Story
Name: Oreo DOB: 12/17/24Breed: Lab MixeWeight: 47lbs Sex: Neutered MaleLocation: Buffalo Oreo is a sweet, lovable, and energetic 11 month male black lab mix puppy. He loves to play tug a rope, go on walks, and cuddle with you on the couch. He’s a quick learner and very smart. He would do best with a yard to play and run around and likes kids, people, and other dogs. He’s a cute and sweet boy that needs a family that not only will love and care for him but also continue to properly train him and guide him. I’ve only had Oreo for a few days and he has already filled my home with joy and learned a lot of training! If you are interested in adopting Oreo, please apply at https://www.716paws.org/adopt or message the rescue if you are already pre-approved. ##2259359##

Story
Meet Texas (aka Simba) / Liam(his old shelter name) Age: 1.5 years Breed: Labrador Retriever Location: Buffalo, NY Looking for: A calm, patient home with experience or willingness to support a shy, anxious dog Texas, lovingly nicknamed Simba for his lion-like appearance, is a beautiful 1.5-year-old Lab who’s navigating the world with a cautious heart. After a long journey from Texas and being separated from his littermates, he’s been adjusting slowly and steadily in his foster home here in Buffalo. He’s not your typical energetic pup—he’s a quiet observer, still learning to feel safe and understood. Temperament & PersonalityTexas is highly anxious and fearful of new people and environments. He is not yet comfortable being approached or touched by unfamiliar humans and will retreat or growl if approached too quickly—especially if someone looks him directly in the eye or reaches for his head. He thrives when given space and time, and slow, respectful introductions are a must. Despite his hesitations with people, Texas is dog-friendly—but only in open spaces where he has the freedom to move away if needed. He does well at daycare with a small group of dogs, enjoying the occasional interaction before retreating to a quiet spot. Food & RoutinesTexas is a total foodie! He absolutely loves home-cooked meals, especially chicken and rice, and will patiently wait while his food is prepared. Treats are a great way to start building trust, but they should be offered slowly and from a distance—gradually working toward closer contact over time. Play & ActivityHe’s not a playful dog—at least not yet. He prefers calm surroundings and isn’t interested in toys or games with humans just yet. However, he loves car rides! So much so that if you head outside for a walk, he’ll guide you to the car instead. He may need some gentle redirection to stay on track for a walk. Training & House HabitsTexas is mostly house-trained. He does all his business outside when taken regularly, but since he drinks a lot of water, he sometimes uses training pads for pee when indoors. He is crate-trained and finds a lot of comfort in that space. He’s currently working on: Building confidence with human interactions Engaging with puzzle toys and calming activities Walking confidently on a leash Expanding his comfort zone with structured exposure Important Notes for Potential AdoptersMultiple meet-and-greets are required, ideally over the course of a week, in calm, quiet areas or near his foster’s home. Do not pet or approach him directly for the first week or more—give him time to observe and warm up. A home without small children is necessary, due to his fear of fast movements and loud environments. He does best in a quiet, structured home with someone who can offer consistency, routine, and lots of patience. Texas is not for the average adopter—he needs someone special. Someone who sees past the fear and into his gentle soul. With time, understanding, and space to grow, this boy has the potential to feel safe, loved, and maybe even a little playful one day. Story
Meet Roo Age: 12 weeksWeight: 13 lbsBreed: Adorable Lab mix with big girl energy This little cutie is all puppy — playful, silly, curious, and full of love! Roo is doing great with potty training and has zero accidents in her crate once she settles (she’ll protest for a few minutes first, but then snoozes like a champ ). Here’s what makes Roo special: Loves other dogs and would thrive with a playful buddy Unknown with cats, but we suspect she’ll be just fine Big fan of chewing and mouth play — she’s a puppy after all! But she redirects beautifully Turns into a sweet, cuddly snuggle bug when she’s tired HUGE appetite — this girl loves her meals Expected to grow into a larger-sized adult Roo is looking for a family ready for all the joys (and a little chaos) that come with raising a puppy. If you want a fun, loving, goofy best friend, Roo is your girl! Apply to adopt Roo through Buddy’s today! (146) ##2585914##

Story
Meet Skye! Lab Mix | Male | 4–5 Years | 45 lbs Looking for a pup past the wild puppy stage but still full of personality? That’s me! I’m: • Potty trained • Great with kids & dogs • A total gentleman on the leash… unless a squirrel shows up  • Polite at parties (yep, I’m the perfect guest!) I'm a bit of an escape artist, so I'm not the best in the crate or being left alone in the yard—but don’t worry—I’m super respectful when left alone in the house, and I love a short walk if you don't have a fence! My favorite things? Lounging on the couch to watch TV, zoomies twice a day (gotta keep you laughing!), tug-of-war, and chewing on my stuffed toys. If you’re ready for a loving, fun, easygoing companion, I’d love to meet you! Apply today at buddysrescue.org and let’s make it official! (10) ##2495399##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi there, I’m Jill! I’m a 2-year-old, Lab mix with the softest fur and big brown eyes that people can’t help but fall in love with. After you give me  a treat or two, I’ll be your loyal shadow and best snuggle buddy. I adore attention from my people — pets, belly rubs, and couch cuddles are my absolute favorite. And did I mention treats? Oh my goodness, those are the best! Offer me a snack, and I’ll happily follow you anywhere. Toys are also my jam — squeaky, chewy, bouncy, I love them all! I even enjoy romping around with my canine foster brother. He’s a little guy, so I make sure to play gently with him. After playtime, you’ll usually find me curled up on the couch with a good bone or snoozing the afternoon away. I’m also cat-friendly — I don’t mind them at all, even if they hiss or swat at me. When it comes to kids, I do better with older ones, since I’m still figuring out the little ones under 6.  It’s time for me to find my very own family. Could that be you? If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, and snuggly girl to love forever, I’ll be waiting! Apply to adopt me at BuffaloCares.org.
