Story
This is Piper She's a 2 yrs old Red Fox Labrador Retriever. She loves everyone. When she was 6 months old she was with a cat and was fine. She loves having a dog companion. She had a Cocker Spaniel brother that passed away and she misses him so much. She needs manners on a leash and would benefit from having a fenced in yard. She sleeps next to me in bed every night, she thinks she's a lap dog. I dont have any certain time frame that she has to be rehomed. I will be very selective and check references. I work long hours and she needs to have a more active life. * I will not rehome her to a shelter. There will be too many transitions for her to adjust to.

Story
Meet Gretchen! Gretchen is an 8 year old Labrador Retriever rescued from a life of breeding. She left behind her mama years to finally experience life as a puppy! Despite her age, Gretchen is full of energy and character. She loves to follow you around the house, fetch tennis balls, and run around with a squeaky toy. She also enjoys a game of keep-away with her dog foster brother. Gretchen is a typical Lab with mischievous curiosity- she’s known to steal a blanket off the sofa and run around the house, sniff out whatever you’re eating, and occasionally chase the cat. When her shenanigans are over, she cuddles up with her humans and dog friends for a nap- a perfect combination of active and chill. Gretchen walks nicely on the leash and is mostly housebroken. She sleeps in a crate at night, settling within a few minutes. Gretchen can live in a home with dogs and dog-savvy cats and dog-savvy children, as she can be snatchy with treats (we’re working on it!). She is up-to-date on shots and vaccinations. Story
Ebony's story. She was dumped in our neighborhood and we're not sure if she was dumped with her puppies or if she gave birth in the woods. She was spotted several times by the neighbors, sometimes by herself, sometimes with a puppy or two. If anybody tried to approach her, she would run back into the dense woods. We were not aware of her presence until we got a call from animal control saying that a neighbor had spotted her across the street from their yard. We ran down to the neigbors and set a trap in their front yard. First day, we caught a neighborhood cat, next day, a feral cat. Third day was a charm, we got up early that moring and there she was in the trap! We brought her back to the rescue, let her decompress for a couple of hours and then the hunt was on for her puppies. We walked her through the woods playing puppy crying sounds on the phone, nothing. We searched for days, nothing. We finally had to give up, knowing that none of them could possibly be alive at this point. She had a sadness about her for a few days and we all cried with her. Her transformation now has been amazing! She's a happy crazy clown of a dog! She's been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, crate trained and house broken. We believe her to be what we call a Pit-A-Dor, half Lab, half Pit, best combination of dog on the planet! She's ready for her forever family to bring her home! Could that be you? She is ready for immediate transport to your area. ADOPTION FEE $500

Story
KENNEL ID #18804 Meet Pistol, a Golden Retriever and German Shorthair Pointer mix. He will turn 4 years old on April 9th. Pistol is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. He weighs about 80 pounds and believes he’s a lap dog!  Pistol is housebroken and crate-trained. He gets along well with cats and most other dogs, making him a great companion. As a vigilant watchdog, he has lots of energy and loves to play and run around. His favorite toy is a squeaky chicken, and he enjoys playing fetch. When he’s not active, he loves to relax and receive belly rubs. Although Pistol was raised around children, he has recently become uncomfortable in their presence, and his warning growls can be intimidating for kids. Therefore, his owners are looking for a home without children. Story
Gem is a four-year-old German Shorthair Pointer (GSP) with a zest for life and a loving nature. Like most GSPs, she’s full of energy and thrives in a home that can keep up with her active lifestyle. Whether it’s hiking, running, or exploring the great outdoors, Gem is ready to be your adventure buddy. After a day of activity, she loves nothing more than to settle down for some quality snuggle time with her favorite people. Her favorite thing, beyond anything else, is to be right by her person's side. Gem is well-mannered and has a solid foundation of basic training. She’s potty trained, walks well on a leash, and has reliable recall skills, making her a joy to take on outings. However, her hunting breed instincts are strong, and she has a high prey drive, so she requires a secure, tall, physically fenced yard (no electric fences or tie outs) to safely burn off her energy. Gem’s ideal home is a single-family home with plenty of space and a secure yard, as she needs room to run and play. She is not a good fit for renters or homes with restrictions on outdoor space. Due to her desire to chase, Gem is also not suitable for a home with cats or small animals. She lives in a foster home with six other dogs and gets along well with them, so she would love another canine companion, but would also do well as an only dog! While Gem is friendly and affectionate, she can get nervous in certain situations. For this reason, she would do best in a home with children aged 15 or older who can understand and respect her boundaries. She’s crate-trained and is most comfortable and will need to be crated when her family isn’t home, which helps her feel safe and secure. Gem is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated, so she’s ready to transition smoothly into her new home. Her ideal family will not only appreciate her energetic and playful nature but also provide the structure and understanding she needs. If you’re looking for a loyal, active companion and are willing to travel to Reading, PA, to meet her, Gem could be the perfect fit!
