His foster deadline is almost up and he has NOWHERE to go :( Mateo was rescued from a beach in Puerto Rico and has been through a lot of transition since — including being bounced between multiple foster homes, never truly getting the stability he deserves. The good news? Mateo is naturally affectionate from the start. He loves to snuggle, happily lounges by your side, and is the perfect TV-watching buddy. He bonds quickly and just wants to be close to his person. Like many dogs who have experienced instability, Mateo can be a bit sensitive around high-value items like bones, especially if he feels unsure. With structure, respect for his space, and proper guidance, he continues to build confidence. Mateo cannot live in a loud area. The city, loud noises, and constant activity are overwhelming for him. He needs a quiet home with a yard, where he can feel safe and relaxed. This sweet boy is so ready to finally land somewhere permanent.
