Meet Charlie – the Sweetest head turning White Lab! Charlie is a friendly Puppy, enthusiastic, and smart English Labrador (male, born July 1, 2025). He’s crate trained and knows basic commands: sit, down, stay, go potty. He’s up to date on shots, healthy, and ready for new adventures. Charlie is a sweet loving dog looking for the right family to bond and offer his loyal lifetime company. He’s still working on leash manners and some times he can get over excited and be rough on little kids and little pets. That plus our busy schedule is why we are looking for him an experienced adopter with experience in large breed dogs. If you’re ready for a loyal, loving, energetic companion, Charlie is waiting to steal your heart! 📩 Contact us to meet him today!

Story
Meet Jerry — the Sweetest Little Braveheart! At just 4 months old, Jerry is learning that the big world isn’t such a scary place after all. With every gentle touch and kind word, his confidence grows — and his tail wags a little faster! This super-duper sweet pup is looking for a family that’s empathetic, compassionate, and full of love — the kind of people who will show him patience as he continues to discover how wonderful life can be. If you’ve got an open heart and room for one adorable, tender-hearted puppy, Jerry’s ready to melt your soul.  We do not have a facility for you to visit. You are welcome to email ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, but please complete the online application, which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10-day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fees are listed on our website and cover the cost of the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. Most dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers so there is often very little known about their history or current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC has a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, and we have trainers who will offer free phone/email support. November 25, 2025, 3:45 pm

Story
Meet Cracklewood.Hi there! My name is Cracklewood, and I am a little over 3 years old. I am so ready to find my own home!I can be shy when meeting new people, so I would do best with a patient adopter who will go at my pace. The world can still feel a little scary to me. That’s why I’m hoping for a quiet home where I can take things slow and learn that not all people are so bad. With time, patience, and kindness, I will open up. And when I do, you will see just how loyal and loving I can be.Once I feel safe, my playful side starts to shine. I love toys and have a spunky streak that surprises everyone. I do okay with other dogs, but I am still figuring out how to be a dog.Fun fact about Cracklewood: she loves strawberry cake with vanilla icing!I cannot wait to find someone who believes in me and will help me grow braver every day. With your love and support, I know I will blossom into the happy, confident dog I am meant to be.Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

Story
Meet Shadow!Hi there! My name’s Shadow and I have a huge heart, and I’ve got plenty of love to give!I’m a happy, gentle soul who loves going for long walks — I’m great on a leash and I don't pull hard. I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but if you give me a slow introduction (and maybe a few of my favorite treats), I’ll warm up to you quickly. I haven’t spent much time around young kids, but I think I’d do well with calm, respectful children around 10 and up.I get along with other dogs and have made a few good friends here at the shelter — we love to play together while I wait for my turn to find my forever home. Most of my pals have already been adopted, and I can’t help but wonder when it’ll be my turn. Once I’m home, you can count on me to be your snuggle buddy and couch companion. I’ll keep your spot warm if you get up during our favorite show! I’m affectionate, clean, patient, and ready to be the best girl I can be for my forever person. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and gentle friend — I think we might be a perfect match. *If your application was approved and you received a call back from the Humane Society of Macomb for a meet and greet, plan to take the animal home that day. Be prepared to adopt and to bring a home a new family member. We cannot place adult dogs on hold to come pick up for another day.Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

Story
Sweet, sweet Stella! She is estimated to be about 8 months old and weighs 35 pounds right now. Meet Stella, this little ray of light is so full of love, she is a treasure. Crawling up in your lap makes her so happy, what a wonderful best friend she is going to be. She has about the softest ears, a cute waggy tail and walks nice on a leash. What a fun girl too, she is up for about anything, she is great in the car and is ready to go on adventures. We took her to an event where there was a lure course, she absolutely loved it, and did amazing, she was a natural. Stella just craves closeness and reassurance but can be a little submissive. She is a bundle of potential, eager to learn and grow, especially if she has a leader to rely on for guidance and that can help build her confidence. She can also still be a little puppy mouthy, so she will need a little work on that. Stella will need a home where any children are more calm, respectful and at least 8 years old. Come and meet Stella—she's ready to capture your heart and be by your side through all of life's adventures! If you are interested in Stella and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*
