Story

Skye is an amazing, loving black lab, English breed so shorter and also suffers from a love of food so she is overweight. She is approximately 7 years old. She has been in a home with cats, dogs and had children around and loves them all. Unfortunately her owner (my Mom) passed away recently and she is now an orphan who needs a loving home. We have full house including 5 pets and are sad to say we cannot keep her with us forever. To say she has been loved deeply, spoiled and adores people is an understatement. She follows her person around and needs a person who can give her lots of love and attention. She’s content just being next to someone who loves her and wants to snuggle up next to you. She is up to date on shots and no medical issues aside from obesity. Skye is a beloved family pet and I will be picky about her new home. She would make am amazing pet for an older person/family as she came from that environment and is a gentle giant. No fee but amazing home for her is a must!

WE PROCESS APPLICANTS AND SET APPOINTMENTS BASED ON THE ORDER APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED , so while you are welcome to email ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, you will want to complete the ONLINE APPLICATION ASAP , which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10 day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fee is $220 for adults, $295 for puppies (under 6 months), and $150 for seniors (8 yrs and up) which covers the cost of the spay/neuter, age appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. The majority of dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers, so there is often very little known about their history or even current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. Make sure to let us know you saw Coal on Adopt-a-pet. Coal is a recent owner surrender that we are already in love with! This pup went from being an indoor dog to a chain tie out due to the owner's health decline. The sweetness seen in his eyes, he just wants to be part of a family again. Coal has lived with other dogs, with proper introduction he may do well with new friends. Unknown cat behavior, we only say no small children due to his age and tolerance.

Athena is a sweet girl, though I was not prepared for the responsibility of raising a puppy, which is a fault of my own. I care about her very much and want to find her a good home with responsible owners that can provide her the time and attention she needs. She will be 11 weeks old on July 30th, 2024. I've been potty training her to use the bathroom outside, though she still needs additional training. She's had a couple of her vaccines, and will require more as she gets a bit older. I bought a lot of stuff for her that I will give to anyone who wishes to adopt her. I have several toys, a collar, a leash, a harness (for walking), about a month worth of food, and a lot of treats. While I may not understand your game of Rock-Paper-Scissors-Lizard-Spock, I am a blast to be around! I prefer things more my speed, such as fetch and playing with toys. I can fetch a ball with the precision of Howard's engineering and sniff out treats faster than Raj musters the courage to talk to women. I’m as friendly as can be and a real social butterfly. I would love to meet all of your friends no matter how odd they may be. We could get together for take out in your living room. Sounds like a good time to me! Giving me belly rubs and ear scratches are guaranteed to elicit a happy "Bazinga!" Okay, maybe just a wagging tail, but it's the thought that counts, right? I’ve been working hard at learning new skills like accessorizing my outfits. Have you seen my beautiful pink harness? A pop of any color, perhaps some mint green, really makes me look good. I have also been to a few training sessions with the Teacher’s Pet Program in my area. I’m learning so much and can’t wait to show you. I am always up for an adventure, except to the laundry room if it’s laundry day. I’d love to explore the world with you or at least the park down the street. I thrive in a fun and vibrant environment with any children being over 8 years old or older. Bonus points if you can quote Th Big Bang Theory on a regular basis.
