KENNEL ID #18804 Meet Pistol, a Golden Retriever and German Shorthair Pointer mix. He will turn 4 years old on April 9th. Pistol is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. He weighs about 80 pounds and believes he’s a lap dog!  Pistol is housebroken and crate-trained. He gets along well with cats and most other dogs, making him a great companion. As a vigilant watchdog, he has lots of energy and loves to play and run around. His favorite toy is a squeaky chicken, and he enjoys playing fetch. When he’s not active, he loves to relax and receive belly rubs. Although Pistol was raised around children, he has recently become uncomfortable in their presence, and his warning growls can be intimidating for kids. Therefore, his owners are looking for a home without children. Transfer Fee $200 Thank you for your interest in rescue.  If you would like to be considered for  adoption please submit an application to adopt.  If you have any questions regarding the adoption process please email: rescuedp2024@icloud.com   or ddlu219@yahoo.com  for dog/puppies.   APPLICATIONS TO ADOPT : DOG         BIRD        REPTILE          SMALL ANIMALS        April 11, 2025, 4:01 pm

Story
Meet Annie and Abilene! This inseparable duo shares an unbreakable bond that’s as heartwarming as it is inspiring. Growing up in the shelter without the socialization they needed, both girls are a bit on the shy side—Annie being the shyer of the two. But don’t let that fool you! Together, they bring out the best in each other, with Abilene’s playful energy encouraging Annie to open up and explore the world. Abilene, with her fabulous ears and gentle charm, is a bundle of playful energy once she feels comfortable. She absolutely loves romping with other dogs and is eager to wiggle her way into your heart as the fun-loving companion she’s meant to be. Annie, on the other hand, leans heavily on her sister for guidance. With Abilene by her side, Annie learns to trust, play, and embrace her curiosity. These two are perfectly matched, balancing each other in the sweetest way possible. Annie and Abilene must be adopted together—they’re a package deal of love, loyalty, and joy. If you’re ready to welcome double the companionship into your life, these sisters are waiting for their forever family to show them what love is all about. Abilene is being fostered in Pottstown (Montgomery County), Pennsylvania). Abilene & Annie have a partially sponsored adoption fee - please inquire. Story
Meet Marlin, the 5-month-old Lab mix who is equal parts cuddle bug, aspiring Olympic hopper, and professional bedtime tooter with the digestive system of a tiny, loving menace. Sometimes I look at Marlin, curled up next to me with his little bunny hops and big brown eyes, and I wonder how such a special soul could ever feel forgotten. This 5-month-old Lab mix spent his early days in a shelter, overlooked and unsure, and while he’s safe now, I can tell he’s still waiting for his person—the one who will finally choose him forever. He’s a gentle, goofy sweetheart who thinks he might be part rabbit (you should see the hops), part snuggle monster, and part gas-powered heater (yes, he toots in bed, and yes, it’s impressive). Evenings are his favorite: cuddled up next to you for TV time, slowly melting into your side until he falls asleep in your arms like it’s where he’s always belonged. He’s still learning that people can be kind, so he might take a moment to warm up—but once he does, oh my heart, he loves with everything he’s got. He adores other dogs, lives for a good game of fetch, and just needs someone to see him, really see him, and say, “You’re home now.”   Gentle and affectionate, he’s perfectly content to let you roll him over, hold his paws, and give him endless belly rubs. But don’t let his sweet demeanor fool you—he’s still a playful puppy who bounces with excitement during playtime. Marlin is ready to bring joy, cuddles, and puppy energy to his forever home.  Marlin is being fostered in Collegeville (Montgomery County), Pennsylvania and is ready to join a furever family. www.mostlymuttz.org Once you’re an approved adopter, your approval applies to any dog in our rescue that’s a good match for you. Story
