then heading to the shelter during our normal adoption hours (Mon: 12-4pm and Tues-Sun: 12-5pm) to meet our available animals. She is adorable and charming. This love bug is eager to find her forever home where she can be the center of attention. Meeka is not just cute, she's incredibly smart, a little bit mischievous, and loves to please her person. She'll snuggle with you, play with her toys, and keep you entertained. Meeka will thrive in a home where she can be the center of attention, which is why she would do best as the only pet in the household. She loves being the star of the show and having all the love and attention to herself. While Meeka is incredibly loving and awesome, she prefers a calm and serene environment, making her not suitable for small children. She craves a peaceful atmosphere where she can relax and enjoy the company of her favorite humans. Meeka is house broken and does fine being left on her own in the house. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a pup who will shower you with love and loyalty, Meeka Is the perfect match for you! Meeka is going to need a home with a 6 ft privacy fence around the yard.  If you are interested in Meeka please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 5:13 pm