Hi, I’m Dandelion! I’m a 5-year-old, 35-pound mini Goldendoodle with the softest fur and the sweetest soul to match. I was rescued from a life as a breeding mama from a commercial breeder and I’m finally learning what it means to be loved and safe. I may only have one eye, but don’t let that fool you—I see the world with a whole lot of heart. I’m gentle and calm, just like my name suggests. My favorite thing in the world? Being with my people. I walk beautifully on a leash, ride quietly in the car, and will happily snuggle into your legs at a coffee shop, park, or wherever the day takes us. I live for cozy cuddles—especially if you invite me up for a snuggle session. I get along great with other dogs and would be perfectly happy in a home with or without a furry sibling. I'm very polite and respectful. I do prefer to be with my humans as much as possible, so I’d do best in a home where someone is around most of the time or can bring me along on adventures. Crates aren’t really my thing. I will settle eventually, but I can be a little vocal while I’m getting used to it. Loud noises and sudden movements can startle me, so I’d be happiest in a calmer home with older kids. That said, I currently live with a sweet 6-year-old and love curling up with them to snuggle and read stories. I don’t seem to shed and will need regular grooming to keep me looking as adorable as I feel! I am spayed, up to date on my shots and flea/heart worm preventatives. I can’t wait to find a forever family who will love me for the gentle, loyal companion I am. All potential adopters will need to travel to Lancaster, Pa for a Meet and Greet! Story
Gem is a four-year-old German Shorthair Pointer (GSP) with a zest for life and a loving nature. Like most GSPs, she’s full of energy and thrives in a home that can keep up with her active lifestyle. Whether it’s hiking, running, or exploring the great outdoors, Gem is ready to be your adventure buddy. After a day of activity, she loves nothing more than to settle down for some quality snuggle time with her favorite people. Her favorite thing, beyond anything else, is to be right by her person's side. Gem is well-mannered and has a solid foundation of basic training. She’s potty trained, walks well on a leash, and has reliable recall skills, making her a joy to take on outings. However, her hunting breed instincts are strong, and she has a high prey drive, so she requires a secure, tall, physically fenced yard (no electric fences or tie outs) to safely burn off her energy. Gem’s ideal home is a single-family home with plenty of space and a secure yard, as she needs room to run and play. She is not a good fit for renters or homes with restrictions on outdoor space. Due to her desire to chase, Gem is also not suitable for a home with cats or small animals. She lives in a foster home with six other dogs and gets along well with them, so she would love another canine companion, but would also do well as an only dog! While Gem is friendly and affectionate, she can get nervous in certain situations. For this reason, she would do best in a home with children aged 15 or older who can understand and respect her boundaries. She’s crate-trained and is most comfortable and will need to be crated when her family isn’t home, which helps her feel safe and secure. Gem is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated, so she’s ready to transition smoothly into her new home. Her ideal family will not only appreciate her energetic and playful nature but also provide the structure and understanding she needs. If you’re looking for a loyal, active companion and are willing to travel to Reading, PA, to meet her, Gem could be the perfect fit!

Story
Introducing Miss Honey! Honey is as sweet as her name. She is a 5-year-old spayed mini golden doodle, weighing around 40 lbs. She is up to date on all her vaccinations and is on monthly flea and tick and heartworm preventatives. While initially timid and unsure, after being allowed some time to feel safe and secure, she wants nothing more than to be exactly where her people are. She walks with a slack leash (as long as she’s with you), is doing great at going outside in the backyard to use the potty (as long as she is with you) and sleeps all night on her dog bed (as long as she’s next to you) Do you see the pattern here?! Honey is indifferent to cats, has been gentle with all children that she has interacted with and gets along with both our female and male dog, although she’s much happier with her people and would probably be just fine in a single dog home. Because of her desire to be with her human family, she does have separation anxiety when left alone. She would do best with a family that is home a lot and able to spend as much time with her as possible. She is not the biggest fan of her crate but is slowly adjusting to that as well. With some time and patience, Honey will be a great companion for her future family!
